What class would be best for an expy of Luna from Shadowverse?

Essentially, a necromancer who believes the spirits of her dead parents follow her around. To others, this is plausible due to her necromantic powers.

In truth, the spirits of her parents are just her own delusions.

The class should ideally have some method of conversing with spirits or other spiritual companion-like entities.

Shaman? Spiritualist? Shattered mind? Any class with a psicrystal that the character could claim to be a "soul gem"?

The regular spellburst savant is kinda ... flat, and best suited to normal-optimization pathfinder first party groups. It'll fit in well as a magus alternative in a team of rangers and paladins. The kind of class that sells on the paizo site well enough.

The Turbo version was actually the original spellburst savant version, which had 5e style super-cantrips with limited spellcasting, to be a more all-day offensive warlock type. It's meant to match up with high-optimiziation ceilings such as veterans with PoW or SoP characters, psion/wilder types, and so on.

Well, if you're doing that hoping for balance, just give up. The most broken stuff remain the original core classes, and that's in both directions (a core-book-only-monk was about as bad as you could get after all, and the non-unchained rogue is basically a shittier version of every other character with trapfinding every).

This isn't a joke. Most of us are on here because the sheer scale and amount of material and optimization lets us spend hours crunching out characters when everyone else at work is only watching porn.

I'm not especially familiar with Pathfinder to begin with, so delving into homebrew is pretty much out of the question. Finding out that the worst offenders are in the core books doesn't inspire me with a great deal of confidence about the feasibility of such a game.

Have you considered other systems? 5e's got its problems but it's not all that busted, Unchained Heroes is pretty cool, Rolemaster's a lot better than some people give it credit for, The Dark Eye is quite good, Iron Kingdoms RPG is great fun too, hell you might even enjoy Pendragon?

I got killed by an ambush in the local tavern from some PoW using assassin. The DM had apparently been noticing my "unsinkable" nature and vowed to take me down at least once during the campaign.

Before it was cancelled, our last game saw us running afoul of a Deep One cult. Our cleric was torn apart by a horde vicious hybrids after we discovered their deception-probably better that he died then rather than get taken alive by those monsters. My character has been ganked by an animated/undead scythe into the negs.
Swarmed by and downed by wights (but saved by hero points).
Downed and dragged off to be dissected later, only to be brought back by a potion. Then pulled a crazy, yet successful, acrobatic leap to land back in front of their captor. Finally dropped the surprised alchemist with an attack of opportunity as he went to drink a potion of invisibility.

That's all the near-death experiences

You know less spells and cast far less spells than other primary casters, and your spells are a little more specialized, but ALL YOUR SLOTS are maximum level slots, so you're going full bore every time you cast a spell, and recover them all after any rest.

You get pact gifts that give you edge benefits and gain spell-like abilities that are better than cantrips and can be used at-will every now and then.

I mess up when I'm upset, and this is a moment where something on the internet made me super mad. In b4 "you mean like always?" and such.

I just want to gather all of those fucking bullies up and force them to go through an entire Hayao Miyazaki movie inspired journey where through great adversity and suspenseful hijinks they learn to be just a little bit less shitty.

There would be a big friendly serpentine dragon who offers them a ride across the acid lake, but they call him a faggot so he dejectedly flies away. Then they would shitpost and troll eachother for many days, scaring away the few people who offer them help with crossing the acid lake. When they're about to starve to death, a little kitsune grandma approaches them and offers them grandma candy that turns out to be so fucking good and magically nutritious. She's a little grandma, so she can't take them across. So she brings them back to her little grandma cottage and makes them do chores. During their stay, the people that they bullied eventually show up one after another, and little grandma kitsune makes the bullies apologize to each one of them.

In the end, all of the bully victims help the bullies cross the acid lake so they can return home. Once on the other side, they try to keep up the facade with a shaky and stuttering "K-kek thanks for nothing! B-bye, f-faggotss!" The bullies break down and start crying Miyazaki crocodile tears and then they hug their new anime friends goodbye.

Also the Kitsune grandma was secretly some kind of nature spirit or whatever, we care about the enviornment.

