OP is being unfair. The mayor intentionally duped them into slaughtering an orc tribe because a single orc (the PC) had been seen stolen some chickens.
the general reaction to the comment was also nowhere near as outrageously positive as he seems to suggest.

OP implied that at least 3 people told the guy his story was great, when only 2 people replied, and only 1, the thread starter, said it was good.
OP omitted the part where it was the guy's first campaign he ever ran.
