Newtype is basically a psyker with extra physical prowness, the UNDERSTANDING part is just fuckery started by Lalah, carried Amuro and pushed by Barnagher and his naivety about world+shitty writing.

The whole key about Gundam is war isn't something you can completely wipe from humanity whatever height they would achieve, because it always been part of themselves. Wherever humanity goes, there's always be war, and only the dead can understand peace.
