So I want to change up my boring Mono G old elfball Ezuri deck and I was thinking about Mina and Denn, Wildborn.
They seem pretty fun and I already have an Oracle and Exploration.
No one plays gruul in my mostly casual/budget playgroup and I am not too scared of MLD

What Landfall creatures are worth includng?
Is the wincon just going to be bit beats by gruul?

I can't really see this being that good unless you have infinite mana and need to recur things or you have a few (3-5) cards in your graveyard that you want to get back. Spending any more mana just means a very big loss of tempo, which is important in competitive games

With a bunch of mana dorks and some good grave loaders early game it has actually helped him out pretty well.
Probably cheaper and more efficient recursion but it is fun and political.

the reason 2 color can work fine on a budget is all the cheap come-in-UNtapped lands you can play, like the pain-land in your color, the checkland (some color combos have an expensive checkland, like UR, unfortunately), the BFZ land and SOI land (ally colors only), the signet land (also ally color only) and then lots and lots of basics

So I took my tymaret " low cmc prairie fire" deck, tore out all the "pricey" board wipes and recurrable creatures, (everything but removal, lands, rocks) and replaced them with goblins, and the commander with wort bogart auntie.

I'm legit having 10x the fun I was having before. I love theory crafting my own strategies and decks, but holy fuck a silly brainless tribal deck is fun and fresh after a while. Being able to recur value gobbos if not exiled is fucking amazing, the whole deck is flavorful and fun, and generally just a good time. It's not hyper competitive,but she gets out of hand pretty fast if not dealt with accordingly. I can't recommend her enough.

How would you rate the power level of this deck? I have one playgroup that says it's too strong, and another that's fine with it.
My basic plan is stall with defenders, control the board with wipes and counters, then High Tide+EtI into Lab Maniac win. I sometimes use steal/copy effects, since stealing a big hitter has won me several games.

I dream of making Kynaios and Tiro aggressive for 1v1 play. I feel RW benefit from ramp and card draw most, they never get it. I want to focus on RW tokens, with any good GU cards as cherry. Attrition, quantity vs quality. Most lands most cards most creatures. Board wipes for tactical restarts. Some sneaky blue unblockable shit, hell even craterhoof. I'll figure it out some day.

Not really powerful. Defenders are pretty useless most of the time, depending on what you want to do. Only defenders I can think of worth including are Wall of Blossoms/Omens and Wall of Denial. Maybe that one that returns a instant/sorcery to hand from grave on ETB.
I dunno, this deck seems perfect for casual meta powerlevelwise, but maybe your group just dislikes the many tutors and counterspells you have.
The tutors are a big thing, since it brings consistency, which other players in your whinygroup doesn't seem to have, or at least I get that kind of image.
Just replace the tutors and few counterspells for the whiny people to drop power level to a crawl.

You chain legendaries with reki, which due to the nature of several legendaries and the deck also lets you generate hundreds of mana. The result is eventually you draw your deck, play every creature in it, set up a loop with temur sabertooth, eldrazi, and hasty mana makers, and win by whatever. Akroma's memorial is amazing because it is both legendary and helps your key combo pieces resist removal.

Usually I win by turn 5 at the latest doing this.

We mostly play casual multiplayer games and I was only looking to spend ~$100 for the deck+sleeves+case.

My playgroup officially house-ruled Spawnsire as a viable option. After they realized how often the fatties player actually managed to pull it off (never) they decided to let him use any eldrazi he owns from outside the game for Spawnsire.

I had a Wort deck that I ended up making into a mostly mono red deck. It's essentially a Goblin Tribal/Purphoros deck, but the real win con of the deck is Valakut, using a conspired Boundless Realms to kill some fools.

Elftwins work well in some 99s, but they're kinda lackluster as a commander. Obviously it's ultimately up to you, and if they really speak to you as commanders go for it, more power to ya, but there are better and more interesting elfball and "lands matter" commanders.

For Elves, I'll echo what someone else said and recommend Nath. Imagine your current elf deck, with the versatility of black. My Nath deck has a discard secondary theme because it has synergy and it's not a mechanic you see used a lot, but you have as many options as black presents, with the strength and stability of elves backing you up. Stax, death and taxes, recursion, vampiric effects, whatever does it for you.

For "Lands Matter" decks, there are the two big ones, Angry Omnath and The Frog, and those are both great, but I never see anyone bring up Karametra, and she seems really fun. Lots of strong Landfall abilities in GW, and white's ability to bounce your own stuff works well with her ability.

yeah i just wanted to do the opposite. goad and exile first, beat second. i really wanted to beat my opponents with their own cards. but no matter how hard you try to build grenzo that way, he will always be an extremely poor man's edric. i don't know what the heck you can even do with a mono-red swarm deck after the first time you get hit by an errant board wipe. i know krenko typically just loses on the spot, so i'd imagine grenzo is about the same

I honestly don't know why people would choose to play new kozilek over the old one. The kozileks are probably the best choices because those decks tend to focus on dropping lots of artifacts from hand and theb using the commander to refill your hand, but old Kozilek is a much bigger threat. The new one's counter ability doesn't strike me as very strong. I can only imagine people use it because it draws more but the old Kozilek is a much bigger on board threat if you proceed to draw no gas and just ramp.
