>Crabs: Slang for pubic lice, parasitic insects that can infest in the genital area of humans. Pubic lice are usually spread through sexual contact. Rarely, infestation can be spread through contact with an infested person's bed linens, towels, or clothes. The key symptom of pubic lice is itching in the genital area.

Sadly, the Typhon is not a work a Guilliman.

The Typhon was born when Pert looked at the Vindi and said "That gun is not big enough, put a bigger gun on it."

But there was no bigger gun.

So Pert made a bigger gun.
They put that gun on the Vindi but the Vindi broke.

So Pert built a bigger tank around the bigger gun. Because Pert thought "Fuck you, I want that has the same effects as a Warhound's Plasma Destroyer"

It's more that Perturabo looked at a Spartan and asked "What does it do?"

"It transports 25 dudes," the Mechanicum adepts told him, "or even 13 termies."

And Perturabo looked on this and saw that it was wasteful. "What it should transport," he spoke, "is a really big gun."

And the Mechanicum reflected upon these words, and saw that they were good, and decided that that's exactly what the STC said all along.
>>
>>50775317

So was the Cerebus someone trying to improve on Peturabo's Design?

Someone took a look at it and whent 'this is too short ranged and no good for killing tanks. Let's replae the big gun with a big laser gun' and then they got onto it?

Really, poor Peturabo always has his creations stolen and 'improved'. Imagine his face when he saw Guilliman's Fulmentaris Terminators for the first time.

I just had another proxy match of 30k, my Ordo Reductor (Actually working on them now, building/converting Adsecularis ATM) vs Iron Warriors Ironfire. Good god, the slaughter was wonderful

Turns out the 5+ FnP on the adsec actually made them tougher to Phosphex than the Tacticals, they managed to tarpit some Tyrants long enough for my Magos to deal with his Praetor and win me the match.

Sorry I haven't got pictures, but it was a proxy game anyway so it would take a shit ton of explaining on what everything is.

Officially it was a separate development - they found a wreck from the Dark Age of Technology and tried to rebuild it. The result worked, but with that feedback effect. Perturabo's version is usually more effective.

You'd need 3,000 points plus to use it. And I'm pretty sure 80% of players would not want to have to fight a Warlord Titan on it's own. I sure as hell wouldn't, my army has plenty of anti-Tank but it wouldn't even scratch the paint of a Warlord while D-Spam would remove buckets of Marines with every shot. Hardly fun or worth playing.
>>
>>50775468
If you're going after "other anti-heavy stuff" I'd take the Typhon, since anti-heavy stuff often includes Terminators with chainfists.

The Falchion IS the anti-heavy stuff. Great against titans, a little expensive to use against knights, poor value against most other things. I wouldn't buy one just to go after other Falchions.

>>
>>50776979
All the armour plates, really. Also, the head on the Lucius is different (though FW did release a Lucius style head for it), the turbo lasers were built into the shoulders, etc. Though to be fair, Apocalypse era Warlord rules included a drawing of the titan with current style turreted shoulder guns.

Quite frankly, FW could release a Lucius pattern armour plates and head as a separate kit.

It does mean it'd be pretty easy to make a Lucius-pattern titan. Keep the skeleton, add boxy plates (including over the shoulder humps). I'm guessing that was the plan.

I can't collect the pictures while at work, but there were two evolutions of the Epic-scale Mars-pattern Warlord titan. The second was the "Beetleback" that made it onto the front cover of some novel recently. No one really called it the Mars-pattern until the 3rd edition Epic model (the boxy one) came out and was labeled "Lucius-pattern". Forge World started up a year later and started calling curvy Baneblades "Mars-pattern" and boxy, riveted ones "Lucius-pattern," and continued the pattern on their titans.

The first Warlord was similar to the Beetleback but its shoulder plates were flatter.

There was an intermediate Warlord version known as the Milkfloat. It was boxy like the Lucius-pattern, but a little uglier.

There was also an Epic-scale Lucius-pattern Reaver but it was so ugly no one bothered to make a 28mm version.

It me, Destroyer Fix/Errata anon from last thread >>50768989

I made some more tweaks and present you the next version.

