What's the best healing perk/item?
>>
Exalted: Infernals Retcon:

Caste - Scourge
Favoured by Kimbery
Drop-In
Name That Unfolds Like Lotus Blossom
Below Notice 100
Orphan Cub of the Devil-Tiger 400
Hateful Wretched Noise 600
Blood of T'Foor Na 800
Emotional Storms 1200
Border of Impossibility 1400
Coven 1500
Leeroy: Drop-In, Caste - Slayer, Favoured by Oramus, Name That Unfolds Like Lotus Blossom, Below Notice 100, Orphan Cub of the Devil-Tiger 400, Mu 600
A Hellish Rival 1300
Heretic 1000

Retconned this mostly because it occurred to me that if all the Yozi were after me a single crafty enemy infernal was the least of my concerns. Plus I figured if I imported my bodyguard as a Devil Tiger and then he created some charms specifically about guarding my body that'd be pretty great.

Went for Slayer for his caste for obvious fighty reasons and bought him both Below Notice and Mu which make him extremely difficult to notice/scry for/discover.

Also picked up Below Notice for myself as even within this jump it'll be pretty handy for at least keeping the non-yozi/infernal/demonic players off my back.

On a sidenote I decided that my coadjutor would be a Gethin who are basically oily chicken lizards that collect shiny stuff and shapeshift. Mostly because the idea of a big salamander knocking down my door and giving me an exaltation is a funny idea.
>>
>>50840504
Bottle of demon's blood, if your tough enough.
>>
>>50839677
Somewhere in EVO, iirc
>>
>>50840462
Do not collect $200.
>>
Hey Jumpers how do you keep yourself engaged?

In the middle of a chain right now and I find it hard to not treat jumps as amusement parks. I don't wanne be like one of those douchey clients in Westworld.
>>
>>50840504
X-Men Movies: Omega Level Healing Factor.
>>
>>50840544
Does it work on non-Jumpers? My goal is to cure Aang from Avatar the last airbender. His spiritual energy is depleted or something.
>>
>>50840613
Why don't you just drop him in the Fountain of Youth?
>>
>>50840504
Divine Caster from overlord in combination with Level 100, in shear power if nothing else.
>>
>>50840613
It will if they can handle it. But it'll also make them partially demonic. Pretty sure Aang doesn't want that.

The Rod of Asclepius from JLD could probably restore his spiritual energy.
>>
>>50839606
The Starheart's constructs don't go up to the level a Green Lantern ring's can. It's all the esoteric powers that make up for it.

Plus it still has its innate wood weakness while the yellow weakness is long dead.
>>
>>50840528
So what traits did you get from the chrysalis? I vote for the goofy face.

Thanks everyone who responded!
>>50840604
I need to find a way to apply it to my patient though.
>>50840632
From which Jump? I don't think there's one in ATLA.
>>50840640
Will look into it. Is level 100 attainable in the span of one jump?
>>50840649
Yeah Aang doesn't seem like a partially demonic kind of guy.
I'll read through Justice League Dark, thanks.

The problem is I'm doing this chain with my little sister (irl) and I don't want to go into a scary/edgy world with her.
>>
>>50840649
By the way, you mentioned last thread that Greatest Magician of the Age can do anything below a planetary scale once mastered. Isn't that kind of massively lowballing it?

Zatanna can do feats on that scale, and the 400 cp perk makes you as strong her already, with even better potential.

Also, Greatest Magician still has the obsolete list of feats that you were going to change.
>>
>>50840683
Feathery hair, mad red eyes and an unnervingly wide smile.

Plus I can secrete oil now so that's something.
>>
>>50840762
Level 100 is purchasable as a perk on its own. Just keep in mind that some people feel that going Level 100 trivializes the chain to a degree.
>>
>>50840811
Why? It's not like it's super high tier power in the context of most shounen jumps or other high power places. Heck, Fate Servants have better feats in things like strength or speed.
>>
>>50840762
If an omega class healing factor mutant injects their blood into someone they get a lesser, but still really good healing factor.
B class, I think?
>>
>>50840587
I read, watch movies, play around with magic, ham it up as a saturday morning cartoon villain, stuff like that.
>>
>>50840833
Didn't say that I agreed, I just remember seeing some people say that.
>>
>>50840665
I thought the weakness to wood was psychosomatic?
>>
>>50840665
Pic related. You can pull off Alan's normal feats because usually he's barely drawing on the Starheart's power ans barley using his willpower in his constructs to prevent it from possessing him.

>>50840762
JLD isn't so bad. Just don't take any drawbacks, don't fuck with the plot, and you can go hang out with Superman or something.

>>50840764
No anon. That's wanking Zatnna pretty hard. Zatnna couldn't pull a planet into another dimension, she couldn't just decide the wants North America to be a flying continent and make it happen, she couldn't just change the moon into a Rubik's cube because she felt like it. That's the kind of things you could do. Walk up and bitch slap Wuya if you want to.
>>
>>50840929
It really depends on the writer.
>>
What jumps have the series/setting they're based on as an item? I mean, like how Kamen Rider has the manga as an item.
>>
>>50840949
Worm has the original webfiction on an e-reader or something.
>>
>>50840949
isn't there a perk which gives you that for every jump?
I know there's ways to get the internet in your warehouse, maybe in the Youtube jump
>>
>>50840967
Huh. So it does, didn't even know that.

>>50841012
Are you thinking of Universal Canon from White Wolf, I think it's called? Isn't that more like getting a walkthrough for a setting?

That's true, but I want the actual series 1. for cp protection and 2. because that Adaptor thing from The Princess Bride can adapt it into any form of media I want, the best version of it in the multiverse, in fact.
>>
>>50839677
the Populous jump has a Verdant perk IIRC
>>
>>50840931
Zatanna escaped from Nanda Parbat, fought a universal or greater void goddess , fought Zor, and rezzed someone who had been deleted from existence.

She can ,in fact, reach Planetary level feats and greater. Though some of those instances include prep time

And honestly, several of the feats and references you've given for Zatanna make her base self comparable to what Greatest Magician gets you near it's peak.

Why would you ever buy the Greatest Magician perk when it's at best slightly better than a 400 cp perk in the same tree? Every other capstone blows it out of the water, except maybe Synchronicity Wave Traveling.
>>
>>50840931
Paying for a gimped version of anything is always a complete waste of points. If you don't think the real thing can be offered then don't offer it at all.
>>
>>50840544
Fron what jump?
>>
so /jc/ since we seem to on a roll of perk recommendations I need to ask:
What is the best social perk? My own vote goes to "Brains" from Highschool of the dead since it is a flat out memetic contamination perk.
>>
>>50841375
Perfect Communication Skills from worm. Pair the two together and you're unstoppable.

It'd basically be the antilife equation.
>>
What jumps have notable goddesses you can companion or waifu?
>>
>>50841347
You sound like you just don't want that option to be in the jump.
>>
>>50841421
EVO.
>>
>>50841362
DC Occult, I think Justice League Dark has one as well.
>>
>>50841427
Oh, this is pretty standard, really. I honestly wanted to make a flow chart for some of these, because they follow basically the same rhythm.

'Why does X say we can do Y when [Random Comic Issue or other canon with self-contradictory scale] means we should be able to be Z. This perk is less useful than other perks and is therefore useless and I don't want to pay for it and I don't want it to be in the jump PAY ATTENTION TO ME MORE I'M LONELY.'

It basically follows the same beats and arguments. Occasionally, it'll be someone trying to make an actual point and they'll explain themselves, but they'll usually stick to the 'IT'S USELESS BUFF/REMOVE IT'.

Jump 229: Santa
>Ace of Pentacles: A new foundation from which to turn your dreams into reality.
>Age: 25
>Location: The North Pole
>Identity: Drop-In
>Drawbacks: Job Hazard (+100), The Nightmare Before Christmas (+200), The Grinch (+300)
Oh hey, it's Pumpkin Jack. Long time no see! How's it hanging? ...ohhh no, you bastard, don't you DARE ruin this for me--!
>Holly Jolly Criminal (Free)
Honestly if I didn't know how to get into somewhere that I wanted to go by now, I don't think I'd deserve to be a jumper.
>A Single Night (Free)
I am pretty sure that I spend one month a year telling the elves what to do and how to do it, and the other eleven months is squeezed into a single night. Thank goodness that I can run at super speed if I need to.
>That's What Christmas Is All About (Free, Drop-In)
The true meaning of Christmas? Honestly? Whatever makes you happy. Whether it's found in family and friends, or buying yourself some neat little gizmo... whatever makes you happy. And if nothing about Christmas makes you happy... that's okay. You don't have to celebrate Christmas, either. Just put on some headphones, kick back, and listen to some Zeppelin.
>Naughty Or Nice (1500)
I think I can already do this, but let's make sure. After all, I'm Santa.
>Summon Cocoa (1300)
>Summon Nog (1100)
Never underestimate the utility of having such things available in times of need. Though the first house fire I come across as Santa that ends up being extinguished by eggnog and hot chocolate is going to be a bit hilarious.
>Electronic Gizmos (800)
Hey, if I'm going to play Santa, why limit myself to traditional toys? People love all kinds of stuff! And just because they'll get something like this doesn't mean that we won't be filling stockings with Victorian-era candies and giving children toys and other gifts crafted out of wood.

You know, I put a lot of consideration into how to handle this decision. In the end, though... onthing else was nearly as worthwhile as this. Being able to stop any conflict, no matter how horrible... if only for one day. You know what? It's worth it.

Gotta dress the part. And I don't mean spraypainting my power armor to be red with white trim, even if it does look festive.

This isn't a Tim Allen movie. We aren't having the list sent via FedEx.

>Book of Carols (Free, Drop-In)
Well, at least I've got something to sing while I do my rounds.

Can't beat the classics.

Merry Christmas, everybody.

Screw you

Fate really only has Amaterasu and Scathatch as still alive, though apparently other gods can be summoned (see artemis/orion). Also Agnsty mandude, but he's... I have no clue.

Percy jackson has the greek gods available who probably are DTF given the premise of the books. It also has the egyptians, though they lean towards possessing the people they like, and also the norse. I know nothing about the norse though.

Puzzle and Dragon, if it's got a valid jump, almost definitely counts. Gods galore.

Stargate has fake gods, including megalomanic snakes, little grey men, and energy squids.

Shaman King has several gods as mochirei, IIRC, though I only know of... Three? But if you're willing to pay for it, you can have your own. Still a ghost though.

Thats all, of the top of my head.

Damaged goods.

This one isn't even canon, though. There's nothing like this in the comics, it's a weak version of the Starheart without most of its powers just because.

>>
>>50841669
Matter's recycled constantly, anon. Everything you eat was shit at some time, but that doesn't stop you. All that matters is what it is when you eat it.
>>
>>50841701
You should have some standards, anon. Respect yourself more.
>>
>>50841682
Anon's just being an over-exaggerating ninny. Nurgle may be a great many things but raping is all Slaanesh's shtick. Isha is pretty much just a songbird in a cage.
>>
>>50841695
I didn't. It just seems like more of a Slaanesh thing. Like if Nurgle rapes someone, doesn't that power up Slaanesh?
>>
>>50841319
First, that was New 52.

Second, Zatanna's powerful, but mostly she's really skilled, really smart, and really good at hax. Could she conceivably, with lots of prep and training, accomplish those kind of things? Maybe. Could she ever just decide to it and then accomplish it through sheer power and willing it to happen? Almost certainly not.

Normal humans have a cap on how much magic they can handle. Homo Magi can handle a lot more, but they're still limited by their mortal bodies. The only way around this is through artifacts like the Helm of Fate or becomint something/fusing with something greater like the Wizard Shazam or Circe.

>>50841347
Agree to disagree.

Besides, originally Alan Scott /did/ just use a shard of the Starheart forged into the shape of a ring before he ended becoming the host for the whole thing.

