So I installed a mod for Soulstorm that adds Admech Explorators, and this is one of the units.
Admech is my favorite faction in 40k, and even I haven't seen this.

I assume it's some form of dreadnought, but the poor fuck entombed in it isn't exactly willing. "What have you done to us!?" "This is worse than death!" I've not seen these before, they're called Visitors.

Did the modders just make this up, or is it an actual unit?
I tried googling this shit myself, but kept coming up with nothing on it, so I assume it's just made up.

That art is probably newer than the mod. There wasn't exactly a grand template to work from for AdMech before 7th.

I actually like it when modders add lore unfriendly units if they are cool and original.

I greatly appreciate how dedicated to the fluff the DoW modding community is but at the same time I feel the strongest parts of modding in general is to let folks just come up with brand new models and concepts just like the tons of conversions and custom models the tabletop made over the years.
