Dak Dak was my kobold ranger. He followed around a dragonborn paladin, believing him to be "the best and strongest dragon". Together they worked to dismantle a cult that was summoning devils into the world. Dak Dak slowly learned the paladins code of morals, and accepted them as his own.

While looting one of the cults hideouts, the paladin became possessed by a demon who would periodically take control of his body to do awful things. As time went on the paladin became desperate to be rid of the demon, and met repeatedly with a member of the cult who claimed that their summoning of devils was to fight the rising chaos of the demons. The cultist made him believe that the only way to be free of the possession was to submit to the cult.

The paladin left the party shortly after that in the dead of night to make his way to the cults stronghold. Dak Dak tracked him for days before confronting him on the road to the cults mountain fort. He was unable to convince his mentor to abandon the cult, and could not bring himself to kill the paladin as he walked willingly into the embrace of the cult. His teacher had betrayed his own code, and fallen to temptation for personal safety over the protection of others.

The last time I played him he was sitting broken and alone on the mountainside, lost without his mentor

To teach my group Savage Worlds, and set up my campaign setting, Hellscape 202X, I built a squad of elite badass, but ultimately disposable, super cops for them to play and sent them on a rescue mission to save the local mayor's daughter from a cult holed up in a mansion in the Miskatonic Mountain range in the Fall of 1999. The whole time, they were sure their commander was just Wesker. It didn't help that I'd described him as a tall, handsome, blonde guy who reeked of command and professionalism and the whole setup was VERY Resident Evil 1. My character was based off the Oath of Conquest from the Unearthed Arcana for 5e that came out near Christmas. We did Curse of Strahd that entire week and finished it on the 27 At first my character could have gone edgy with his powers, especially with what it talks about dashing hope, etc. He was built with Strength & Charisma being his main stats of course, but I also gave him the Haunted One background and tied his Harrowing Event.

My character, Düster was a page for a grand wizard who got a little too curious when cleaning out his master's study. He opened a grimore that was a mental catalog of all the possible evils and villainy man could ever enact on each other. These visions seared into every nook and cranny of his psyche and scarred Düster for life. Since then he had problems not seeing the worst in people but then he created his own philosophy to cope with the experience.

"I've already seen the worst that man has to offer. So why not make the best of what man hasn't offered."

Düster started training himself in speechcraft, investigation, and insight to hone his senses to see the telltale signs of corruption within someone's psyche and soul. However he wouldn't kill them or beat them senseless like other Paladins would but instead fight the evil within them by showing them that their worst does not have to be what defines them. Though I did have to fight some mindless zombies, If the foe was sapient, then I talked my way into finding out what truly took them down the dark path. My "conquering path" was helping others conquer the demons within them.

Highlight was his conversations with several of the characters that prevented fights. Most of them can get spoiley but the main one that was a highlight of his character is when he got to talk with Strahd himself. It will be a spoiler alert towards Strahd but I'll post it after this,

Well, I quite like living, and unfortunately the best I have for the image is that I got it off deviatart so far back I can't recall sauce. Admittedly kitsune are cancer BUT, I can do storytime.

So our story starts with a basic pathfinder game, Jade Regent. DM was allowing 3.5 conversions as well as some homebrew shenanigans, but was very adamant on the 'I just want a cool, PG 13 full kung fu movie thing.' As such, most of the party was taking the bait on this and playing along. We had a former geisha, a pair of ninjas from rival clans, and a (sort of) disgraced monk. We had one caster type, but they were doing the 'I want all the drawbacks to be minmaxy as fuck' thing and wound up a mute, kleptomaniac, monk/caster/rogue/theurge thing so we kind of ignored it. So, seeing an interesting opportunity, I applied my character.

Dm had a good laugh at this and allowed the character, since he already had rival ninjas he figured there was no harm in letting an evil spirit help the party because honor and oaths and shit. And for fluff, since I had a fox wizard in a high level dungeon crawl campaign we were both in that ended a few months back, DM said character would be the descendant/reincarnation of that one. What he wasn't expecting was what I meant by 'evil as shit fox spirit.'

So early game my evil was relatively contained. Since I was Bound by Honor! to be bros with the party, the worst I did was use my arcane bond made intelligent item to spy on my friends and occasionally try on their clothes when they weren't looking to 'get their face right.' Combine this with rival ninjas having most of the plot and 'disgraced' monk literally torturing anything we found, party felt that fox spirit was more or less a silly joke because I never 'did' evil shit, I just spoke cryptically when my divination spells helped.