>>
>>50841720
Isha belongs to Slaanesh anyway.
>>
>>50841721
Then why doesn't this one have the all the powers his ring did?
>>
>>50841764
Depends on where you go. Stay on Earth and it's Fallout with cyborg kung fu, nothing too scary. Go to space and things get weird and dangerous, as the cyborg kung-fu ramps up in lethality and exotic body modifications. At the high end you've got things like people filling their veins with hypersonic plasma so they can use it to punch harder, it's a crazy place.

>>50841776
Yeah, but Tunpo is a good guy, he's not going to wormhole punch you unless you're a jerk.
>>
>>50841788
Dandachi is one of the Dere swords from Yūsha Gojo Kumiai Kōryūgata Keijiban. It has the unique ability to heal everything except death, even insanity and serious mental damage
>>
>>50841721
We can technically choose New 52 in Occult, so it's a bit of a moot point.

And my point still stands about Greatest Magician being kind of weak compared to the other capstones, just because all of them carry some kind of immediate tangible benefit.

Meanwhile, Greatest Magician offers you nothing but potential, but it's peak is only on par with what the other capstones immediately give you. Or maybe a bit worse, going off of the perk text.

At the very least, I'd remove or change the list of feats for Greatest Magician like you said you were going to.
>>
>>50841835
That's fucking cool.
>>
>>50841835
By smacking it out of you. So this plan involves beating the shit out of Isha until she's healed.
>>
>>50841860
would using it on nurgle just empower him or beat him to death by curing all that disease? That one is kind of confusing
>>
>>50841764
Junkyard- Mostly ordered "society" with the malcontents and threats to tiphares hunted down by robots or hunters. Outside is a wasteland with bandits, mutants, and other threats. Biggest threats are cyborgs multiple times above human peak, Alita, Desty Nova, Mr. Rebellion, and Tiphares if you piss them off.

Tiphares- Society above the clouds where people get lobotomized with brain chips implanted. Basically slaves to ladder like junkyard is to tiphares. Way, way nicer to live up here until Desty sets off the kill switch by letting everyone know about brain chips which sends the defenses into murder overdrive. This is where IMAGINOS body Alita gets her challenges from to start with, stronger tech base up here.

Ladder- Trinidad is the ubor haxxorz and shuts down Alita here via hacking and causal pimp hand. We have jumped another escalation level in tech with the big players coming together, culimating in the space karate tournament. Which is where the solar system's threats all come together like aforementioned omnipresence Tubo who can't use it that often, Zeke with antimatter punches, super nanite colony grey goo penis monster, and general long running shounen end game escalation levels of danger. Alita basically fused with Jupiter and puppets a imaginos body with cat ears and tail at this point to participate.

At least my standards are high enough where I don't listen to dry shit encrusted assholes who puke vomit on their keyboards. Like you.
>>
>>50841860

No you can't. If it says you can then it's an artifact from an earlier version.

I will change it. Just haven't gotten around to it, yet.

It gives a balance of power and versatility that the others don't. I think it's fair. Maybe I'm underselling what it can do or something, but you're definitely overstating Zatanna's power.

>>
>>50841936
From your earlier statement, were you implying that New 52 Zatanna is actually stronger than Post-Crisis Zatanna? Would Post-Crisis not have been able to pull off the void goddess thing?

Also, does being an Avatar of the Green give you Swamp-Thing's other abilities like mind-melding, being able to create multiple bodies, healing people, and regen?

>>
>>50842014
What are you talking about?

>>50842042
Not usually, but Zatanna did some crazy stuff towards the end. But then Post-Crisis has occasionally had some ass pulls, too. It's just standard comics fluctuations.

>>50842137
Zatanna's pretty much the most powerful pure human mage who isn't drawing on something else for power. Circe's soul is literally merged with a goddess of magic, so she's something fsr beyond a normal sorceress. You're more powerful than Circe with that perk.

I'm probably going to remove that drawback.

>>
>>50842346
Not really, no?
>>
>>50842453
Er, so are you saying the Void Goddess thing was an asspull? That was one of the feats you gave that someone with Magical Blood could accomplish right off the bat.

And are Avatar's capable of anything beyond what the perk describes? In canon they can interact with the astral plane and souls, Swampy has really good regen, and a host of other abilities.

Actually that reminds me of another important question. If you take both the Green and the Red, do they synchronize and turn you into a Flesh Elemental/whatever the hell Swamp-Thing's 'daughter' was.
>>
>>50842656
>Er, so are you saying the Void Goddess thing was an asspull? That was one of the feats you gave that someone with Magical Blood could accomplish right off the bat.
I'm sorry, okay? I'm doing the best I can with what I have. You can only ask for so much from comic books.

You can do that, but keep in mind the context.

>And are Avatar's capable of anything beyond what the perk describes? In canon they can interact with the astral plane and souls, Swampy has really good regen, and a host of other abilities.
Yeah, you can do whatever the canon avatars can.

>Actually that reminds me of another important question. If you take both the Green and the Red, do they synchronize and turn you into a Flesh Elemental/whatever the hell Swamp-Thing's 'daughter' was.
I'm just ruling you can't take more than one.

it translate to 'godbody' think of them like special transformation charms for infernals

universe emperor shintai for example reads like this:
Theion woke far from his brethren, brushing against the infinitude of Time Not to gaze on the 10,000 kingdoms he might rule. The formless rebels of Chaos laughed at him, a foolish monster seeking a place that could house his impossible majesty, but they screeched in voiceless terror at what he did next. From all his would-be dominions, the Empyreal Chaos drew forth the skeleton of the universe and shattered it, fashioning it into the fiery tines of his crown, lighting the flame of his righteousness and forging a realm greater than any imagined by others. Like the universe-forging flame of the Empyreal Chaos, warlocks activating this Charm are subsumed into a blaze of their own might, their bodies ceasing to be worthy houses for their infinite radiant soul. This produces the following effects: (to be cont.)

>>50843011
As written there's absolutely no precedent for that.

Though the sheer latitude of design space available for DT Charms means there's nothing explicitly stopping you. Based on how high Essence DTs have to be to generate 3CDs, it would probably be a fairly high Essence effect though.

>>50843125
• The Infernal’s body is a pure, white flame with a
radius of (Essence ÷ 2) yards, and her anima flares to the
11+m level, a light encompassing a radius of (Essence x
50) yards. Her fiery, transcendent body is both material
and immaterial, allowing her to physically interact with
both levels of existence and ignoring one or the other for
purposes of moving through obstacles. She may enter spirit
sanctums like a dematerialized spirit.
Others who do not similarly exist in this dual state must
use magic to affect the Exalt as if she were in the opposing
state. (In other words, material beings must use Charms to
affect immaterial things, and immaterial beings must use
Charms to affect material things, in order to physically
affect the Infernal at all.)
• As a flame out of the primeval chaos, others may enter
into the furnace of the Infernal’s body, but this constitutes
an environmental hazard with Trauma and lethal Damage
per action equal to (her Essence ÷ 2).
• She does not breathe, though she may still speak with
her voice. She is immune to and ignores previously accrued
penalties from Crippling, Poison, non-magical Sickness,
fatigue, sleep, hunger, and thirst.
• The character’s Cosmic Tyrant Decree expands its
range to fill her anima. Her social attacks inflicting servile
Emotions become unnatural, imposing scene-long internal
penalties of -1 on targets’ actions unrelated to the feeling,
and -3 to contrary actions. By successfully imposing servile
Emotions (target’s Conviction) times in the scene, the
target adopts an appropriate servile Intimacy that may not
be eroded without spending 1wp per scene of effort.
eroded without spending 1wp per scene of effort.
• With Twin Suns Dawning active, the Infernal’s vision
can see through any obstacle within the space of her
expanded anima, regardless of thickness.

Generally, when I'm in full 'serious mode', I'm as unceremonious and subtle as possible. Sudden cardiac arrest, someone missing their mark and falling off of a high ledge, folks disappearing or reappearing without so much as a 'pop' sound. When I'm actually putting effort into it, I tend to manifest magical circles both for amplifying things and cool factor.

When I'm fooling around, I'm theatric and colorful. I legitimately change fireballs to look like rainbows, or change giant boulders into cartoon anvils or pianos. Things that would end in a funny story to tell or deflate my target's ego if they survived. There's a reason my most common title is The Smiling Cat.
>>
>>50843137
• Apocalypse Comet Gaze inflicts damage to subordinate
characters as if they were servile, and expands its
maximum Range to the extent of her expanded anima.
An Essence 6+ repurchase expands the radius of the
Exalt’s flame-body to (Essence) yards, and her blazing anima
to (her Essence x 100) yards.

Just curious.

They'd be independent entities, otherwise, but I've noticed trend among my choice of companions. All of them either help me with a problem I have, or I help them with one of theirs.

Considering how much she means to me, and how meeting her has affected me, turning my waifu into my fetich soul makes an odd kind of sense. Turning a companion more interested in combat than I into my conflict-soul, for example, is a logical extension of that.

>>50843136

Maybe I'll make that my devil-tiger theme, then.

A person alone is a person incomplete, so the deeper intimacy I have with someone, the higher in my soul hierarchy they become a part of. Waifus and companions become 3rd-circles, friends and allies become 2nd-circles, and useful tools/robots/flunkys become 1st circles.

God damn it.

I landed in the world easily enough, a world of 'super heros', a concept I had learned in Disgaea. So there I stood in my full glory, my wings stretched out behind me, when I saw fires in the sky. Then a thunderous crash as whatever was burning crashed near-by in the city. Amaterasu, now given a human form(damn the Benefactor), dragged me in that direction.

I found a boy dressed in a circus tent being kissed by girl from some non-humans species. They jumped when they saw me and took battle positions, intelligent but foolish as well. That's when a truck wreathed in black energies slammed into the back of my head. My so-called 'sister' saw me and panicked it would seem.

We fought for a time, I relied solely on my new powers so as to learn how to use them properly, before the 'confusion' was cleared up and the others, now a cyborg and a green boy joined with them, broke up the fight. We then discussed why the alien woman was here, before a something slammed into the island a little ways from the city proper. And it had a message. We decided to stop the aliens, of course the children looked at me oddly when I said I had to protect "my future kingdom", but what can I expect from children?

We stopped the aliens easily enough, weak creatures that they were, before the others decided to team up using the island the message had crashed into as a base of operations. I took my leave, though my 'sister' kept glaring at me the whole time. I eventually set down my base on another island nearby. My world conquest had to start somewhere, and this was convenient enough.

Somewhere along the way He showed up. An annoyance. Extremely stealthy, and a skilled thief besides. He couldn't take me in a straight fight, but he kept on stealing my things, even important things, that I had to track down and take back by force. Damn this 'Red X', if I ever find out who he was I will kill him.

As if to make matters more annoying the 'Titans' kept on interfering with my attempts to start a religion towards myself, I need Quintessence damn it! They kept droning on and on about how 'cults are wrong' and 'you aren't a god', and 'you act like our father' yada yada yada.

That's when my 'sister' started showing new powers, abilities she didn't have before. New forms of Sorcery if my guess was correct. I questioned her team about it, particularly the Green One. That's how I found out about the book. A demon locked away in the pages of a book, manipulating MY FAMILY. She might not have liked me, in-fact she likely despised me, but she was family now. It is my Duty to protect those under my rule and my family.

I confronted the Demon on top of the titan's base, and let loose a mere part of my full glory. The green fires of Malfeas tore into it until it was nothing but ash. I might have screamed at it for attempting to harm my sister. Amaterasu was cheering in the background for some insane reason. I don't know why but the Titans stopped attacking me constantly after that, and even sought me out from time to time to help them, or to "hang out".

Still I continued my work, honestly abandoning the Conquest for now. I could do that later, and the Titans were a good source of information on this new world. Particularly of Science and Sorcery. I even taught the bird-named one some Terrestrial Martial Arts.

Some problems happened between them and someone called "Slade". I didn't particularly care, though the green one kept on bothering me about it. I didn't particularly care, especially for his moping over the "Terra" girl. Until 'Slade' and the girl attacked the city. This city was MINE. So I fought them, I unleashed my Soul Hierarchy on their machines.

