The inhabitants never realized any of this but will just have a feeling that there a shift in the world. They would have been in a state like those deep Buddha zen stuff.

Calibration is what they call it in Exalted. For five days the sun is absent, and everyone parties.

The world shuts down and starts back up in shifts, with different mechanisms and spirits on and off at different times and in different places.

So, one night the stars are all wrong, some constellations missing and strange new ones in their place. On another night the Moon wanders around aimlessly for a few hours before chasing its own tail over the horizon. Somewhere in the east a river runs uphill and it may or may not return to its normal course.

During this annual event it's customary to throw a huge party, and make sure that every sorcerer is seen publicly. The party keeps people together and drunk enough to put up with the cosmic shenanigans, and keeping the sorcerers in the open prevents them from skulking off to summon the most powerful of the demons.

The gods of my setting don't work that way, even if a sun god were to die it would just mean there isn't a sun god, at least until another one takes over. Although the god of love has quite often interfered cause people to fall for each other it wouldn't stop happening on its own without him. But if they were pushed to it they could stop giving patronage to the mortal nations they have chosen. For just a few hours this would likely go unnoticed, but the last time it happened for a few years and was a major issue that caused a country that stood as a beacon of the virtues of civilization to become the biggest antagonistic force in the world and the third most feared and hated group of people.

Having been finally forced to work alongside each other, the Spider Goddesses and Lolth have ceased their bitter eminity towards each other and now just pretend each other don't exist on the most part.

As a result, the delicate political balance in the world of Spiders has found a new equalibrium and there is no longer a risk of a Spider Civil War.

This will have some pretty far reaching effects as Lolth now finds her adopted eight-legged friends far more willing to follow her, though they are far more unlikely to commit crimes against life outside of needing to feed or in self defence.

Best way to deal with the matter. A reality ending threat might make even the rocks insane, so fighting it with time stopped is the best course of action.

This could really work on a "the gods went missing" game where players discovers the battle, that the threat was only delayed but became mortal. And the players are the gods made mortal, with amnesia and trying to regain their powers to defeat the threat again, but now for real.
Bonus points if they need to find other gods-made-mortals NPC for help

In the setting, there was a war in the heavens that brought down most the gods. Hundreds died and now only twelve remain.
Goddess of Death, then distraught about losing her bothers and sisters, abandons her post and locks the gates to the afterlife before vanishing.
The remaining eleven, faced with the sudden realisation what this means set the wheel of reincarnation turning before standing back and letting everything handle itself on the most part.

Their absence will not even be noticed.

Whilst away though, they'll find out their Mother and their youngest sister are actually still alive.

Bring them back to the world their Mother made for them.

Mother finds her wayward Daughter Death in no time and convinces her to return.
Gates get reopened.
For the first time since history was recorded by mortals, the Afterlife is open.

Souls of the fallen gods are brought forth and rebirthed as the final ones to use the wheel of reincarnation.

New golden age begins.

Actually, one of the gods in my setting did the opposite: His 'true body' fell into a deep sleep to entrap part of a goddess of chaos in his 'dream'- he only maintains a quasi-mortal form to save power and keep the sun functioning so the word doesn't collapse.
If he's ever awoken, the goddess will break free in earnest, and the last time that happened the planes were turned into a hellscape.

Oh hey, that actually happened.

The players picked a fight with the God of Death over some grey morality bullshit he was doing with the dormant souls of the dead. When he landed at the chosen battleground, everything within a mile turned into a wasteland, but the party survived because they were pretty much demigod badasses at this point. Then they fought, and they actually sent the God of Death reeling, completely slapped his shit for a while.

Then he opened his eyes and remotely reclaimed all his power. Death stopped occuring. People would get stabbed in the heart and completely exsanguinate and would still be standing, in immense pain, wondering what was happening. Some guy would fall off a ladder and smash his head into bits. He wouldn't be able to think anymore, but his body would still be functioning perfectly well. That sort of thing.

So, the God of Death, having gathered up his power once more, started up Round 2. The party got their world rocked in spectacular fashion, but managed to leverage the Reaper to stop doing that grey morality bullshit or at least alter his methods, because he really doesn't want to have to turn off death again and that's enough for him to give the party some leeway.