I fell asleep shortly before the thread petered out. I want to note that Head Hunters probably still need tweaking. Right now their base cost, kits, and rules are on-par with Mor Deythan and Seekers. Then they have unique upgrades that you can choose. Based on crunch vs those two other units HH are in a pretty good place. Where Mor Deythan can take 3 actual plasmaguns to keep shooting and fade, Seekers can stand and shoot with scorpius, and HH can use the basics of CQC and assault things. HH are the most different out of the three.

But like I said before, this errata isn't to govern you guys. I made it with the help of my group for them originally. I invite you to make whatever tweaks works for your group. Last thread had a lot of good points I'm still chewing on. And I appreciate the feedback and help catching typos.
>>
>>50778215
Only advice I can give you is accept the fact, move on and focus on something else.

Personally I've just spend as much time painting my army as I can, works great so far.
>>
>>50778198

That would be their maintenance of the Mammoth Steppe, and through that the reclamation of vast areas of Tundra from being merely frozen ground into the many sages and grasses of the Mammoth Steppe. Which would also help other animals such as the Saiga Antelope and the Siberian Tiger.
>>
>>50778287
Apothecaries limited to powerswords was fine by me. They're suppose to support units by keeping them alive, not be killing machines.

What I would have changed about the Cortus
>each penetrating or glancing hit, roll D3, on a 1 it loses an additional hullpoint
Is less rolling to remember than a dice at the end of every player turn. People already forget about IWND

Would still like to see bio-chem rounds for the bolt pistols, like the fluff says they have. Not sure what it should do ...

Would not do the Venerable and Ironclad for dreads myself. Crusade not really long enough for venerable, and Ironclad probably was a post-heresy invention

Rotor cannons salvo 4/6 sounds more fun. Drown it in dice !

Vehicles don't really need a buff in 30k.

Keep the plasmas for support squads at 15 points.

Headhunters need 2 attacks each and the same ammo as seekers on top of banestrike. That way they don't need expensive upgrades to do something.

Why would they EVER fire banestrike if they have access to scorpius rounds?

And seriously, a unit with 2 attacks, power daggers for more attacks/AP3, and AP2 shooting, all with preferred enemy, is really getting into the realms of "utter bullshit".
>>
>>50778701
Because Scorpius is Heavy 1, you still have a use for Banestrike.

And don't forget Headhunter kill teams are around the same point value as friggin' legion terminators. Even with all that I still have doubt they'll be worth their points.

Does anyone know if Forge World is discontinuing the Anvillus Pattern Dreadclaw.

>>

>175 points base, +25 points per extra
>"around the same point value as friggin' legion terminators"
Feck off ya idjit. They're not in that ballpark at all.
>>
>>50777904
It's funny how that goes. Mars pattern Warhound and Reaver are liked more than the Lucius ones, while Lucius Warlord is the best. I'm guessing the iconic Imperator is also Mars. Remember someone making a Lucius pattern Imperator, which was more of an extra large Warlord.

Wonder if they'll ever make carapace landing platforms for Titans like you'd find in Epic. They could count as like Skyshields for the special rule (ability to start the game on the board). Maybe treat each landing platform as having transport capacity of a single flyer. As long as the flyer is transported, it's protected by the Titan's shields, but can be independently targeted from the Titan.

Could make a nice tactical choice to have something like Lightnings parked on the shoulders, which can then take off if enemy flyers emerge or when there's no more AA to worry about.
>>
>>50778363
The problem is also that the birth of the Mammoth might kill the surrogate mother, and most people who own elephants don't want to risk it yet.

Legion Terminators
>175 points base, +30 per extra

Only the extra dudes are more points, and 5 is not that large of a point difference.

>What I would have changed about the Cortus
>>each penetrating or glancing hit, roll D3, on a 1 it loses an additional hullpoint
>Is less rolling to remember than a dice at the end of every player turn. People already forget about IWND
Now its roll at the end of movement, will probably reword it to make it actually activate the ability so you roll then and there. Less book keeping.

>Would still like to see bio-chem rounds for the bolt pistols, like the fluff says they have. Not sure what it should do ...
A previous version had them, but contributed to bloat. I'll add them back in as an option.