I literally pointed out that I wouldn't be casting most of the time, so meltdown and irradiating the rest of the party wouldn't be happening. Nuclear Strike when not made an AoE affects no one but myself and the target, and so any situation that requires precision because of other things in the way (like party members) I can use that instead. I even fucking pointed out that once we get to a level where rads on the party may be an issue I will be able to cast spells to soak it from others (I was wrong, can do it at level 5 because of, again ALCHEMIST). And investing a whole 10 levels just to be immune to rads is "too much"? I could have just worn a fucking Periapt of Proof against Poison or Gamboge Nodule Ioun Stone and spent those levels on something useful instead of something that fits flavor-wise while also having synergy with the other half of the gestalt. If you're going to allow silly shit like Gonzo 2 don't fucking back out on it like a goddamn pussy because you read more maliciousness in the post than there actually was.

Pathfinder's mechanics are all sorts of fucked up. We encounter new and interesting potholes every day; it's like the streets of Montreal.

Some first party classes are ONLY functional with third-party support (Kineticist tops that list), or WERE until very recently (fighter before the armor and weapon master handbooks, rogues before unchained).

There's good and bad everywhere of course, but the worst offenders are the original core book, and the games are usually much less dysfunctional with the 'third/fourth' tier type characters: mostly gishes and special classes like the alchemists, paladins, bards/rubatos.

Much of the third party stuff we usually talk about on here is in that life-sustaining sweet-spot.

In Dreamscarred's Monster Classes: True Dragon, why does the feat to gain humanoid shape give a different ability than the actual change shape ability, but only if you don't already have change shape (and if you do it just gives you +1/day use of change shape)? It's silly and inconsistent.

See, I'd say to make them a bit more Transformers-like. Half-Construct still fits that, because you can borrow the Transformers idea of having a Spark/soul that's the 'living' essence, along with having complex systems that emulate life.

This also allows you to slot in an ability to make a Medium-size humanoid "drone" that can be used for some social stuff. (Say, make it work like Spectral Hand - you lose X hp while the drone is active and get them back if it returns to you but not if it's destroyed.)

BUT. The biggest factor: don't use race points! They suck! Just make a custom race and try to balance it against an existing one.

Though, honestly, "living mecha" might work better using the approach in DSP's Monster Classes, where you have a "starting race" version that's just the basics (in this case, maybe warforged-like with some weird touches), and then a racial paragon class that advances race-specific stuff including things like size.

Necromancy Occultists have a strength that no other necromancer has: they don't need a body to create undead, nor do they need to worry about skirting the alignment line regarding the [Evil] tag on Animate Dead. Their main Focus Power can create an immediate, disposable, useful minion with which to use as they see fit, gaining in power with every few levels, alongside the power to cast standard necromancy spells. Okay folks I got bored and decided to make a race of things for a homebrew setting.

The gist of it is: a bunch of priests of an ancient empire wanted to save the citizens. They got together and performed an ancient ritual, trapping the souls of millions in a massive, mountain range-sized hunk of iron deep below the earth. Thousands of years later, shards of this iron chunk have risen to the surface and taken on human form.

The thing is, the Empire is destroyed. Gone, kaput. It does not exist. Literally, it was ERASED. The only remnants of it are the Tieflings and the Ironbodied Folk. There's a gulf of nearly TEN THOUSAND YEARS between the death of the Empire and a prospective campaign with this race in it.

The Empire, anyways, was composed of humans and human supremacists who didn't like the various other races that inhabited the world. They had a caste system, but knew enough about meritocracy to see the benefit of promoting the lower castes to higher positions. There was psychic and divine magic, but nothing like arcane (i.e all magic was rituals and faith, y'know). They weren't big fans of those /filthy/ ratfolk and skinwalkers and others. So they opted to keep the population of these other races down, in order to have the most room for themselves.
Unfortunately, a VERY BAD THING happened, which ended up killing EVERY SINGLE HUMAN. Like, ever. But not really.

About a few hundred thousand were converted into Ironbodied Folk by the priestly caste. The unscrupulous nobility and upper-caste merchants made deals with otherworldly devils in order to escape the VERY BAD THING, becoming Tieflings as they spent their time in the realm of the devils, but that's a topic for another time.

Most recent death in our campaign was the monk, who was under the effects of a geas and was stuck murdering townsfolk. the party was preoccupied escaping the town (some were also under the geas) so a sympathetic questgiver tried to save the monk. Well the nice thing about Pathfinder, in my opinion, is that the system's content bloat allows practically any concept to work as a character mechanically without extreme amounts of refluffing, handwaving, or fiat.