See, we were fighting one of the minibosses and by now DM's homebrew shenanigans were really coming to the fore because he was allowing ki powers DBZ style. So even a blasty wizard was a bit obsolete. However, I was able to CC some mooks and bide my time till miniboss was about to die. I send DM this tell.

Now DM has heard me talk about this trick before, since soul gems can count as gold for magic item creation. But since he wanted a high power game he was down with me having this spell. Thing is that other than Minmaxer super theurge! I am the only one who can actually see magic. and supertheurge had a nasty habit of using invis and darting ahead of the group to grab all the loot before initiative is even rolled. So I am more or less hidden.

With that soul, and some other reagents, I am able to make a magic item that can cast that same spell 1/day. From there it was just a matter of taking enough souls to get enough casts per day to simply take the souls and use them for other magic items.

That does not do justice to the character or the story though, that is merely the mechanics side of it. See, because the character liked wearing a heavy cloak and was relatively soft spoken, the party was 50/50 on their gender and was more or less 'yeah, that's technically a demon..

So aside from the occaisonal 'ohh such a spooky ancient evil, oh the terror!' type jokes, fox wizard was ultimately a side character when alongside what was now saiyans and a 'disgraced' monk with dragon powers. Now, I can talk about the big bad. See, with saiyans in the mix, the big bad had to be tweaked some to be of proper scale. So DM had this 'king of all demons' type dude who also stole souls but would raise the bodies and corrupt them into demonic terrors to send our way. (For those who have played Jade Regent, we are not out of the beginning country yet.) And when Big Bad did shit, it was not subtle. Like 'black spike armor and so much blood and eyes of fire' type of not subtle when he corrupted an NPC we knew. So 'evil fox demon' became 'adorable and harmless fox demon' because I wasn't doing ~that~.

Instead, every town we went into, I went to the local clinic to stockpile on medicines and 'help' the doctors, stealing souls whenever I could do so quietly. And If I could stuff a body into my bag of holding, all the better. DM was well aware, but I wasn't pissing off bosses early like supertheurge! or one shotting everything like Saiyans so there was no issue. Now since DM was allowing 3.5 conversions, he allowed me to use the Book of Vile Deeds cost reductions for things like human brains or the like. But no, I am going full folklore with this. My fox spirit had a thing for livers.

See, there is another spell, blood transcription, where a wizard can drink the blood of a dead spellcaster to add some spells to their book. DM allowed me to refluff as 'eating their livers' and as such I had also begun to silently kill anyone with casting ability who was not explicitly the party's friend. All while being the but of the 'your sooo evil' jokes because most of my spells paled in comparison to a good kamehameha....

It's around this point that DM is realizing that I'm not softballing the 'evil spirit' thing. But even then I was not nearly as bad or as powerful as Big Bad. Even then though, the party has more or less made me the 'magic item crafter' guy without considering where I'm getting resources, or what I'm using as my trail rations. This all changed in the subplot where NPC Cleric is stolen, the one this wizard owes a debt to.

Now the funny thing about this is, I had already established that if a king fucks up, then his subjects are also now fair game for my wicked ways, since that is why I am always an enemy of the demons underneath the Big Bad's banner. So, Cleric is being tortured and the like in this city and we have no idea where she is. By now I am more or less support for saiyans and a dragon monk, but I have one thing they do not have; a willingness to do bad things.

I don't go after my cleric buddy, because I would die. I do not go after the king of this particular city, because I would die. Instead, I use my illusions and charms to steal away children, children and wives and any too weak to fight me off. Roughly 5-10 a day in a city of a couple thousand. I kill these poor innocents, steal their souls, and cast magic mouths on some the bodies.

See, because I can shapeshift and have enough invis spells to get away from crime scenes, I am very hard to catch. So these bodies, they speak of a hospitality broken, how something has been offended at the cities actions and this was only the beginning. I never named the party, or the cleric, or even what people did to cause this vengeance of mine. I merely killed the weakest among them, and slowly spread disease and ill omens throughout the town. By the time the party found the next dungeon where cleric NPC was being kept, they had cut themselves off of any help because of these whispers that something had to be done to stop my evil before it had gotten worse.

