Dunno. Their numbers aren't regulated like space marines, at least I have never read any fluff that would suggest it. I would hazard a guess that inquisitors numbers in the tens or hundreds of millions spread over the one million planets (3ed ed rulebook fluff) the imperium has. Sounds like they would be stretched thin though.

This is obviously not a complete list. Its missing things like Ordo Hereticus, Xenos, and Malleus, and given the size of those Ordo's, there are probably many more Inquisitors than I have listed here. Im just trying to answer what little I can and provide a source for it.

lots. there is no number, just like there is no number of space marine successor chapters, there are enough to fit in the story you are reading, or game you are playing. thats how 40k universe works, it is such a huge varied place there is always room for whatever idea, even if it contradicts something half the galaxy away.

I seem to remember that in Dark Heresy 2nd edition, that it was mentioned that the Askellon sector only had a few inquisitors, because most had given up on it. They also said that this was unsusually few for a sector.

For the life of me though I can't find it now.

considering the population of the Imperium is in the high Trillions, if not the low Quadrillions, I'd say there are probably a million or more inquisitors per segmentum.

as for Rogue Traders, considerably less. probably not even 10% that of the Inquisitors.
