I like my nids (they're my first, which means I love them the most). I would go with the Carnifex, because who doesn't like some big beastly creature stomping and tearing things apart.

They're not as grand as a carnifex or as cool as Kranon, but something about phoenix terminator just make me diamonds.

Rather simple design when you get down to it, but they still manage to look powerfull, elegant and emitting martial prowess.

I could go on for ages about them, but i'll leave it as 'they're very pretty and well designed'

In my opinion this is one of the most perfect models GW has ever produced. Its balance of detail, size, and sense of motion just makes it a splendor to look at.

It was the model that made me pull the trigger on Khorne overall 13 years ago and I'm still fighting the long war because of it.

For my army (Tau), the Ghostkeel. It's a very nice model that looks cool and be assembled in a lot of poses. The design has a lot of callbacks to the smaller stealth suit without looking like just the same model scaled up. It's also the size that I feel "the big battlesuit" should be (Riptides and Forgeworld's ridonculously huge ubersuit just seem too big).

Also, pretty much all of Dark Eldar and Admech lines. Both have really nice aestethics that fit the theme of the faction and look awesome on the tabletop when painted well.

The fluff is they are the first step on the Space Chinese Emperor's dream at full armored army regiment: cheap, compact, easy to use power armor that can be produce en masse. They are basically vet imperial guards in fully functional cheap (if a bit more brittle) power armor.

I love the Lord Chompy Bits miniature from Malifaux. I painted mine up a rotten flesh colour; it was the first time I set myself a painting challenge (no washes).

Not him but the curvature of magazines is due to case taper. Bullets are generally narrower at the front than they are at the back to improve extraction. In some cases the is no taper, allowing for straight magazines like your pic.
In order to have a backwards curving magazine, the bullets would either need to be narrower at the back, which simply wouldn't work as far as chambering and extraction are concerned, or the feeding mechanism would have to rotate the bullet 180 degrees which is just exceedingly impractical for no tangible gain.

Has there been a new Mephiston? Aside from the librarian model in the Space Hulk boardgame, who is fulff-wise supposed to be the same guy before he became Mephiston.
I though they were stiff using the same old model.
It's a good model for sure, especially for its age, but like a lot of older marine models suffers from being much smaller than the current ones (Abaddon also has the same problem, being a head shorter than basic chaos terminators).

Not my absolute favorite, but out of all the Newcron models I loved this one the most.

I agree, also like Palatine Blades. They manage to look regal and elegant without just throwing on tons of ropes, chains, and other bits that clutter up the armour. When you get down to it the only real extra bits they have are their chest and shoulder ornaments and some armour trim.

I always loved Genestealers, both lore-wise and design-wise.

I just adore the fact this one, 14 point troop choice (Elite for GSC) is such a big threat to the Imperium and a major reason for its downfall. Genestealer Cults are such a cool, unique thing to 40k, while also having strong Lovecraftian undertones. Hell, I think they're even better than the Deep One Cults of Lovecraft, simply because they have a tragic end where they are ironically devoured by the gods they worshiped.

When it comes to appearance, I've usually preferred the older Genestealer designs. Their back chitin has more interesting things going on, and I like the fact their rending claws are more prominent and obviously different from their regular hands. However, I'm starting to warm up to the Purestrain design from Deathwatch: Overkill, and I hope GW makes a box of Stealers with that look.

It's way less picturesque and heroic. The newest one fits the role of the EC more. The old sculpt fits perfectly for a newly promoted EC or a video game hero who is picking up the legendary sword. It's the kind of pose that makes a nice diorama, but the one with the sword raised is the one I want standing at the front of my army.
