Hey guys. So I'm trying to make a Necromancer character for an upcoming campaign. I have played pathfinder a couple of times before now, but am not intimately familiar with it. I've done some research and found a few resources for necromancer characters, but nothing particularly detailed. I'm definitely wanting my character to focus on summons and minions, and less spell casting. I'm pretty set on an orc or half-orc because I just really like the idea of orcish magic users. If possible I'd like to be a melee fighter able to summon the dead and commune with spirits and dark forces, rather than a pure spellcaster. My GM is fine with pretty much anything so long as its more or less balanced, so theres not a whole lot of limits I need to adhere to. Any tips or resources for me?

See but here's the thing, is that damage is WAY easier to taper-off.
Most damage-dealing is done to single targets, which while it CAN eliminate bosses in one hit, you then have all the mooks to deal with.
Those that target multiple things, such as a fireball, are more easily-avoided since they almost always include saves to halve or evade them.
Finally, there are not only PoW counters to stop such attacks, but with the advent of Weapon Master's Handbook, even regular 1st-party martials can simply make an attack check and outright-negate many dangerous blasting effects; Cut From The Air, Smash From The Air, Deflect/Catch Arrows with the use of Stamina, Spellcut, all of these things are options that a martial (who, remember, will have plenty of feats to do this) can be built for to stop a blaster. And if you're not fighting martials, you're fighting spellcasters, who have their own ways to avoid high damage.

It's not. That's the thing. It's not an advantage at all.

It is a deliberate WEAKENING. You'll note this is almost only found in the tech guide too... The other exception being Kineticist.....

Half and Half is basically the opposite of "deals X and Y". With a multityped damage, you use the better of them. If something deals Fire AND Electricity AND Untyped AND Gravitic AND Negative, then the WORST one for the target is what applies.

If your effect/damage/etc deals 100 and is of the above: If the target would be healed by gravity, but takes 50% more damage from electrical? It takes 150. If it's immune to fire, electricity, gravity, and has 30 resist to negative energy damage, then it took normal damage. Is its regeneration offlined by fire damage? Then it's offline, even though it's wearing a ring to be immune to the stuff! YES!

Meanwhile, the split basically means "everything gets to apply against it". Hell if you went three-way: "deals 1/3 Fire, 1/3 Electricity and 1/3 Slashing", then not only would you often lose a point from rounding (booo) but DR would apply to the slashing part as well.

Millie proved an able student and became Shalala's apprentice. As she grew older, she started making money on the pelts and skins of the creatures she hunted down. She mostly spent this on more food, until a cadre of foreign wrestlers passed through. Enamored by their demonstrations and techniques, she approached them and offered to pay them for tutalage

Over the following year, Millie proved to be an adept student and quickly absorbed the techniques they presented, swiftly becoming a "Sumotai" as they called it.

Millie is a jolly soul, though very self centered. Weather self enjoyment, self improvement; her own interests at the forefront of her mind. However, one of the things she enjoys most is good company, and that is something she's willing to fight for... or at least skip brunch for.

You're spending more resources and encountering more stumbling blocks than someone who just decided to play a fighter or an initiator.

I actually like Eobard's backstory.

He is a Nexxian experiment from the Flesh Forges as a weapon against Geb. It ended with him eventually breaking his bonds, killing a good number of mages, and fleeing to Osirion. Over years of being a slave soldier his hatred had matured into cold malice. He is now the leader of a terrorist organization that's purpose is the destabilization and destruction of both Geb and Nex. Personally he plans on becoming powerful enough to kill both Geb and Nex, and searches the world for clues to where Nex is.
