Thread 2# - Super Melta Tank
How would it work in table top?
>Reaver Melta Cannon:
72" S10 AP1, Primary Weapon 1, Apocalyptic Blast (10"), Melta
>>50218502
There are already magna melta flyers and tanks. A titan sized melta would probably just be a Shadowsword turret swap.
>>50218502
Baneblade variants that have a fixed titan weapon as a main gun tend to use the Warhound versions. Shadowsword's Volcano cannon is notably weaker than the one on the Reaver. If i wanted to make a melta superheavy, i would probably use the Reaver's Melta profile with shorter range and blast radius. 64" range and 7' blast look about right.

Also, if you don glue the melta cannon's casing on, it should be large enought to be mounted on a Shadowsord.
>>50218526
Now I want to see a Marauder with a whacking great meltagun mounted on it. Swoop out the skies, rape a titan, climb away.
>>50219588
or it carries several meltabombs, each one big enough to melt a city block, for a truly spectacular bombing run
>>50219629
If i remember correctly, there actually was an Aeron autica Imperialis-only Marauder, which indeed carried a single gigantic meltabomb.

*Aeronautica

I don't think that's intended as a protective casing, I think it's supposed to be an additional radiator to take excess heat away from the barrel and mechanism while the weapon is firing.
If you mounted on to a tank without it, you'd probably cook the crew just going through pre-fire checks.
>>50219588
You can't just rape a titan. Except those Eldar titans, they're fucking begging for it.
>>50218502
Has anyone got a Reaver titan melta and shadowsword for scale? just take a photo with it sitting on top of the tank or something.
>>50219783
it looks like a super glue cap, or lego seperator

According to the assembly instructions, this thing is called "Thermal Cowl". I am still not sure about it's actual function, but it's probably what >>50219783 said.
>>50219446
I admit. I like it better with the thermal cowl on it.
>>50219934
It's probably a cooling system to prevent the barrels melting.
Looks better without IMO.
