I have a gaming session in 3 hours and 0 ideas
Help me /tg/entlemen
Party is level 2 in D&D 3.5 (don't ask)
Pally, druid, rogue, monk and wizard
Their current objective is to find some magic items. They have no clue of what these items are nor where to find them, so they're going to visit a Good high level wizard NPC they've heard of.
Here's what I got for now:
They get to the wizard's area, rumors are his tower always moves (instant fortress), find a old lady in the forest, who is actually the wizard disguised that wants to test them and see if they're worth helping
What do I do
>>50727412
Have them stumble through a portal to 1980s New York City.
>>50727421
Thing is:
It's a new group, they're all good fellas and we're really enjoying ouselves, I don't want to just throw some random filler bullshit as their third session ever
>>50727412
Gonna keep posting random art
>>50727439
The magic item was stolen by some other character who stumbled into the NYC portal before they got there.
They have to find it and get it back to their world before THE TIME OF PROPHESY ARRIVES, possibly with the aid of a spunky but tough female cab driver.
The wizard is senile

Sounds cool, can't build and entire session around it sadly (for the same reason >>50727439)
Old lady they pass on the road is struggling under the weight of a hand cart full of basically rubbish. Barely mention her, but if they don't take it up maybe later a kid can be seen crying over a broken toy. Simple humble characters, if they pick any lead you'll be lucky but then the wizard can judge them as you wish and be all "IT WAS ME EVERY TIME"
> Wizards have a lot of time on their hands.
>>50727412
They have to:
1. Help her across a raging river.
2. Help her harvest giant vegetables in her backyard.
3. Fend off an attack by a group of righteous paladins who want to jail her for witchcraft.
If they succeed at all three, they get one each of Quaal's Feather Tokens, customized to the tasks they completed.
OP here: need to put some combat somewhere.
Last session had none and we haven't played for about 3 weeks so I think they'll want to kick some butts.
(So far they've only faced 20ish goblins and 2 bugbears)

Considering this, except for the paladin stuff

Forgot pic

>in D&D 3.5 (don't ask)
Why?

Just wanted to make sure it didn't degenerate to an Edition Rambling thread