By the time the Titans had arrived I was almost done getting rid of the two. Of course Amaterasu stopped me from killing the girl for some idiotic reason, but I killed 'Slade'. He fell into a pit of magma. After that things calmed down for a while. There was more trouble of course, particularly with 'Brother Blood', but I didn't really care. That's when Slade came back, and made me completely enraged.

He smacked it repeatedly with Despair while using a charm that covers your weapon in Malfeas' flames. It wasn't a very tough fight, since the book-dragon isn't all that tough to be honest, but he didn't just incinerate it with his presence. Apparently the Yozi had saved Slade's soul, to use him as a living weapon. And to turn my sister into his portal. He appeared on her Birthday of all days, disgraceful, and attacked her. Even stopping time in order to get her alone. I was not pleased with this development and swore to help my sister in any way I could. But...I might have let my Rage and desire to strike out at Trigon get the better of me. If I had tried harder perhaps he wouldn't have succeeded in turning her into his Portal.

But he did, I had failed to stop him from getting out of his prison in the first place, and my sister was gone. Then Slade came, offering a way to help find my sister. Both myself and Robin insisted on going, while the others held Trigon back. Slade managed to open a portal to 'hell', their version of Malfeas, to find her. I split off from the two of them. That's when I found her.

Red as blood with four eyes, the demon half of my sister. We fought, we bleed, and I beat her into the ground before dragging her off to Robin and Slade. Of course that's when I met the OTHER half of my sister, Robin had been trying to convince her to fight back and that her friends were with her or some such nonsense. I cleared up the problem simply enough.

She was a Demon-blooded. The power of a Yozi flowed through her veins. But that power did not BELONG to the Yozi who was her progenitor, it was HERS. It was HER power, and HER blood. No fucking Yozi could take her power from her, or control her through it. Not if she set herself to opposing him with every fiber of her being.

I'm not certain how much of my wisdom she understood of course, but she took my advice and re-merged with her Demonic half, stronger than she was before. Before we tore our way out of Hell.

The battle that followed might just be the greatest and most enjoyable battle I have fought yet. A Yozi who had taken MY WORLD, and more importantly harmed My SISTER. And yet we fought side by side, myself and Raven, along with her friends and allies. Only Amaterasu joined me for this fight, as only Silence was strong enough to fight a Yozi and...I prefer to avoid her when all possible.

The battle was what I had been waiting for, what I had wanted, since I heard about Slade's attack on my sister. It was tough, and I nearly even died, but we were victorious. And with the combined efforts of myself and Raven we shoved him back into his fucking cage.

After that things were calmer, and my sister was noticeably happier. She seemed more free to express her emotions rather than keeping them under constant lock-down like before. It was good that she could express herself in such a away.

Still eventually time ran out, and Raven took up...Amaterasu's offer and joined me on my journey.

When a Primordial/Yozi dies, their charms change to Neverborn charms.

So, hope you lose access or get used to your charms putting you into a state of endless suffering, agony, and immobility.

On the bright side, Yozi are supposed to be unkillable as long as you as an Infernal knows their charms. (Not that says much, since they were thought to be unkillable before the Primordial War too)

>Much as they might wish otherwise, the Yozis can’t take back the power they bestow. The use of a Yozi’s Charms in no way depends on the cooperation of that being, though fetich death radically transforms and replaces their Charms with more appropriate effects for most wielders. The Principle of Hierarchy has definitively calculated that Green Sun Prince Exaltations would preserve a dead Yozi’s Charms intact, warding that titan from suffering final death as a Neverborn or suffering net power loss as a result of fetich death so long as a single Green Sun Prince lives to preserve the seed of her former self. True death into a Neverborn would certainly have catastrophic implications on a slain titan’s Charms that the Yozis do not understand or want to discover. Yozis are permanently immune to harm from their own Charms, but they can and do hurt one another. However, Yozi Charms can’t kill their own kind past fetich death. Only the Chosen of the gods are so monstrous.

Not with their usual Yozi charms (or Devil Tiger charms probably, since those are technically Primordial charms too).

But they could possibly do so with a Heretical charm of their own. Or a charm from one of the other exalt types gained through Fiend powers. Or a martial arts charm, I guess?

>>
>>50844995
Depends on the unit. Some are heavy fire-support mecha, and have lots of guns. Others are fast skirmishers and therefore are lightly armed. I've adopted a battle doctrine based on Zimmad Company's proposal for the deployment of Gyans and Doms together. Of course, the fact that I have access to much stronger power sources than Zimmad did means that my mecha can mount much stronger weapons for their weight, and be more agile even when weighed down. So my "light' units are still pretty heavily armed. The "heavy" units are just even more so.

I definitely put it in Eclipse Phase.
Animorphs, Paper Mario, Skullman, Binbougami, Sherlock Holmes, Princess Bride, A Certain Scientific Railgun, Austin Powers, Mega Man Zero and Phantasy Star Online all offer their media, or a library that could contain their media (eg: the Austin powers jump has a library of spy movies, though it doesn't explicitly say the Austin Powers movies are in there).

So there are two worlds that're parallel to each other, right. The first one is in a state of decline, where half-elves have created concentration camps and kick the shit out of humans.
Most of the cities are varying levels of bumfuck and there's not a lot going on except the pilgrimage, which is where a holy maiden goes through a bunch of trials and restores light to the world yadda yadda.

In the other world, the world is in a magitechnological boom and half-elves are getting their shit kicked, even though they're not actually evil there, and are subject to prejudice. The cities are much larger and more smarter and everything is great for humans.

The worlds exist in flux, so that if one declines the other renews, plantlife dies off in the declining world, monster attacks are more frequent, etc.
Consequently, whenever a world declines, its half-elves stand up and throw off their oppressors, who then go right back to oppressing as soon as the world starts to renew again. There's like some shit about the cycle of hatred and moral crap that you can mostly ignore.

Every time a pilgrimage is completed, it swaps which world is in a state of decline or renewal.

The plot consists of finding out that the whole thing is a big conspiracy by an half-elf supervillain to revive his dead sister, only it turns out she hates him becoming a stand in for Hitler, so when she gets the chance to revive she basically tells him to go fuck himself.
He does not take it well.

Eh. Agree to disagree there. I'm a fan of redheads. Both goddesses have aspects and domains I'm a fan of, but Sune is rarely explored in FR so I'd be willing to go that route for curiosities sake if nothing else.

Also, some of Sune's worshippers, can't remember if its clerics, heartwarders or what, can cry a combination of love potions / holy water. That's a neat, if weird, thing to have in your back pocket.

Nah that's prettymuch it.
As >>50845664 mentions, there's this whole extra layer to it, where the angels in charge of the pilgrimage and the half-elves on whatever side is in decline are all working for the one guy, but despite their devotion he doesn't actually give a shit about them, he just wants his sister back who, again, will tell him to fuck off as soon as she has a voice and then permadeath herself.
So basically all you have to do is climb to the very top of either the half-elf or angel infrastructure and then kick the shit out of their leader, who is the one dude.

After that, you might want to figure out a way to deal with the decline/renewal situation.
In the normal course of the plot, the protagonists end up combining the two worlds together after killing the guy, but if you can find a way to equalize the two or else create an alternate source of mana (which is what's technically declining) for the world in decline, that'd work just as well.
Or y'know, just however you want to deal with that situation, if you even care at all.

The Reservoir Chronicles included this world, though I can't exactly remember how, and that is fucking scary as shit, Ranma laughed this off until I threw the entire story at his face. The children find themselves aided by an elderly wizard this time around as I teach them lessons in control and moderation, culminating in the birth of a slightly different form of the Nameless Card. This felt more like a massive baby sitting job but with my entire being edited it was the best that I could pull off. Work on the magic resistant Death Egg is coming along, though building the weapons systems in this world is a no-no so I'm instead working on power systems to supplement the Fake Emerald that is going to be powering the damn thing, cause whilst the idea of powering the entire thing off from squirrels is interesting, the fact I can now do that is stunning to me, I'm not using the Fake Emerald for anything else. Looking at that big green thing makes me wanna ask Jump-Chan if she could manage a Jump to Mega Man Legends. Creating Warp Paintings takes time but I have a shit ton of them from my terapy back in Storybrook so I'm filling those things up with the Magitech equivalent of Nuclear Reactors (One of the many systems of magic I learned in Hero BBS but until my recent stay in Sonic Classic was just too large scale), if they go up it should just invert the local time-space and make looking at the painting painful instead of leveling a good portion of the local seaboard.

And the Pattern Spiders were made by Autocthon, embodiment of awesome yet easily-malfunctioning technology. Put that together, and it's impossible for it to not have been buggy in both the literal and figurative senses.

He's poison. Everyone who interacts with him gets fucked over as a side effect of his adventures, while he walks away unscathed. In some versions, this isn't just some narrative trope of his stories but an actual deflection of his bad karma away from him onto everyone nearby.

Oh no, no, no-this doesn't plumb the abyssal depths of whatever concept Primordials had instead of health & safety standards:

>building this massively complex cosmic anomaly
>set up a porchlight and a dildo to keep everything you grow on it ticking over nicely
>suddenly, these random reality-controlling supercomputers show up out of nowhere
>most people think they'll build them in the future, but nobody can remember who specifically did so
>decide fuck it, might as well integrate them with everything else

I mean, even if the natural state of things is for you to be invincible to everything except your siblings, when you're building a house and some strange shit shows up on the doorstep one day.

The correct response is NOT to build it into everything else without wondering further.

He takes being a miserable magic private detective to conceptual levels, to the point where later on its' explained his family is an entire lineage of those destined to spit in destiny's eye, humiliate gods and laugh at human limits.

Though like anon said, in some runs he's just such a failure of a human being his awfulness ruins the life of everyone around him.

Don't get me wrong-he can and has be physically overpowered, outwitted, he's not even that good a wizard relatively speaking. The problem is that he fights so dirty he has some sort of inconsistantly canon but powerful plot armor that lets him get even at the cost of losing everything dear to him.

I'm genuinely curious what would happen if he ever ran into Medaka Box's Zenkichi, since his Abnormality specifically nullifies coincidence.

Questions for Cenanon about Elite Dangerous:

Why is the Star Map 600 cp? It only works in settings with existing star charts which just makes it a time saver at best, even if it did what I think you meant for it to do it would still be overpriced.

Is the ships section finished? Some of the categories have un-included ships that would fit the price points their category lack.

Do the larger ships come with the small non-FTL fighters they are stated to be able to launch?

Can the Androids/Clones/Slaves fly the above mentioned fighters, the main ship if I want to fly one of the fighters, and/or any additional ships I buy other than my main one?

Don't worry, they're all way in the past. From what little I know his Victorian ancestor Johanna Constantine seemed to be much nicer, more of a lady adventurer who took a commission from Dream at one point to rescue his son Orpheus and managed to die peacefully at the age of 99.

Imminently doable as a first jump. The difficulty scales depending on how you build and what drawbacks you take. If that seems like an obvious statement, understand that it scales rapidly depending on how you build.

But if you do it right it's not a bad way to start the chain. If I wasn't a purist I'd consider starting there.
>>
>>50847254
Then probably not horrifyingly dangerous, assuming you don't take any particularly vicious drawbacks.
>>
>>50847108
True, I might just expand the star map so it has data on all systems.

>Some of the categories have un-included ships that would fit the price points their category lack.

I tried to make it so all the categories had at most 5 ships. Most of the nonincluded ones were either too ambiguous as to what category they were in, or they were like the keelback - and I couldn't decide what to price them at because 2,3, and 4 were all taken and anything above or below would be mispricing it, anything inbetween causes funky math with the discounts.

>Do the larger ships come with the small non-FTL fighters they are stated to be able to launch?

I'm going with No. When I update it, though, I'll offer them for sale.

>Can the Androids/Clones/Slaves fly the above mentioned fighters, the main ship if I want to fly one of the fighters, and/or any additional ships I buy other than my main one?

All of those can pilot ships, though androids will be inefficient unless modified and slaves and clones will require training.