If you aren't worried about optimization, which I believe a quiet majority of /pfg/ is, and I know a great majority of the playerbase as a whole is, then it's a great system to express creative character ideas mechanically as well as in a narrative.

I think they are close enough. You can take the ranger TWF style feats so you ignore prerequisites, and TWF relies on additional damage modifiers which you have with studied strike and sneak attack. Two-handed is a powerhouse as usual.

You can also go TWF with a sword and shield combo, it is marginally more feat-intensive but still viable.

Several reasons, both in-world and out of character.

First and foremost, OOC it exists for the same reason there's an entire nation of undead - it's a kitchen sink setting, and as such there needs to be at least a few "brutal lands with tribal leaders". Belkzen and the Realm of the Mammoth Lords count for that. Numeria also counts somewhat.

In world the logistics of eliminating it are horrific. The thing with taking armies to go after rabble is that in those cases, the rabble isn't well-trained; all orcs, even the noncombatants in belkzen, have some weapons training and have their famed ferocity. You send an army in there equal to their artmy, that'll spur their hunters, guards, and even a fair number of their otherwise noncombatant populace to pick up arms and come after you too.

Additionally, getting bogged down in Belkzen is a good way to get every last one of your men killed, because the only common races that can see in the dark (and they're in a strict minority) are Half-orcs and dwarves, so your army is constantly going to be harried like mad by night raids where the orcs can see but your men can't.

Furthermore, there's the animals - gortheks, warcats, and war bulls; a trio of animal types that the orcs use as combat animals because they are, frankly, extremely difficult to fight, to say nothing for the standard. The land is flatly hostile, difficult to forage if you don't know what you're doing (and the orcs do, whereas modern armies won't) and if you go into the mountains to try and skirt the orcish armies, you'll have giants all up in your business, and the orcs may be able to form an alliance with them due to the threat, which makes it even worse.

Finally, getting the men you need to do this in the first place is a pain. The kingdoms of the inner sea really don't work well together, and here is no exception; getting an alliance together willing to brace all the shit I just mentioned would be a political crapshoot.

I have no idea why you think Cheliax is in ANY position to even be concerned about Belkzen, much less help eliminate it. Look at where it is on this map; To get the belkzen, Cheliax would have to send an army through two of Varisia, Nidal, Molthune, and nirmathas, which are all places that split off from the chelish empire initially, and an army from cheliax showing up on their doorstep would make every single one of them freak out and retaliate. Additionally, due to cheliax's internal problems, such as entire cities seceding from its governance, the Holy Reclamation, and others, it needs to keep its armies internal to put down rebellion or it'll simply lose everything and won't be any help to anybody.

Hey so got a game, it's going great, kinda wary that a party member might get cocky and either IC try to kill us or OC brag about how badass he is.
Game's gestalted, he's running a Rogue/Vigilante and he's pretty much a backstabbing madman with good damage.
Meanwhile I'm tanking and healing and trying to fill gaps here as a Oracle and PoW Warder (3rd party is allowed "so long as it's not totally OP") with access to Veiled Moons by being a part of the Wayward Path and Ancestor mystery.

High initiative and the Guard's Glare feat. As long as you can get a mark on him, he can only attack you reasonably, and as the tough bastard that means you're also the most likely to live under assault. Additionally, grab a ring of sustenance, and offer to stand guard duty most nights because you only need two hours of rest, which will give you plenty of time to watch him.

These are also reasonable suggestions even for characters not worrying about betrayal, so you can hide it as "these are just some character choice I'm making" rather than active prep for shutting down a backstabber.

Easy mode is to figure out the girl's band size, since that's the thing that really highlights how massive the girl's chest looks on her. A pair of 40Fs will look far less impressive than 32F, but once you get lower than 32 things get very awkward, since that's the size of her torso.

Well at the moment the candidate for best girl is Xelleria.

She's the Granddaughter of The Queen, and is equal parts Red and Gold, and Human. Her mother, a Red dragon had fallen in love with a Dragon slayer that fought her to a standstill by himself. The dragonslayer reciprocated, and Xelleria was born.

Xelleria is currently in the demesne to be tutored by her grandmother. however being a massive lazy bum, mainly just lets her wander free and be charisma 22. She has a fondness for strong and skilled swordsman who can also sing.