>>50778536
>Rotor cannons salvo 4/6 sounds more fun. Drown it in dice !
I'll run the crunch on this. Prelim numbers tell me that 10 rotor cannons at 6 shots are identical to 10 heavy bolters for killing marines. Mixed feelings on this. But heavy bolters will kill more 4+ and 5+ T3 models, and Rotors will kill more 6+ or worse models. That is very interesting.

But the you factor in salvo and the rotors at 15" are a lot better. I think upping them to salvo 4/5 might be the sweet spot. Heavy bolters are better when both are stationary, and have more range, but rotors have salvo. Ill keep running crunch.

>Vehicles don't really need a buff in 30k.
It's more from a sense perspective. Why would the combi bolter gunner shoot at the enemy tank when he could be doing his actual job and defending the tank from infantry.

>Headhunters need 2 attacks
That is a good point

Make it S4 and you'd get pretty much the same result, plus you'd be able to drown T7 models in wounds as well. All without needing more dice. 40 is plenty enough.
>>
>>50779098
>That such a weird and strange rule

Yeah, why FW thought Headhunters should have that is anyone's guess. It's such a weird, random limitation for a unit from a legion that can go mass infiltrate
>>
>>50779154
Plus with all of the crazy stuff that has happened this year a big-proto komodo might not be too far fetched. 2016 isn't over yet and it still demands blood.
>>
>>50779170
Eh I guess salvo 3/5 with Shred also works. I just like the idea of rolling for rotor cannons feeling like what they do : killing things by throwing huge amounts of mundane bullets at them.
>>
>>50778753
The model and rules can still be used until it gets written out of a red book. But it won't be. They're probably retooling the model and giving the new one a different model number. I hope, so anyway - the current one is a pain to assemble. It's so bad that I can't believe what they charge for it. Might as well get a recast.

It's simple, people like whatever was more recent (except in the case of the Eldar Phantom titan).

Here's the original Warhound. Most people call it Mars-pattern because it's curvy. It isn't terribly popular anymore.
>>
>>50779303
You're already getting as many shots out of them as a full Tactical squad standing still. At S4 they'd have the same strength and would thus give you the firepower of a tactical squad without needing to field one, and with extra range to boot. On the move they'd pump out 10 shots more than tacticals with 3" more range.

If you want to drown the enemy in dice, play Guard and make your blob FRFSRF.
>>
>>50779335
But the Lucius Warlord came after the Mars, so there goes that theory.

Personally I don't mind the Lucius Reaver, but the problem with it and the Warhound is that they're too bulky. It's not just Warhound or a Reaver with boxy armour, they actually have extra mass compared to the Mars pattern. If it'd had just been boxy plates instead of curved, I'm sure most people wouldn't have disliked them so much.

I'm guessing it's also the form of the titan. Look at Battletech mechs. The Mad Cat is an iconic mech and to some extent is the Catapult (basically the same without the arms). Both of them have a sleek round body. Meanwhile all the more humanoid mechs are boxier. So is the Lucius Warlord and even the Mars Imperator. It might be made of cylinders, but it still has a boxy profile to it, where as the Mars pattern Warlord looks skinny even with all those plates. It's like those baroque dresses that are suspended on a frame with the lady's legs somewhere in the middle. Lots of fluff and less substance.

Or something like that.

I asked FW the same thing, but I'm still waiting on their answer.
They said Infiltrate would allow units to overcome the Coils limitation (which would indeed be a waste as >>50780854 says), so I thought:
>What if what matters here is the squad is inside a transport, just not restricted to their DT?
I would think if that was the case it would specify that scenario like how it happens for Armoured assault, but it didn't hurt to ask.

My WIP of a MkIII Apothecary.
Once my greenstuff gets here, I will be adding more detail to the left arm, and I do have lights for the backpack coming as well.

The inspiration for this model lays in the main body of my space wolves force- they are comprised mostly of MkIII armored marines, and it would be illogical to have MkII/MkIV armored Apothecaries following those squads.

I also really like the way a MkII helm looks with a collar.