I intend to update it ideally tommorrow. I'm planning on dropping another jump tonight/tommorrow, which has my focus right now. I know it's a dumb move, but I'm almost done, so I've got tunnel vision.

Depending on perks/drawbacks it's perfectly doable as a first. Well, considering that Marvel is doing some major house cleaning right now who is and isn't safe is really up in the air. I wouldn't be surprised if they had a major event within the next year or so that more or less amounted to a reset button from which many characters do not return.

Disney's purchase of Marvel, coupled with some other friction-creating events between published and cinematic Marvel, is shaking things up. Add all that in with lower readership and it's not a good time to be a print Marvel character.

It's nothing personal kid. >teleport, katana, fedora, etc I thought your decision to move ahead on a Bleach jump was tactless, and the answer you gave on it, it's for SB but not /tg/, as if the two weren't increasingly permeable, was passive-aggressive at best. I also think that the Gamer jump is just a shallow powergrab or the Gamer power. Sure, given time there might be enough in the setting to warrant a jump. Right now though it's just about grabbing a neat power, and your house isn't above making power grab jumps.

So like said, it isn't you, I don't wish you ill, but I do think you've made some decisions that have earned you some bad PR. For the record, I have no issues with your other jumps, but your decisions in those two instances have made me a bit skeptical toward you and I don't think I'm alone in that.

Having said all that, it is Christmas so I wish you and yours the best.

>True, I might just expand the star map so it has data on all systems.
That would be nice, also perhaps make in easily translatable to ships/maps for ships from other settings? Would still be overpriced though as it does nothing for you in jump.

While it might (debatably, depending on the setting) be worth it for use in other jumps you'd then be offering a feature that is almost mandatory for keeping your ships useful post jump as an origin capstone.

Despite the complaints I'm really liking it so far.

>*for the Gamer power.

>>50846412
The world was originally one. The split situation is artificial. At the end of the game, Martel fuses with the tree and become the Mana Spirit. As Tales of Phantasia shows us, the situation works fine until humans start using magitech doomsday weapons, which drain too much of the trees mana at once for it to recover and will eventually kill it.
>>
>>50847585
>Would still be overpriced though as it does nothing for you in jump.

...Not really. I think you might have misinterpreted it (and I'm sorry if I'm wrong) - it does the work that explorers are paid to do, upon all systems, for free. It doesn't just let you know about the location of every system and the paths between them - it lets you know the exact celestial bodies located within each system (in the galaxy, if I buff it like that) and the exact chemical composition of each. If you're trying to get into literally any business, that is quite obviously useful, especially in this jump where a variety of resources are in demand.

I did definitely not mean to send the message that they'd be needed to make your ship have basic navigation and FTL function - I'll take another look at that when it comes to the update.

Glad to see you're liking it!
>>
>>50847584
>it's for SB but not /tg/, as if the two weren't increasingly permeable, was passive-aggressive at best
Except this is more a byproduct of behavior from people here rather than his choice of where to host the jump.

>>
>>50847463
>Honestly, I'm curious. Did I do something to make you dislike me?
You have done a few not necessarily bad but definitely questionable things.

The Gamer jump for example is looking good but has some serious issues, overpricing/punishing people for taking the OTB isn't the best way to deal with it especially when the response will likely be to just suck it up and take the OTB anyway.

That said the gamer is a tough power to deal with, you have to offer it because it is what people wants yet balancing it against the rest of the jump must be a nightmare.
>>
>>50847661
Don't go for the Loom directly. It's very heavily guarded. Instead, change the circumstances that the Loom works with. The more people there are manipulating Essence, the less certain any prophecy is. So give everyone awakened Essence. However, if you do that, their prayer will provide less nutrition to the gods, since they'll bleed away less Essence to be carried along on prayers, so you'll want to make some other power source for Yu-Shan. This will probably cause Yu-Shan's society to collapse even further than it already has, though, so you'll want to institute massive reforms of the Celestial Bureaucracy, first.
>>
>>50847679
No, before I was limited to once a jump per resurrection perk. Companions come back endlessly, but I fanwanked that temporary perksharing would just reset when I took the perk back, so I couldn't train them that way. The only way to give the perk to my companions before was to use Sacrificial Bestowment, which I don't have yet.

But now I can give them the perk permanently, and increase the resistances once a week.

>Gamer isn't meant to be a powergrab, though I can understand why you might view it as such. It's actually more expensive than the previous version of the jump, for what it's worth.
I've heard you say that, but do you honestly think that anyone is not going to double down and pay whatever you're asking to get the Gamer power? I appreciate you're trying to balance the jump, I do, but I think we should be honest here and say that the only reason anyone is going to jump it is for the Gamer power. The setting isn't particularly interesting, and the characters aren't anything to write home about.

Jumps can be about gimmicks and propriety powers, plenty of jumps do that, but that jump is going to just be about doing whatever it takes to get that power. To me that smacks of a power grab. It isn't about the setting, it isn't about the unique ways to make a marquee power do this or that. There's only the one offering people are interested in.

Again, Merry Christmas.

The way they've balanced the jump the other powers are on par with the gamer or at least are intended to be. It doesn't blow them out of the water powerwise. Everyone is still likely to get it because it's the interesting power of the setting but I don't think it's a one true build jump.

With time it there might be enough in the property to warrant a more rubust jump, but right now it will be a one true build jump. Think if of it like Jojo: everyone loves their stands, and lots of people get stands, but there are offerings in the property, and thus the jump, beyond that. I didn't grab a Stand, I double down on Harmon and Spin; I know others did too.

Even as I use Jojo as an example, it's not a perfect analogue. Stands can have some variety; it's a single perk that can have all sorts of different expressions. The Gamer power is what it is.

I'm not saying there couldn't ever be a Gamer jump, I'm just saying there isn't enough in the property right now for one because it's only going to be about the Gamer power at the moment.

Trying to balance things by overcharging for the thing that everyone wants isn't the best idea, especially when everyone will take it anyway.

Rather than just increasing the price and penalties for the most attractive option why not add other options that are just as attractive? It is hard but not impossible, the Company's nonsense in particular is very attractive.

>Pretty much, yes. It's a bit of instant power vs infinite power. People keep choosing infinite, which is... irritating.
It is a point of note that everyone has infinite potential, the gamer power is just a tool for optimizing growth while adding a few cool features. Remember how time has come recently? With potential and enough time anything is possible in the abyss, the gamer is particularly good at it but it isn't special in regards to having the ability to grow to ludicrous levels.

what is sounds like. the MC start to opereate on RPG mechanics like HPregen, skill books and improving skills by just using them over and over. its heavily based on asian MMORPGs there is a halfdecent offical translation here: http://www.webtoons.com/en/fantasy/the-gamer/list?title_no=88
>>
>>50848012
The Gamer is a korean webcomic with your typical hidden fantasy action series setting. In addition to various wizards, chi martial artists, etc, there are "natural ability users", kind of like magic mutants. The protagonist, Han Jee-Han, is a natural ability user whose power lets him operate like he was in an action RPG. He has a health and mana system instead of ordinary physical limits, he can store things in his inventory, he gets a numeric description of all his capabilities and skills, he can raise his stats and skills through grinding them instead of proper training, and he can learn skills instantly by absorbing books (though he has to meet the stat prerequisites). It's that last one that people really want, everything else is already available throughout the chain.

>Medaka Box's Zenkichi, since his Abnormality specifically nullifies coincidence.
You know, the version in the jump we have, I haven't read the serious and thus couldn't tell you if it's the same there, specifically mentions that it doesn't work if there's an explanation for why things are going your way. I.E., someone is manipulating things behind the scenes. Would luck perks be able to bypass this since they're basically "being lucky IS my power?" Would more explicit probability warping powers be unaffected?

Originally, it was just letting my companions murder me once at the end of the jump. But this time, I'm going to be systematically killing them over and over again. Sure, they're from SBURB. This is normal for them. I'm still kinda freaked out about helping to kill my friends personally, rather than just sacrificing them in combat.

Especially Vriska. Your wife is not supposed to be this happy when you murder her to make her stronger. She's always so... frisky right when she comes back. And the rapturously happy look in her eye when I finally break through her defenses to stab her... God this is fucked up.

>>50847987

>It's a magitech robot, not a companion.
You know, those aren't mutually exclusive.
>>
>>50848028
Honestly the difference feels like a matter of semantics, and in this case people are wary of the power.

There are plenty of manga out there with similar powers. A lot of those are Japanese isekai mangas, and if those eventually get made into jumps, the Gamer jump will quickly shift away from being a OTB if the power can be gained elsewhere. Exclusivity is the only thing that the Gamer power has going for it right now.
>>
>>50848106
That's what the jumpmakers have done, m80^2.
>>
>>50848126
That doesn't seem like it would be overpowered, though - why is there any skub here?

>>
personally I think he should just post it.
Yes its a strong power but with the mandatory drawback and the splitting it works in my book. If your team is able to overcome the challenges of the jump trivially then you are already strong enough that the gamer isnt gonna overtake everything
>>
>>50848136
It's a Korean manhwa. One of the more popular ones, like Tower of God. Basically modern world set in Korea where magic and Gaia is a real thing. Gaia doesn't want magic widely known so if you try and spread it to the public then you die. There are learned ability users (ki, magic and etc) and natural ability users who get a power directly from Gaia that can't really be learned and is usually based on their personality/likes. The main character gets the ability to live his life like he's a video game character.
>>
>>50848162
You can technically jump anything, "mate". It's a matter of posting builds that's the issue. If you do it for an unaccepted jump, you're likely to get shot down.
>>
>>50848116
It also has a setting that is apparently expanded on in different IP's the author is writing, and which have explained that the setting is hellishly dangerous and the Gamer if so weak he's almost certainly going to get rolled without a power up of some kind.
>>
>>50848024
It was a long time a ago and I don't think I'd be able to track it down in the archives in any reasonable amount of time.

That said I remember the most notable ideas were:
>To have the Gamer as an origin that would cost most or all of your points, no other origin could get the gamer power but it would be free (included in the price of the origin) for the gamer power.

>To just give everyone the gamer power, that is what people are gonna want most anyway so why have everyone choose the same thing?

>To make the gamer power a general perk that cost most if not all your budget, basically the same as the first one but doesn't keep you from getting origin discounts.

Can't say if any of these are the best idea but your way of having to sacrifice literally everything else to get the power is just too harsh.

Last I saw it required you to take a special origin with no discounts on anything other than the gamer power, cost more than your starting budget just for the power on it's own, and required you to take a total de-powerment drawback (making taking the drawbacks you need to pay for the power even worse). And apparently it has gotten even more expensive. . .
>>
>>50848113
Yes, but this specific magitech robot isn't a companion. Unless you want to import it as one in a future jump.
>>
>>50848153
Skub in general is the idea of a generic controversy-producing object, which everyone has a strong opinion over, which they'd be willing to fight to the death for, just for the sake of argument, facts and usefulness be damned. In some ways, anything can be or become skub.

Because honestly there isn't much of a demand for it. Even the generic Xianxia jump is a perfect example of why a generic Isekai doesn't exist, there isn't enough interest and people are content just having one representative setting, Tales of Demons and Gods. The same thing will happen to a generic Isekai jump. This isn't even considering how the jump will be made to begin with.
>>
>>50848134
From what I can tell, it's because "the gamer's power" is the superior option in the setting. Like being a "proper" magic caster in the setting takes actual effort and you only improve the hard way, through years of study and practice and discipline.
Whereas The Gamer gets better just by grinding, so his potential rate of development is off the charts compared to nearly everyone else. A "start from behind, and end up in front" kind of deal.
>>
>>50848200
If he gets a power up he gets a power up. Things like this have happened in Bleach, they have happened in Tower of God, they've happened pretty much everywhere. The point is that the Gamer has been prominent only because he's the POV character, but it's already been proven that there's a world beyond the Gamer himself.

