Buddy of mine is gonna be running a Mutants and Masterminds game. What's the best way to deal with a Big Guy-type with invulnerability powers and high strength?

Give them problems they can't just punch their way out of.
When they fight, Have them fight things that hit them in the other saves than toughness, such as Will.
And remember, villains might not be stupid. If they realise that the big guy is basically invulnerable to them, they might just turn their attention to less-invulnerable heroes, or innocent bystanders.

Teleport/throw him into space/another dimension.

Okay first off: let him tank and punch shit to his heart's content. He took those powers because he wants to use them.
Advice him to take Interpose advantage and some tricks from Power Profiles book on his super strength for more variety.
Then you can drop some guys that use intangibility and afflictions (malicious ghosts and shiet) to challenge him.
Then some godzilla for him to have a good old punchwrassling time again.

Oh yeah also some badguy with forcefield that'll only break if hit with sufficient damage in one strike - something that would require him on full power attack bonus. Everybody else supporting his charge to the shield through mobs trying to prevent it.

Swarm form (insects)
2D form - becomes flat, can adhere/move along walls/slip through cracks
telekinesis - limitation: specific types of substances? water/earth/airbending/Magneto/etc
paragon - captain america/jack of all trades hyper human
gravity manipulation
earth manipulation
super luck/super bad luck

Although desu MOST systems feature levels of abstraction to erase difference between pump, lever and bolt action methods.
If you're making your own, then it is a question of how much of a /k/ommando you want to be - and this is a ton of research to do if you want to take it far.