Maybe he could do with some ornamentation on his backpack (like a light or something, like 40k apothecaries have - Grey Knights and Deathwing have loose parts like that, for terminators though) to really set him apart as an apothecary, but other than that he's a good apothecary model, well posed too.

I'm surprised too how well that Mark 8 armour (Sternguard?) looks on the Mark 3. Did it require much conversion? Do you have a picture with him looking to the right of the camera, or head on? It's hard to see the lower parts of his torso from that angle.

Oh, and not to play devil's advocate, but there's one part missing - the "narthecium", which could be represented with a spike or needle-like protrusion on the chainfist arm, plus some more vials or buttons on that arm too. It could do with looking less like just a chainfist and more like a whole fancy construction for medical purposes.
Unless space wolves don't use anything but chainfists on their injured, ha ha!

Also, interesting choice of putting the chainfist on the same arm as the chainsword, but it looks like it works suprisingly well.

>>50783318
>anon
>>
>>50783293
Sternguard, yes.
I chose that torso because it still looks up-armored to MkII, has a robe like other apothecaries, and was just ornamental enough to look like a valued Marine, but not so much as to be confused as a Commander.
To fit on MkIII legs the hip plates needed to be pushed up, but otherwise it fits correctly with the back torso portion of the MkIII plastic set.

The lights are coming, and his Narthecarium is nowhere near finished, thought the two sets of tubes are the first sets of detail to be added.
Many of my bits are late to arrive, shipping being what it is this time of year.

Will be playing my final match for the year as Thousand Sons with the following rules. it's been a good year, now let's see how Inferno fucks my army choices up.

Models with the Legiones Astartes (Thousand Sons) have the following benefits:

Rule of Knowledge:
- The Warlord must possess an equal or higher Mastery Level than other Characters in the same detachment. This prohibits you from having a non-psychic Warlord.
- Preators and Consuls are ML1 psykers by default and can buy an additional 2 Mastery Levels at 35 points each.
- Librarians can be Compulsory HQs, have ML1 by default and can buy an additional 2 Mastery Levels at 25 points each.
- Characters can buy a single Mastery Level for 35 points.

Innate Potential:
- Characters harness Warp Charges on a 3+.
- Characters who do not have a Mastery Level still add one Warp Charge to your total.

The Flesh Change:
- If a model triggers Perils of the Warp, instead of rolling on the Perils table the caster suffers an automatic wound.
- If this wound kills the caster, replace the model with a Chaos Spawn controlled by your opponent. If the caster was part of a unit, that unit is locked into combat with the Chaos Spawn.
>>
>>50786417
Legion Wargear: Tutelary Companion
- Upgrade for any Psyker, 5 points.
- When Perils is triggered you can choose make an additional, separate roll.
- On a 3+ you ignore the wound inflicted by Perils of the Warp.
- If this roll is failed, you suffer the Perils wound and in addition your opponent controls the power: it is counted as originating from the caster but is otherwise treated as if cast by the opponent for the purpose of valid targets.

Prosperine Secrets:
- After generating their powers, a Thousand Sons psyker may choose to replace one power with a Prosperine Secret appropriate to their cult.
- Pavoni: ML2, blessing on self and unit, can move again, no effect on other phases.
- Corvidae: ML2, 24" blessing on one friendly unit, can immediately snap shot their weapons, no effect on other phases.
- Pyrae: ML2, 24" blessing on self and unit, ranged weapons gain S+1 and Gets Hot.
- Raptora: ML1, blessing on self and unit, charges against the unit are reduced by 3".
- Athanaean: ML2, place a large blast marker within 12". Models attempting to LoS through the marker must pass a Deny the Witch save or change target.

Happy xmas anons! Any other Advent releases needed? I'm sure I could find some in a sack around here.
>>
>>50786516
No, further simplified. Turns out it was too spammy on warp charges. I think the new costs rebalance things a bit better.

>>50786636
I meant blessing on the psyker/the unit he joins.

Cults are their BRB discipline equivalents. Just like the salamander rite of war, except of just pyromancy you get one power per cult.