I was trying to infer that despite the apparent desirability of the Gamer power, and it's apparent level of power, it's supposedly pathetic compared to some of the things already revealed in the wider setting. It's not that an update will need to happen, it's that if you need to take crippling drawbacks (I haven't read the latest SB jump but discussion here indicates it is 'balanced' by a high price tag) to get it and think it will keep you alive through the ten years you may be dead wrong.

People really want the Gamer Power, to be honest it doesn't really offer anything you can't find else where and while special it isn't especially powerful in the setting (at least combat wise).

But despite that the power is a really cool concept, because of how cool it is the power needs to be priced higher and include penalties than more powerful abilities as otherwise people would just flock to the Gamer because cool.

Also since it formalizes and enhances the way people grow stronger in the world BLADE is probably charging for the parts that apply to everyone in the setting too.

>>
>>50848660
Take for example the Settings Menu, it is a little feature of The Gamer power that isn't significant enough for it's own perk and doesn't really fit in with any of the others. You lose out on it because it isn't in any of the perks that are supposed to make up The Gamer power, even if you pay all 1200 CP and take the mandatory drawback you still miss out on the little touches like that.

Then there is the Party bit, why is that in the companion section? Why is it limited in the number of people you can have in your party? Why can you increase the number? If it is the gamer power shouldn't it be however many Han Jee-Han can have, no more no less? It is just weird.

I actually like the WIP for the most part but the way he is doing the Gamer power just pisses me off.
>>
>>50848692
> it's got practical uses. It's not just blobs and body horror

That's good and all, but I'm curios what the extents of it are. Like can they imitate other animals or create complex organs like eyes or glands? I get that their ability to change their shape is phenomenal, but if you can only change your shape than that kind of limits what you can use it for, right?
>>
>>50848745
Decide which section the settings menu falls under, then fanwank that it's included. I'd say mind, personaly.

Party is like that because what we see in canon is rather open ended. We don't know a lot of his limits yet, so each purchase gets you eight party members, which is the companion limit.

If it turns out he has no hardcap on party... I'll increase the number per purchase, I suppose.
>>
>>50848745
This is an inherent consequence of the philosophy behind perk division and CP effects. Unless Cthulhu is willing to change his philosophy to use a different design model, there isn't going to be a very good way to resolve it properly.
>>
>>50848650
Does the Greenskin drawback mean that you actually eat peoples eyes or that people just think that you do?
>>
>>50848784
It means that you're from a race of people that go around eating people's eyes.
>>
>>50848767
They can form eyes and glands, but can't shapeshift enough to imitate other life forms. They were created as living tools, not infiltrators. If you need them to synthesize chemicals or forcibly manipulate matter, you're golden, but they're never going to sneak into a place. Well, not without oozing through the plumbing, at least.
>>
>>50848767
From what I understand it's absolute control over your shape and a great deal of control over your mass and density. So you could weigh tons and be human sized or weigh as much as a human and be the size of a house. So you've got that coupled with top shelf shapeshifting.

I don't know that it has the ability to grow new organs and the like, unless they're cosmetic.

It seems like it creates more problems than it solves; what if going forward a new ability of the gamer is introduced (among other things)? I mean part of it feels like you are intentionally nickle and diming people for every last aspect of one power when in most others they would be considered side benefits.

Not to mention that without out of context powers or allies the MC has due to dumb luck the jumper is almost doomed just for taking the power, Harem King isn't going to be protecting the jumper you know.

This is literally a catch-22 that he can't avoid, but as long as cthulhu doesn't leave and continues to update the jump as long as the author keeps writing, there are different ways to work out of it. Honestly, when Tower of God's jump hasn't been updated despite all the upgrades and power ups, the Gamer probably won't stir that much of a fuss after it gets approved.

Triumph only kicks in when you're already winning, and the Heroes having a stupid amount of training ability is canon to Hero Names in the setting. Like, the MC's mentor gives a huge speech bitching about how a Hero can master something in a night that a Villain would take 20 years to master. I can reduce the amount of training time you get if needed though.

Neat jump. What does Bless's ability to kill demons mean in other settings?

If I'm reading NOTICE correctly, it basically gives you a bunch of super senses, including some universal or cosmic awareness and vastly magnifies all of your existing ones, right?

>>50849065
So with the Gamer Power you have to take a dedicated origin, a major mandatory drawback, pay all your points +200 more (from more drawbacks), and then do absolutely nothing for the rest of the jump while praying that no one notices you.

If you want to do ANYTHING in the jump you must take another 400 points of drawback that you really can't deal with in your current state to buy the plot armor perk while wanking that it gives you the same kind of protection the Harem King provides the MC.

Isn't this a bit much for one power? It is a cool power but fucking hell this is horrifying.

Triumph also means that even s light advantage generally guarantees you win. That's a lot more then just making sure you look good when you've won and it's certainly worht more then 0 points.

A x30 at least training multiplier is too much to offer for a completely free option.

>>50849131
All this says to me is that in trying to prevent OTB he has potentially created an option that nobody will take completely, especially if another jump does come up with a similar or superior ability, at a cheaper cost.

Dan Ui Guild was well aware of his presence before that, thanks to their own information grid. Bora confirms that they've been keeping him under observation since he got his ability, and potentially knows more about his ability than he does himself.

>>50849170
Anon that's not how modern people think of it and you know it.
>>
>>50849165
Names have a limited amount of power to give you. If you get a slight advantage over Darkside, you're still going to get shitstomped.

I'm willing to cut down the Hero's training advantage though. I mainly had it at that because, again, the canon character was bitching about /20 years/ worth of learning in a night, a month's seemed significantly more reasonable.
>>
>>50849173
Really? What do you call learning a month's worth of stuff in a night then.

>>50849202
Plenty of jump makers generate hype, it is as endearing as it is obnoxious. It is also something of a tradition. Let him have his fun.
>>
>>50849193
It'd be reasonable if, like the 200cp perk that does exactly the same thing, you paid something for it. If you're getting it for free that's too much.
>>
>>50849212
I think this thread agrees with your parents on something, you know.
>>
>>50849157
>Welcome to my world.
But wait it gets worse! In order to survive the smaller threats beneath the Harem King's radar MC also needs to grind endlessly and rely on his friends. The needed willpower perk and minimum of one strong companion purchase puts you above the drawback limit just trying to not die to the in setting consequences of having the power.
>>
>>50849091
I think the only concern should be whether Hero, Ambiguous, and Villain are balanced against each other. They are free and mutually exclusive, and if the abilities are based on canon there is no reason to gimp the jumper.

Also, there is one 200 cp perk that grants you similar levels of training time. If you nerf the hero origin, then that would be slightly out of balance with the rest of the jump.
>>
>>50849212
You're being far too optimistic, it's probably just >>50849202

for some obscure strategy game or something that no one cares about or will ever jump.
>>
>>50849219
>>50849197

I'd call it "reasonable" and it's fucking retarded that you're claiming it's "too much for free"? There's no such thing. Also, get kek'd with your inter-jump balance. If it fits the setting, and it's present in a group of characters, it's fine to offer it for free.
>>
>>50849179
Citation please? Because reading 153, all I see is 'we are watching you'.

No indication that they knew when he got his powers, oh have any form of precog.
>>
>>50849228
Doesn't the existence of the 200cp perk mean hero should be nerfed? The perk doesn't really seem like it's worth the money if you can get it free elsewhere in the jump.
>>
>>50849214
Most people are too lazy to make a jump just to start a shitstorm. Most people are too lazy to make a jump period. Just look at the people who have made the most jumps and see how many of them there are.

Man the MC of Kamen Rider Kabuto makes me want to punch a puppy.

Okay, so. Clock Up is a big enough deal that I'd give a 'rental' Zecter or temporary access to the ability, and you'd have to pay to keep it. Hardest background to 'balance' is going to be a Native, since the Worm can both perfectly imitate their victims and naturally Clock Up after a charge up period. Other backgrounds are more personality-based and have to do with the various Riders.

What I'm lost on is equipment. If Zecters are an umbrella item for humans, what should the other backgrounds get aside from novelty items? My binge of Kabuto isn't done yet, so I'm taking suggestions.
>>

>>50849229
I'm not wrong. She dropped them, that's the best thing she could have ever done. We all knew it was going to be shit, her "perks" for black crusade were far too weak for the setting and her special snowflake mechanics for part 2 were retarded. All we need to do is get someone competent to replace them and have Reborn/mib finally take back Warframe when he finishes remaking Hitman Reborn and fix her mistakes.
>>
>>50848650
Is there meant to be an option to buy your location? Otherwise my 16yo Foundling is going to find themselves with no papers in the Tower... just how screwed am I? should I just take the Tower drawback for +300 since I'm already here?

Also, are perks discounted by origin and are 100cp perks free or half price for origin (since that seems to be a thing in some jumps now)?

Not sure if you're reading a translation or straight Korean, but Bora mentions the moment that Jee Han became the Gamer, and why he needed to be observed since he was a special case. She also describes the breakdown of his power even though that should be something limited to just a certain group of people. The precog can very easily be Eye of Hwanung, since Hwanung's significance is massive in Korea.

It's Christmas or soon to be as much, so can we be honest with one another?

I feel really bad for you. I do. I've got PTSD, two tours in Iraq, so I'm pretty numb most of the time. Even with that, I can find things that entertain me. I have things I can turn to that genuinely engage me, that distract me from the world and myself and let me have fun and waste a little time.

I've watched you shit in this thread for years. Now I know folk who enjoy smashing things, but that's not even what you're doing. You're just acting shitty. That's the only way you can find release and enjoyment. You have no sense of fun or joy, you have only the broken jollies of a fucked up kid kicking other kids sand castles over. Much like that kid, you could be building things too. You could do it with us or you could do it by yourself. You either can't or won't build though, and that's what's sad.

So while other people get mad at you for fucking with things or for playing both sides of the argument in order to start shit, I just feel sad. I feel sad because you can't generate your own fun. Fun for you will always be this contingent zero sum experience, in order for you to have it there has to be someone else and you have to take it from them.

That's just sad; that's why I pity you.

So, Merry Christmas Mr. Shitposter. I hope things look up for you and you can find something you really enjoy someday.

It's very easy to learn Korean, very hard to become fluent in it. Reading Korean isn't actually all that difficult because they don't use Hanja all that often unlike Japanese, who tend to abuse Kanji for proper nouns. Learning the basics of reading takes like a week of study max.
>>
>>50849334
It's... typical High Fantasy? Particularly powerful Named can smack around entire battlefields (The current Warlock is one of the Calamaties and has done stuff like modify Creation in order to drop a meteor on someone), and the Dread Empire has done things ranging from flying cathedrals that rain fire down upon their foes to an invisible army to flesh eating tapirs, and apparently the Gnomes suppress all technological advancement with the threat of annihilating the empire that investigates it, but there's the general understanding that no matter how powerful, if you shove a sword through someone's chest or cut their head off, they're probably going to die.

Does the Hero's Training perk stack with the learning benefits of choosing to be a Named Hero, or was your idea that the perk allows you to learn everything fast while the freebie only allows you to learn your title/aspect traits fast?

Still no answer. What a surprise.
>>
>>50849387

>>
>>50849400

>>
>>50849405
No. Certain spells can ID if you have a Name and what the Name is, but it won't tell them if you're a Hero or Villain.

So one of my drawback ideas is that the 'Tendou is better at literally everything' drawback applies to the Jumper. Unlike other scaling enemies, he's not out to kill you, but will constantly take the spotlight or annoy you if you try to vacation, and be a smug prick about it the whole time.

Here's what the Stand Generator says to that!

Stand Name: Little Lies

Stand Ability: [Equality](http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Equality)

Power - D

Speed - C

Range - A

Durability - D

Precision - A

Potential - A

Description: The power to make an opponent and yourself equal on all terms. Variation of Limitation Inducement. The user can make a target their equal by bringing that person to their level or by rising to their level. The user can make an even match against anyone. The user can also grant people without powers the abilities necessary to be on an equal level.