Party did not even know that I was the cause of this, since when I do evil stuff I tell DM and roll the required checks in a side chat (game is all online.) So when we got cleric back and left the city, some thought that they were abandoning a side plot. Only one that had an idea was geisha player, since we were being followed by a spy and I 'handled it' with my magic. But by now I had proven myself to DM and the NPCs on the big bads side were sometimes gloating sometimes terrified of my existence, because some were starting to catch on that fox wizard gave no fucks. Which caused the party to at least hold back on the jokes.

Then we had a new player. One who had a rough idea of party dynamics but was playing a 'fox with a demon trapped inside me and oh the angst' type schtick. He wanted to do good. We were in a new city now and he wanted to save a gladiator condemned to death. He asked for fox wizard's help.

>Sure, just make a contract with me. I save a life, you give me one. Not yours, not any one of our friends, just know that I will ask you to give a life for me.

He accepted, and I saved gladiator by replacing him with one of my many bodies. Emboldened by this, (despite the party now catching on and avoiding anything I say with the word contract in it.) He asks me a bit later to help him assassinate a rival ninja and her underlings.

He as apprehensive, because there were like 50+ people in the castle rival ninja was chilling in, but he ultimately accepted the terms.

By this point I have access to spells like fly and wall of stone. So I simply wall off the exits to the castle and light anything flammable on fire, being sure to take out siege weaponry first. Now the ninja and some subordinates did escape, but saiyans and disgraced monk had a good fight there. (last post nex

What was more interesting though, was that this was the first time the party had really seen this wizard do it's thing. Because by now I had enough spells and pearls of power to harvest every soul in the castle. And unlike the oh so honorable saiyans or dragon monk, I did not give them a chance as I unleashed fire and poisonous mist on what was ultimately a pack of hired muscle. In the end, they died at each others swords unable to tell friend from foe, and the party watched their oh so adorable fox wizard laugh as it all happened. Some knowledge checks were rolled, and they started to catch on that the fox spirit was one of the most evil fucking things out there, held in check only for a contract with a cleric they all scoffed at. The only survivor was an enemy ninja who swore herself to me to spare her life, the cost being a permanent charm person potion that she had to drink, knowing what it was.

Thank you, but oh trust, I gave only the barest bones of the shit I've been pulling in this game. Currently, one of our players brought in a new character modeled after bleach (because DM for this is a bit of a whore for anime homebrews) and has been posturing to lock down my evil shit/murder my face. He has not been able to save a single soul because of enchanted pic related.

Once while trying to prove to a dragonblood noble that she is most certainly not too small to be a bride of alaht, (instead of a solar which are fair bit higher on the kebab in need of removal list) she lifted an entire cow above her head before faking a sacrificial ritual of said cow.

Later she would punch in a sheer cliff face and kick the car sized debris at some abyssals; their frankenstien tyrant lizards.

A bit of both. Since the character is based on folklore, it's well known that the universal 'you're fucked' scenario is being in a contract and trying to kill the fox who swore it. Since the old tales have it that fox spirits always seek revenge when you least expect it and the magic tends to go away very quickly. and by 'revenge' the tales say 'your house burns down with your family still in it.' or 'you're hexed to kill your closest friends.'

In truth, all that'll happen is that a good chunk of their magic will vanish and I'll 'leave never to be seen again' only to return wearing someone else's face. Probably a shrine maiden or some shit like that. Play it like a whole new character (already cleared with DM) and then slowly gaslight them with illusion magic, keep them (and by proxy the big bad) convinced that demonic revenge is always waiting for them, like a sword of Damocles.

Of course, this is a double blind to get the big bad to think I'm actually on his side. Since he tried to get me to turn traitor and he left not quite sure who or what's side I'm actually on. Which should give me good access to his lieutenants, which I can probably drop with a good magic sneak attack; because even if the party turns on this thing, it hates the big bad more and it can't get close enough alone.

Sanji, like every other classic orbiter character, had plenty of great moves, but no closer. We see time and time again (before it became a joke) that he is perfectly capable of initially introducing and maybe even seducing women, but inevitably loses control of the situation completely the moment actual physical interaction is on the table. This is a classic trait of late-life virgins (not the opening bit, but the kino-jitters) that tells us he has, at most, had one or two non-too-significant relationships in his life, neither of which involved a great deal of physical interaction.
