pretty simple question but:

why the fuck isn't there a stat block for an attack dog in 5th edition?

I mean I guess the wolf stats are acceptable but idk it doesn't feel right
>>
>>50268961
If you stat a dog, that means players will be able to kill a Dog

Dog's should never be killable

Ergo, there are no stats for Dogs.

If you disagree, you want dogs to die.
>>
>>50268961
Mastiff, look it up.

If you don't want that, homebrew one. Just like there aren't any rabbits or tortoises.
>>
>>50268993

fuck dude

I don't want dogs to die

I want my PCs to have to deal with having to kill dogs that want to eat them

why you gotta go there with it
>>
>>50269018

well, I guess I'm the dumb one

appreciate you! :D
>>
>>50268961
That dog is cute
what kind of dog is it
Are they as cute in real life
>>
>>50268961
some autist must have made a nonmagical beastiary home brew by now ?
>>
>>50269164
Could be a Great Pyrenese. I probably spelled that wrong.
>>
I had this exact same problem/complaint while running Curse of Strahd. Couldn't find anything under dog, but eventually found Mastiff. Why they decided to be that specific, I have no idea.
>>
I remember I briefly played a Druid in 3.5e D&D with a wolf companion.

He got petrified in the second session. I went berserk and fucked up like 5 goblins 2 levels higher than me solo. Never again.
>>
>>50269164
that's a shoob
>>
>>50268961
Why would you want to kill dogs, you monster?!?

You're literally worse than TrumpHitler.
>>
>>50271269
In this case, you're actually right, as both of the persons you named love dogs, and Hitler was of the first modern world leaders to champion animal rights, which is one of the reasons he got his Nobel Peace prize.

>The more you know!
>>
>>50269784
Halflings traditional use mastiffs as mounts is why.
>>
>>50269164
Probably a Samoyed.

Source: My family owns one.

Are you autistic or what

>Hitler loves doggos
>Trump loves doggos
AHA! Finally the proof that he's literally Hitler!

>>
>>50271349
But why do halflings ride mastiffs specifically, rather than the generic term doggo?
>>
>>50268993
Dogs are unclean, filthy animals. Absolutely haram.

Because mastiffs stats are used for any large dog.

5e goes by specific can be used for general.

This is why I don't like kebabs: no good man could hate a dog.

Let me tell you how amazing dogs are.
>Dogs are the only animals to recognize human facial expressions. Even great apes can't do this despite closer genetic proximity
http://www.sciencemag.org/news/2016/01/dogs-can-read-human-emotions
>Dogs can literally feel love for their owners
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2016/03/12/its-finally-proven---scientists-test-whether-cats-or-dogs-love-u/

They're the perfect pets. Literally perfect.