This could go horrible places if you let it.
>>
>>50848658
What's the difference between a Name, Role and Title? Or are they interchangeable terms for the same thing?
>>
>>50849893
A Name is your class, a Role is your faction/destiny, and a Title is that aesthetic thing that most people won't really care about.

Oh, dear me. Nevermind, forget about that.
>>
>>50849884
Personally I feel that 'Stand Generators' are dumb.
They just spit out a random ability with random stats.
And it takes it's cues from the superpower wiki.

Aren't Stands supposed to have names appropriate to their abilities or appearance or something?
I'm not huge into JJBA, but it doesn't feel right that, for instance, a Stand called 「Wave of Mutilation」 could make plants grow faster, or heal people, or something else equally incomparable to it's name.

Kingdom Hearts Christmas update!

Minor formatting touch ups, like replacing the tattered paper under the Race selections with Jiminy’s Journal pages.

Made it so you don’t need to tag along during the ‘Sora is alone’ portions of Plot Bound, or be right near him while he’s asleep. You can also do your own thing in between games. Also added a ‘undo’ effect to get your memories back post Chain of Memories. Specifically noted that with this drawback you can’t significantly change the plot.

Noted the Gummi ships can find ‘new’ systems post jump so you don’t get stuck in a cluster of systems.

Changed Oathkeeper’s separation to just take a few hours and stop a new bond being made for a few days, instead of being very painful and taking weeks.

Clarified Holographic Jumper is the plans to make multiple holographic disc stores. Also noted people won’t think they’re strange.

Reworded Pixie Dust’s top flight speed slightly, now it’s just your running speed instead of ‘normal’ run speed.

Pixie Dust now refills under the light of the moon, not just full moon.

Dream Eaters get more active Dream Eater’s with other perk purchases, similar to the other summoning perks.

Don't even talk to me about Stands.

Here. Have a few Stands.

Stand Name: Sanctuary - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTUq3Ik1GHM
Power: D
Speed: C
Range: A
Durability: B
Precision: C
Potential: A
Ability:
[A New Land] - Sanctuary is able to enter into the soulscapes of others as represented by various memories and important places in the psyche, similar to Magicant or Psychonauts mindscapes.

[What's Left of Me] - Sanctuary may leave a sub-stand, [Angels in Flight], within the mindscapes accessed through [A New Land] and leave them there even after the Stand has exited. The Stand-user is also able to unconsciously communicate with people who have [Angels in Flight] present within their soul.

[My Heart's a Battleground] - If a spirit, ghost, or intangible entity would attack a person who has [Angels in Flight] present within them, Sanctuary may activate [My Heart's a Battleground] and drag said entity(including Stands) into the landscape accessed via [A New Land] where [Angels in Flight] is able to alert the host to the intruder. The Host can then use their strength of will or even a Stand if they possess one to attack

Sub-stand: [Angels in Flight]
Swarm-type Automatic Stand
Power: B
Speed: B
Range: D
Durability: A
Precision: C

I have yet to go to CoCo but my Jojo Stand is:

Stand Name: Tribute
Appearance: Heavily bandaged humanoid. Eyes are violet and it wears vagabond clothes, wool cap and a canvas trench-coat notable, over the bandages, which show through holes and such.
Power - C
Speed - A
Range - E
Durability - A
Precision - A
Potential - A
Ability: At it's core Tribute works on the principles of Causality Reversal but is limited in scope.

This isn't the Greatest Song in the World...: By using the ability to create a paradox Tribute can spoil forms of future sight/Precognition/Etc. from effecting the Stand and Gaunlet as they don't follow the timeline to fulfillment. This can exhaust Gaunlet as if he were putting in six times as much effort into every motion. ()

(Awakening) Down a Long and Lonesome Road: Using it's power to cause more than physical interference by enforcing effects that extend to rewriting or damaging natural laws, Tribute, and Tribute alone, is able to interfere with supernatural phenomenon, blocking magical lightning as if it were a physical blow, dodging time stops, striking the magical energy within a barrier are all examples.

(Requiem) ...it's just a Tribute: Cause and effect are reversed for the duration of a single action allowing Gaunlet to survive once but this seals Tribute away for a year and a day. Sadly this one won't work out as I'd have to die, and it doesn't count as one of my 1-Ups.

I should probably get to sleep, but phone posting until that happens, so yeah. Ignore auto incorrect please, and won't be able to check my own jump.

Name and Role are interlinked, but not identical. Your Name is who you are, similar to a class in an RPG. Ranger, Black Knight, Bard, whatever. Your Role, however, is what function you serve in the overarching story that spans Creation. So stuff like "protagonist" or "Big Bad". Roles aren't formalized, but Names are. Titles aren't an actual thing, and apologies if I implied they are. That was just supposed to give you an idea as to what sort of thing counts as a Name.

Anyway, as an example, Squire is a Name. Her Role is probably something like "Replacement Villain when the Original Big Bad gets knocked off"

Have another Stand

Stand Name: Redlight King
Destructive Power: B
Speed: B
Range: B
Durability: B
Precision: B
Developmental Potential: A
Ability:
[When The Dust Settles Down] - Redlight King is the transformation of the old Stand, Vengeful One, that also represents Romulus' attempt at redeeming his own soul - erasing the vengeful and blind monster he had become. What Redlight King represents from this point onward is the potential within one's destiny, and the control they hold over it - which manifests in its ability. Temporarily, Redlight King - an Automatic Stand - can 'free' someone from their earthly bonds and take their consciousness on a journey through space and time to show them all of their possibilities; All of their potential successes, all of their potential failures, it reveals everything. What Redlight King doesn't show is how that person reaches any of those points, nor the context in which they are displayed.
In a rather humorous twist, Romulus has NO control over Redlight King in any regard - the Stand being independent enough that should it wish, it could secede itself entirely from it's Stand-User and become a Companion in its own right. A fitting state for the Stand of a man who dedicates himself to breaking unjust chains of control and servitude.

Look, you really should reconsider how you want to do it. I know the Gamer power gets wanked to hell and back but while Jee-Han is able to make great strides with it it's all because he keeps getting into some seriously dangerous situations which let him earn XP faster than he would if he was just training (and a lot of grinding being done in time distortion IDs). And he's STILL basically nothing in comparison to what we've seen is out there in the Abyss.

The fact of the matter is that the Gamer setting has tons of stuff just as badass or moreso than the MCs gimmick. When the series is based around The Gamer, the jump is called The Gamer, it doesn't make much sense to try and make the cost punitive.

All it does is lock out ninety percent of the rest of the stuff you've put in for those who do want the option, and if you balanced the jump around how EVERYBODY in the Abyss can reach great heights then there's no reason to single the Gamer out.

An ability stand named Take On Me, it allows sharing powers with a touch, either a single power or weaker copies of several powers. The stronger the sharing, the more dramatic and apropos the accompanying cinematic effects (ranging from a small glow and hum to a full angelic chorus or krakathoom and god-beams streaming down from a suddenly stormy sky) but also the longer the time before the stand will work again. The recipient appears to be cel-shaded for a few seconds to minutes, gradually returning to normal as they adjust to the power, but must then practice using it to develop its strength and make it truly part of them or it shall fade away.

Stand Name: Blue Aeon
Destructive Power: E
Speed: A
Range: A
Durability: E
Precision: B
Developmental Potential: A -> E
Ability: Manifesting as a blue harpy with a red gemstone inset in her forehead, Blue Aeon's ability is to manifest shimmering blue flames that are capable of igniting any surface - with a twist. These blue flames do not destroy, scorch, and reduce to cinders - instead acting as an agent of restoration. Broken objects are restored to their former state the longer the flame clings to them, wounds regenerating without even a scar - even capable of restoring lost limbs. If Alice chooses to focus on one particular flame's work, it becomes even capable of purification - scouring pollution out of air or water, burning away toxins, and even aiding an ill mind and soul in recovery.

>>50850337
>Well, as I said before, they weren't ever meant to become useless or anything close to it.
Even if you don't mean for it they are, this holds true for pretty much every setting's FTL ships though. Without a map of the setting's space compatible with the navigation system of the ship you want to use, space travel outside the local solar is more or less impossible.

Ah, but then the question becomes whether or not your ship can make a rough map of local space. And then we get into the question of how this could be done, considering relativity, and then [750 posts and 253 images omitted].

Ultimately, I guess the answer is fiat.
>>
>>50850354
Imagine what would happen if you tried to use a star wars ship's hyperdrive in any other setting. You either get lost or crash into somthing at FTL speeds because the map your ship's navi-computer/astromech droid is using is for the wrong universe.

The same holds true for pretty much every form of FTL travel.
>>
>>50850408 I will admit this anon has a point. the star wars OT jump specifically tells you about the nav problem with hyperdrives in other 'verses
>>
>>50850144
Missed this. Anyway, perk sharing would hang a Name. Like, a whole, unique Name for them, not just a single Aspect. Aspects are more like facets of the perk than perks themselves.
>>
>>50850390
>>50850408
Logically, if the setting makes reference to real-world stars and galaxies (e.g. the Milky Way) as in most sci-fi, couldn't the star systems be assumed to be largely the same? Barring cultural specifics (and Star Wars), obviously.
>>
>>50850425
Some drives work, some drives don't. Can't really say that just because the Star Wars jump mentions that hyperdrive will have problems elsewhere that other jumps are bound by the same restrictions.
>>
>>50850429
So... it would be a new name with new effects? Or...
>>
>>50850408
I...technically have to accept this.

I wonder how feasible it would be to design and produce droids capable of mapping viable star lanes in new universes. It probably wouldn't be too hard all things considering, the main issue would be time investment and materials. Both of which would be invalidated by that Conqueror capstone in the new classic Sonic jump off the top of my head. Probably a few others I'm not thinking of too.
>>
How exactly is the return function from the warehouse supposed to work?

If it is an alternate version of the same universe at the same time period then maybe, depending on the settings.

Otherwise no.

>You additionally may pay 150 CP to import a ship into this section, and have the modules and hardpoints from the purchased ship here become integrated into that one.

Just to clarify, we buy a ship for X cp, and pay 150 CP more, we:

#1. Get a copy of our new ship's modules and hardpoints integrated into our old one.

or

#2. Don't get a new ship, just its modules and hardpoints integrated into our old one.

Because if it's #2 that's IMO not worth the additional 150cp, but I'd be happy with #2 if it didn't cost the extra 150 CP.

>Insurance
It says used stickers replace every month, but it doesn't say how many you get in the first place.

Also, between the perks, the items and the ships your jump has already napalmed my wallet and now the upgrades might as well be FOOF. Please consider a separate ship budget for those of us who don't ladle our jumpers with drawbacks?

Hmm, speaking of drawbacks, Bounty: if it's not recognised by the major powers, does that mean it's been posted by some anonymous factor / crime lord / computer glitch / other? Does it require a Kill Warrant Scanner to detect?
>>
>>50850438
Yes. Names and Aspects are highly dependent on both the individual and the situation, because they're dependent on the person and their Role. Changing either can result in the Name itself changing. Some Names are actually designed for that to happen. For results of the share, fanwank responsibly.
>>
>>50850451
Why not? To use Star Wars as an example, I'm pretty sure Hyperspace lanes are less "metaphysical paths underlying the universe" and more "shit isn't present in this condensed space". Otherwise, everything should still be in the same (relative) place in space.
>>
>>50850450
You will never get an answer because the maker of the module doesn't make rulings anymore, so make up your own rules and don't talk about it.
>>
>>50850464

>>
>>50850400

Also, did you miss >>50850003 due to phone?
>>
>>50850493
I'm going to say no because actually designing a method for that would be insanely difficult and impractical. Or your Name can, but your Aspects won't.
>>
>>50850454
It's number 2. While I recognize that that's not worth it to some, it is to others, and it does provide the ability to snowball.

>but it doesn't say how many you get in the first place.

True. I'll put it in right now, you get 10 stickers.

>Please consider a separate ship budget for those of us who don't ladle our jumpers with drawbacks?

So, I did think about this, and that is part of the reason I gave the alliance a bonus. However, if other people report having an issue, I may give some more CP for this.