A big issue was making some disciplines more attractive (eg pyro) without changing everything, giving the TS new tables, or making redundant effects.
>>
>>50786746
Didn't the cults used to be a D3 on each table or something?
>>
>>50786794
Yeah, the previous iteration was:

Legion Disciplines:
- Pavoni
P: Smite
1: Enfeeble
2: Life Leech
3: Endurance

- Corvidae
P: Prescience
1: Forewarning
2: Perfect Timing
3: Precognition

- Pyrae
P: Spontaneous Combustion
1: Fire Shield
2: Inferno
3: Molten Beam

- Raptora
P: Telekine Dome
1: Assail
2: Levitation
3: psychic Maelstrom

- Athanaean
P: Psychic Shriek
1: Dominate
2: Terrify
3: Mental Fortitude

Which removes some powers like invisibility, makes disciplines more focused, and ensures the primaris are better/less ML1/2 psykers with duds.

But it also feels weird to not let one legion access the full disciplines.
>>
>>50786883
Maybe let HQs draw from the full list, and Sergeants draw from the reduced table?
>>
>>50786901
Generating (and using) psy powers is already such a slog, I'd be wary of adding yet more stuff. That's why I like the "salamander RoW"-like approach of offering some thematic powers that each cult can swap to, e.g. Ahriman guiding his unit to make impossible snap shots at enemies, Kalophis empowering guns with flames, Phosis stopping the wolves from charging via a wall of force, etc.

I've done similar but I was scummy, and I printed out some 40k art, chopped it size pain-stakingly. Then sealed it with PVA, then used matte medium (to get rid of the shine from the PVA)

But that was large flat surfaces on a Blood Angels tank. You probably couldn't do that on curved surfaces with whole images, you'd have to cut it up and jigsaw it back together.

Honestly, you'd probably be fine leaving it at torso+backpack+legs, right arm+gun, left arm individual, head individual. That'll give you uninterrupted reach on the entire model while still giving you something to hold on to (or large enough to securely mount). You can also wait til the torso is done to glue the head, then paint that.

Also, dry fit pieces before gluing so you can figure out how you want your doods to look. You can do this fairly easy as long as the right arm+gun are together, and then you can pick how to set each torso. Then just keep that arm with that torso+leg so they match up on completion.

[I just finished doing this for 20 Calth marines, decided to take a break on cleaning+building to paint the chaplain+terminators[/spoiler]

Do you know what Xana-Tisiphone means? Tisiphone was the Fury who punished murder, but I've always believed his crime was non-euclidean daemonic programming.
He is wielding the Vhodian sceptre, which is the personal sceptre of the ruler of whole Xana II. It is obviously stolen.
My guess is he was relatively normal when he got imprisoned, merely a deviant Dominus.
After he got out and rebuilt himself with the stolen relics Xana had to offer, however...

>alpharius may be possessing his marines following his death
>this could be a thing primarchs can do
Wait just a gosh-darned minute...

Because the Manus does it all the time.
Let it go anon, Alpharius is gone, he's been Dorn'd.
>>

Yeah cut off the head of a Hydra and it just dies and doesn't have its legacy absolutely retconned by shit tier BL writers who can't think of any meaningful antagonists and thus turn Alpharius into Harbinger
>>
>>50792819

You would think having the literal body of Alpharius in possession of the Imperial fists would be something noteworthy enough to remember 10,000 years later
>>
>>50792906
>the fists scrimshaw the names of their chapter masters on dorn's hand
>they just scrimshaw their shopping lists on alpharius, using it as an oversized post-it note
>>
>>50792906
Nah they stuck him in one of the freezers on the Phalanx and forgot they had him.
After 10,000 years it's just one of many amorphous lumps of ice in the many freezers on board, long forgotten.
>>
>>50792958

Remember that time the phalanx was empty because there was literally 1 imperial fist left.

Good times.
>>
>>50792906
they were made to forgot, because Dorn was the one that died and Dorn now is Alpharius actually
>>

Manus kept getting cloned and is presumably still being cloned by Fulgrim keeping him a bit preoccupied with 10,000 years of torture
>>
I can't wait for the rumor of a returning loyalist primarch going traitor to be Dorn.

I hate what they did to BAs in the 5th edition...

Clones are different, if the weren't then Fabius' Horus wouldn't have ever lived since the Emperor destroyed him.