>Bounty: if it's not recognised by the major powers, does that mean it's been posted by some anonymous factor / crime lord / computer glitch / other? Does it require a Kill Warrant Scanner to detect?

Let's go with All of the above and None of the above at once - any one of them could have put it on you, and you can potentially hunt them down, but someone else will just replace them, you're not getting out of this.

As for whether it requires a K-warrant scanner: Yes, it will, but your name will also be on mission boards around the bubble, so people will come for you proactively.
>>
>>50850450
Supposed to? You get to go back to one jump for ten years once. You don't get more CP and it's just adding on ten years after the point your original jump ended.

Some people fanwank that it's completely different but that's how it officially is.
>>
>>50850437
Unless you have a map that updates between jumps, a way to make a new one in every jump, or a form of FTL that doesn't need any form of map you are probably going to get lost using any form of FTL in a non native ship.

It isn't a problem with the ships or their tech, it is a problem with jumpers. The ships will work fine and so will their drives, only you have no idea where you need to go, what coordinates to punch into the drive, and any maps you might use for either are for a different universe

>>50850476
If that was true you wouldn't have people crashing into stars in that setting, which happens more often that you might expect. Also you would still have no idea where anything is.
>>
>>50850450
If you bought the Return option, at the end of any of your normal jumps, instead of moving on to the next jump you can choose to go back to one of your previous jumps, continuing from the time you left (since time freezes when you leave a jump). This only works once.
You don't get more cp, but your drawbacks from the first time around are revoked, and of course you gain anything you picked up in the meantime.

So if you hit pokemon, then got your warehouse, then went to Infamous, then went back to pokemon, you return from the moment your previous pokemon jump ended, but with your warehouse and whatever you picked up from Infamous.

Some people think it's overpriced as-is (especially given the warehouse was made when there were only a few jumps, not the 700+ we have now), so they houserule they can use it once for every jump they've completed, some people houserule they get more Returns as time goes on, but that's all it is, houseruling.

Personally I go with "I get an extra use of Return every 100 jumps" but that's just me.
>>
>>50850513
Companions at the very least either need more CP or a ship budget. All my companions are Alliance despite me being Empire because they can't afford a ship otherwise. Sidewinder is a shit.
>>
>>50850559
Yeah, that much I can get. I'll give companions 300 CP ship budget, that good?
>>
>>50850504
I did, and no, though they do share similarities. However Bless is stronger within its scope and can kill demons. The magic perk gives you access to the settings magic, and training in moderate healing, light, and wards. So blessed is stronger, but the perk gives more flexibility.

Example: if healing someone to full with the perk would take 10 units of energy, the Blessed could just heal the army with the same energy, or heal them passively just by standing nearby. On the other hand, Blessed won't give light magic.
>>
>>50850504
Also, yeah, that concept works fine.
>>
>>50850450
You can, one time at any point in your chain, return to a past jump. No additional points, just another ten years there.

Most people houserule it as reusable; one every jump, 10 jumps, or 100 jumps are common intervals and some decide that they can stockpile returns.
>>
>>50850408
Well, technically, you have that problem with a Star Wars hyperdrive _in its own setting_. You need to have good maps because a hyperdrive by itself doesn't allow you to see where you're going, at best the cutouts will (hopefully) kick you out from any hyperspatial distortions (corresponding to massive objects or artificial anomalies) before your ship gets ripped to pieces.

New hyperspace route exploration in the SW galaxy basically consists of doing a long series of micro-jumps while taking measurements until you get to where you wanted to go, so you can then give everyone else the short version that takes only a few hops instead of hundreds or thousands. Dedicated explorer ships have better gravity sensors that can reduce the effort involved, but it still requires mapping.

tldr it ain't like dusting crops.
>>
>>50850576
Sounds good.
>>
>>50850602
True but it is worse in other settings as you don't have any map to start with and other forms of FTL have similar problems outside their native settings for the same problem. No maps, or worse, wrong maps.

>>50850659
Perhaps that was the wrong way of putting it - the power of one ship having the abilities of 2 ships is quite powerful in and of itself, and I do think people should pay for that.

Hoping to wrap this up soon, ideally by the end of the thread, so that I can post the new jump I've been working on next thread.

I already have a splat that defines my specialities and weaknesses. It's called my First Excellency.

That's the beauty of being a Primordial. It's not the cosmic power, or the vastness, or even the army of yourself. In an infinite sea of narrative, your story will forever be your own.

The other beauty, of course, is that with a little help from your peers you can learn new tricks over time. For example, I purposefully left some old jewels around for the dwarves to take infected with my version of Final Viridisence. I tweaked the Charm to not be fatal, but they're going to have a VERY bad day until they get the message. And thanks to Dark Claws Seize Dark Hearts, my own hive of scum and villainy will soon realise betraying me only results in horrible, horrible feelings of deepest despair.

I don't quite know what's going on, but I'm all for the triumph of order over chaos. Naturally, this can best be achieved by ending this insipid stalemate once and for all by weaving a tale of civil-that backlashes with an era of calm after the storm, which I will then exploit with my OTHER forms of narrative manipulation. So basically, long periods of spreading my Essence-and Her's, and Cecelyne's for good measure-to harmonise it with our mutual goals, followed by short periods of divine right to rule.

An interesting land. Here, a "villain" is someone who takes their destiny into their own hands, and a "hero" is one who enforces the status quo.

I wonder what that makes me for seeking to end the conflict by dominating all others with my own story.

Can companions still use some of their main CP in the ship section?
>>
>>50850621
It's pretty much a tradeoff. If you know exactly where you're going, SW hyperdrive is one of the fastest FTL methods around; if you don't, it's very much not. Meanwhile Trek's warp drive is comparatively slothful, but you can always see where you are relative to normal space and don't have to worry about hitting some uncharted planetoid the Republic Scout Service missed.
>>
>>50850688
I honestly thought you'd be doing more with Narrativium than anything else but perhaps that's because I've been reading A Reaper Man again.
>>
>>50850707
I'll go with yes on this one.

*tale of civil wars

Once again, my old enemy the post limit strikes again.

>>50850582
Just curious-what can magic do, in general, in this setting? That is to say, what's SORCERY capable of?

>>50850694
Aww, my own bad for missing that. Alright, let's fix this:

Drawbacks: The Girl Who Would Climb The Tower, 'Favored' By Dwarves, Overdramatic, Tropebound (1600)

Turn of Destiny (Free)
Hit Them With The Box (1500)
The Only Choice That Matters (1300)
Namer (1000)
Story Teller's Aid (800)
Named (+800 AP): Deva-Tiger
-VOID (1000)
-SUMMON (600)
-SORCERY (0)

Well, well. Ain't that a goshdarned shame? I really like narrative manipulation as an ace in the hole, but I suppose Namer's a rarer find that Story. And those Aspects have grown on me.

At least I can officially label Gaia's class as SLUT and the Unconquered Sun's as LOSER once I get back to Exalted.
>>
>>50850712
SW hyperdrives don't technically need hyperlanes. It's just that going without one is like trying to go down a freeway the wrong way at night without any car lights. You're liable to smash into something very hard.
>>
>>50848658
>VOID (400): The endless infinities, born from your nature... are you, perhaps, a demon? This Aspect is one of those who are lost, their very existence VOID. No power will detect your coming; not even mortal ones. If one wishes to find you, they must seek you out by the clues you leave of your existence.

So... Is this basically "immunity" to esoteric senses, or am I reading it wrong? Also, "mortal ones"? Are mortals really impressive, or is that supposed to refer to the mundane sight/hearing/touch/smell/taste package?
>>
>>50850734
Doesn't even have to be the wrong way. I've had my lights fail while driving home on a moonless night. Sudden pitch black at 100 kph. It was fucking terrifying. Very glad it was a straight road with no other traffic.
>>
>>50850716
How many of those big fuck off battleships do the major factions have?
>>
>>50850582
Oh, I didn't see any mention of training in the perk. I thought it was an instinctive thing, and was mostly attracted by the perk protecting your magic from corrupted or disrupted.
>>
>>50850719
Shoot, let's see. Okay, feats off the top of my head as I remember them:
Flesh eating tapirs
Pocket dimensions
Travel through Arcadia
Freeze an army(? I don't remember the details)
Smash into a pocket dimension
Lots of demon summoning
Transplant souls
Turn an entire kingdom into a pack of undead, and implied to be all at once IIRC
Good number of illusions
Throw around fire and lightning
Necromancy of the reanimate corpses type
Blood magic rituals to keep someone from dying when they really should have, and to keep an entire kingdom feed when it should be impossible (increases the harvests).
Hack the borders of creation to drop a meteor on someone
Throw up wards to ignore taking the meteor point blank to the face
Steal someone's drink
Detect the dude whose whole shtick is "I'm invisible assassin"
Detect demon corruption
Create a ward that prevents demon of corrupting from entering a city, then nukes it with lots of fire once it sneaks in through hiding inside a horse.

That goes under "other forms of narrative manipulation", actually. I've got quite a few others.

Let's see-apart from Discworld's own perks, I have Talecrafting from Changeling, I became Wordbound to Narrativium itself in In Nomine and during the jump I pulled every political favor I could get to apply for promotion as an archangel. I've also got the entire Fae-Blooded perk tree from your own gauntlet, Magnificent Bastard from No More Heroes, Holy Diver from R-Type and MELODY from /co/co/'s Bizarre Adventures, which my Remastered Stand is basically an endless font and conduit for.

If you wanna get technical, Spiral Energy and Exaltations are practically narrative effects once they really get going. So OBVIOUSLY, putting them together will make them cancel out, right?! It's like fighting fire with fire!

But yeah. Basically, I have lots of narrative, so I'm just gonna roll it all up in a big ol' conflict bat and swing for the bleachers at the right moment.

...one of the reasons I wanted to get my hands on the Scriptorium and Writ of Worlds was because I also happen to have Innstrad's The Magic Found In Stories. I'm not QUITE sure what happens when you write an artifact-spell-tale in the Correspondence, but I'm pretty sure it's going to be worth it.

>>50850795
Huh, so it's basically like Order of the Stick where it's vaguely D&D-themed?

>steal someone's drink

Pure evil. I bet that warlock didn't even use coasters.
>>
>>50850756
Mundane senses. The demon who has this in Canon (demons seem to go 5v1 against Named btw) apparent resulted in everyone straight up forgetting about an entire empire until it disappeared.

>>50850784
That would be because I'm an idiot and forgot to put out in that one. All of them are about 4 years or so of training.
>>
>>50850776
The wiki isn't actually clear on this, and neither are the devs. However, given that the galnet articles and community goals suggest their fabrication is a relatively big deal, I'd guess that they probably have a few hundred each, at maximum.

that makes an amount of sense, given how the Federation likes to give security licenses to small factions and corporations, and the Imperial senators retain much wealth and influence - these small factions wouldn't be able to afford the big fuck off shis, or just wouldn't see the point given that most of their small wars are against pirates and smugglers - hardly needing capitol ships. For those wars that do need them, few happen at once, meaning just a few hundred is enough.

Basically, not that many relative to some settings because the bubble isn't on a total war footing.

Hoping to get this uploaded by the end of the thread - speak now or forever hold your peace, etc.
>>
>>50850692
Why would anyone ever buy the ship upgrades? They are available for far less precious credits in setting, anything bought with CP needs to have some degree of improvement over normal.
>>
>>50850825
An A-rated, maximum class module on that level can easily set you back several million credits - hardly cheap stuff.

I should state that you do get them at A-level and Max level.
>>
>>50850815
I'm trying out builds now, but dealing with laundry rl. I'm not a sadist to my jumper, so no drawbacks means 1000cp not 1600cp (sometimes I wonder if jump-makers balance to the latter).
>>
Decided to do what I'm calling my 'Lonely Chain', which can't have companions. Despite the name I'll be taking options of things that aren't companions, things like magical items, spirits, and talking animals. For fun I'm also doing the jumps I made (Co-made with SpyroAnon in the case of Kingdom Hearts) first, followed by jumps I've imaged, then who knows where I'll go from there. Maybe I'll roll for it.

Start 150
Electricity -10 I'll want this when traversing the worlds, especially fantasy settings that might not have the tech I'm used to in the modern world.
Plumbing -10 Practically a must buy - in the aforementioned electricity deficient settings they also likely lack the facilities to make... well, facilities.
Heat/A.C. -10 I don't do very well in the heat... Or the cold for that matter.
ForceWall -20 Peace of mind.
Food Supply -10 Hopefully foods I'll eat, but given the situation I think I can make do.
Housing -20 A consistent house between worlds. Neat.
Medbay -20 Practically guaranteed for a frail man like me. I'm sure I'll be in here more than I care to admit.
Free Space -30 Just flat out useful.
Terminal -10 I have bad memory, ok? I wouldn't put it past me to get some cool thing, put it away 'where I'll remember it if I need it', and then find it years later and wish I hadn't forgotten it because it would have come in handy the week before.
Workshop -10 I'm not much of a tinkerer myself, but I'd like to be. This seems like a good opportunity, especially if I go to sci-fi settings.

>>
>>50850811
Wait, so is it /just/ mundane senses?
>>
>>50850845
Well, this is useful as all get-out. Getting me not just back in shape but far beyond human limits. I did want Senses, but ultimately decided on the physical basics being enough... also running damn fast for a long time could be useful if I get in over my head.

Start 600
Age 0 Extra Years
Build - Medium Free Average
Body Type - Athlete -100 Two ranks of Speed, Two ranks of Dexterity, and the Flexibility 1 perk
Speed + 2 -100 Usain Bolt on a motorcycle
Endurance + 4 -200 Run all day without tiring. Won't feel sore in the morning.
Evercleansed -100 My body naturally repels filth and mud. B.O. is erased as well. I will always be as clean as if I just got out of a shower. Good for travel.
Metavore -100 I will retain my physically fit body and appearance no matter how much or what I eat, so long as I am eating enough to not be malnourished.
>>
>>50850836
What what? I had expected purchased ships to be geared up like that from the start.
>All ships start with A-grade modules in one class below maximum.

Which reminds me why would anyone have any modules or weapons for that matter of a class below the one the hard point is designed for?
>>
>>50850811
So, The Only Choice That Matters is supposed to protect against things like becoming a Warlock by defying the Laws of Magic and falling to the Dark Side of the Force, right?
>>
>>50850857
[Spider-Man Trilogy]
10 Years Here
Start 1000
Age 30 Years Old
New York
Emotional Powers 200 Harsh, but hopefully I can keep myself under control.
Stutter 100 An actual stutter I can deal with, though this is bound to be annoying.
Unimportant 100 Forget the stutter, this is where the real pain is. I felt like this happened more than enough in my first life, to have it actually happening constantly will be... It's gonna suck.
Scientist Free Now I'm an actual smart nerd. This'll be useful.
Not So Ethical Science Free I'm not sure about this. Ethics exist for a reason after all.
Incidental Inventor -150 Holy crap. Being able to make useful things like Doc Ock's mechanical arms and more? Sold!
Beyond The Bleeding Edge -300 Holy double crap. Hover boards, room sized fusion reactors, this is flat out comic book science. This is just incredible.
Spider Bite -300 ... Y'know how people say the Spider-man 2 videogame was good because of the web slinging? I get to do that for real now. All the powers of the movie-verse Spider-Man quite literally at my fingertips.
Company -300 A company that will do chemical and robotics research for me? And turns a profit even without me getting involved? Looks like I don't need to work much from now on - that frees up time for tinkering.
Costume Free A variant on the movie costume, this thing even cleans itself daily.
Secret Identity -50 And now it's easily concealed and I can hide my normal clothes in a bag where they won't be found. Very useful.
PhD Free Lets go with Robotics for that. I obviously can do more than that, but it's enough to have that on paper.
Police Radio -300 Ooh, being able to track down crime, or have it just 'happen' to occur near me should be quite handy.

I do wish I'd been able to afford the Lab too, but the other drawbacks were way too harsh for me to take. Maybe if I'd had a few more of these 'jumps' under my belt... Ah well.

Writing is still here: http://pastebin.com/vTQQVq3w

Are specialties like origins in that explorer is the drop-in option and the rest give you memories, or can you take any specialty as a drop-in?
>>
>>50850862
Because such things often happen to be quite expensive - A-ranking and Max-classing your modules can lead you to pay double or triple the purchase price. Obviously, you want to build up to that, but you don't always start there.

Further, these are specialty modules - not the basic stuff the ship is equipped with. And hence you have to pay the full price from the beginning, which is quite steep.
>>
>>50850880
Yeah, the rest will give you memories, due to the need for contacts in order to be an effective trader, fighter, etc. Explorers are far better at just dropping in and doing their own thing, and as such they're the ones that get to be drop-ins.
>>
>>50850854
It's both. Magic can't detect you, mortals can't see you, Names won't sense you, etc. Out can be punched through with concentrated effort, but it's very nature means no one will concentrate that effort unless they already have a reason to suspect you, specifically, are there.

>>50850863
Yes. Though in Canon it's used by a Villain to keep from turning into a good guy.
>>
>>50850881
Class is size catagory, letter rating is quality. You stated that we start with the highest end version of the module one size too small for the ship.
>>
>>50850901
Yeah, and I said that because both of them have quite a bit to do with quality, and A-rated versus B-rated makes a much smaller difference than class 5 v class 4 internals. Further, a ship can usually sustain itself based off of internals that are one class lower.
>>
>>50850881
>Max-classing
Is proper classing, ships can't even function if certain vital modules are of the wrong size.
>>
>>50850924
Well, that's not been my experience with my Asp, but I might as well.

Internals will now be max-class, B-rank.
>>
>>50850845
Get a voice in your head.
>>
>>50850692
Administrator perk Incevation should be Incentivization?
>>
>>50850932
There'll be quite a few of them. Hopefully the kind that come with tangible benefits, but we'll see.
>>
>>50850845
Do this >>50850932
In fact, take every narrator perk there is.
You can have a bunch of voices in your head at all times.

Lonely, schizophrenic Jumper.

Also want to say that I loved your Spiderman Trilogy jump.
Well made and pretty.
>>
>>50850950
Honestly, nothing is better than going Abomination in Dune and having all your ancestors as company.
>>
>>50850931
Thank you. Also the ships section seems to imply that your ship will start out un armed if you aren't a fighter.
>Fighters receive twin autocannons and pulse lasers, explorers receive a fuel scoop, and traders receive a large-capacity cargo bay.

Might you just have the ships geared up to B Rank all around, with the specific components varying based on your origin?
>>
>>50850947
Nice catch
>>50850931

Added these changes.
>>
>>50850975
>Might you just have the ships geared up to B Rank all around, with the specific components varying based on your origin?

That's what I was going for - in the specific case that you mentioned, I'll add in a thing saying others get the starting pulse lasers.
>>
>>50850976
>All ships start with C-grade modules
Didn't you say B rank?
>>
>>50850997
Yeah, but I changed my mind, given that the distance between A and B is really small, and I didn't want to give everything right out of the gate with no room for improvement.
>>
>>50850974
Good plan.

These are the things I'm thinking of:
Dumb AI from Halo
Spirit of Twilight and Balance from Avatar
Motherbox from DC
Jinchuriki from Naruto
Talking Fox from Quest for Glory
Organoid from Zoids
Pet Owl and maybe a Phoenix and/or a House Elf from Harry Potter (also paintings)
Robot Bro and Lombax Ship from Ratchet and Clank
The NPC maid from Overlord
The butler from Batman Dark Knight Trilogy
Some items from Young Justice
The Dragonfly from Spyro the Dragon
... I'm sure there were some others... Anyway, relatively smart pets, and things/people that don't count as companions thus can't be imported, alongside lots of things like the Naruto Jinchuriki and Avatar Spirit.

>>50850973
Thanks. I will definitely be getting some narrator perks. Actually, does anyone know if there are narrator perks that you can respond to?
>>
>>50850976
What's the difference between the Scanning Equipment you can buy for 100cp and the scanning equipment that comes with your ship?

Gold - there was a couple of posts the other thread (or earlier?) which noted that 200 tons of gold only takes up about cube 2m on a side normally, and compressed gold would be an explosive hazard.

Artificial Crew - so basically whenever we buy or otherwise acquire ships, we can always staff them with a skeleton crew of dumb AI?

Artificial Crew #2 - if we have the perks/items/resources, can we use these as templates to mass produce more?

(might be more questions, still building)
>>
>>50851054
Anything DnD can get you a familiar, as well as choosing to be Teru scum in Ar Tonelico.
>>
>>50851054
Marvel MCU jump has Digital Ally. Counts as a companion, but isn't actually sapient.
>>
>>50850985
If the ships have a full suit of appropriate c grade internal modules shouldn't they have a similar arraignment of weapons?

Also some of the origins have items that really belong in the Ship Upgrades section, the fighter's first item is even a basic component that comes stock on all ships.
>>
>>50851066
Familiars, that's a good idea. Thanks.

Teru were the dragon people, right? What's so scummy about it?

>>50851072
Also a good one. Thanks!
>>
>>50851057
So for the gold, you're only really going to be trading it to get money to spend on bigger things if you use the item as intended. Of course, if you plan to get creative, and use it for engineering purposes, I can't be held liable for accidents.

Artificial crew - yes for #2, yes but they'll never be able to fully utilize the ships' capacities to their greatest extent for #1.

As for the scanning equipment - primarily, it's a post-jump thing, and also the bounty and skill evaluation, both of which would normally require a pricy K-warrant scanner.
>>
>>50851081
Baten Kaitos has guardian spirits, but they're not very talkative.
>>
>>50851077
Because Weapons aren't as universally essential as internals such as power plants and life supports for #1

For #2 - they're meant to be versions that are amped in some way - I discussed in the other post the nature of the fighter's scanner.
>>
>>50851054
Get a soul hierarchy from Infernals. Thats a lot to carry around so you probably won't be "lonely" in the slightest, but they're not companions unless you forcibly make them count.
There's also the dere swords from Hero BBS.
>>
>>50851095
Still a good one, thanks. That also reminds me of Elder Scrolls - the Dunmer have ancestral spirits, right?
>>
>>50851054
THA are you saying you're going to be the Jumper equivalent of a crazy cat lady? Cause that thought just made me spittake.
>>
>>50851086
>As for the scanning equipment - primarily, it's a post-jump thing, and also the bounty and skill evaluation, both of which would normally require a pricy K-warrant scanner.

That is still the basic scanner, the Kill Warrant scanner adds the ability to scan for bounties in all systems not just the one you are in.

>>50851100
>they're meant to be versions that are amped in some way
The above needs to be buffed just to match the normal capabilities of what it is supposed to be.
>>
>>50851105
Man there are a lot more options for this than I thought. Looks like 'Lonely' jumper isn't going to be very lonely after all, just no actual Companions.

>>50851110
Seems to be the case. Might grab things like the Jurassic Park and Carnivores parks so I can have a menagerie of animals from different jumps.
>>
>>50851081
>What's so scummy about it?
The Teru sabotaged Ar Tonelico, which caused part of the tower to blow up and shatter the core of the planet, ruining everyone's hopes of repairing the crack in it and dissolving the surface into magma and toxic mist that is actually the screams of pain and madness from the gods. Nearly killed everyone, only those that could reach the towers survived.

They did this because one of their seers told them that if they did, it would lead to the death of all humans, and the Teru wanted to genocide the humans. They didn't count themselves as human. The prophecy disagreed.
>>
>>50851114
You seem needlessly nitpicky.
>>
>>50851114
>That is still the basic scanner, the Kill Warrant scanner adds the ability to scan for bounties in all systems not just the one you are in.

Hmm. I'll add in the "all systems" thing as well as the giving of a short bio of each pilot you scan, and I'll give it a 10 km range - would that cut it?
