Either not!Egyptians or not!ImperialRussians.
There would be a schism in the Imperium of Man, and this faction would be a direct result of it.
The schism would be whether to consider Emperor a God among Men, or an avatar of Mankind.

That is a vile, contemptible, and perverse corruption of the already jumbled, inconsistent, and fucked up lore of 40k and a betrayal to it's abused fans for the sake of appealing to bottom feeders with loose pockets.

And it would actually work

You should apply to Games Workshop, you'd fit right in.

Squats and Giantesses - a secret abhuman civilisation that's been chilling in what was a single extra large space hulk whose members are made up of female giantesses and male squats who boarded the so called "mother hulk" back during the early part of the dark age of technology when their ancestors were still entirely human and loyal to the imperium, so their units are a mix of big, powerarmored ladies and squats with weird dark age of technology artillery and other heavy weapons.

Introduced into the current 41st millenium when the "mother hulk" breaks up and its various parts pop back into the matterium, so millions of imperial and otherwise planets basically having death stars appearing in their skies and hordes and chaos tainted and warped giantesses and squats flood out and conquer them so they can get supplies and begin travelling around the galaxy linking up the hulkfolk who ended up vaguely near enough to each other to form instant pocket faux-empires bent on plunder and expansion, especially against the "false 'irium" they see, basically not being fully chaos in outlook, but a warped version of the imperium itself molded after its batshit elements and ideals have been passed and corrupted through generation after 1000 generations of isolation and reinterpretation.

Throw in the ork looting rules as well for vehicles.
>>
>>50190579

No, hear me out, we can make them have like their own evil bad guy gangs, like West Side Story. Then, when everyone gets real upset about all the bad guys, we can just remove those and have all the bad marines be from just the one same gang. I'm sure the bad guy players will also appreciate the sense of unity this will create.

Order/Emperor Demons? Given that order as a force of the universe has been mentioned in the warhammer settings, I think I'd be a pretty interesting idea, if one requiring an expansion of the lore. I'm not talking about Hallmark card style angels either, but horrifying and strange ones that draw inspiration from scripture and abstract art. Burning concentric wheels and multiple heads/sets of eyes and suchlike. Maybe slip a little Evangelion into the designs. Point is, as per the setting, you shouldn't be too sure these creatures are better than their counterparts.

It's just a thought that's been stuck in the back of my mind. Maybe their origins should be kept mysterious?

Similar base concept, but with a different aesthetics (more fitting for the religious themes of the Imperium), and crunch not entirely dissimilar to the Demons army in their strengths.

Still room for grimdark, on the account of angels pulling some exterminatus tier acts if provoked/commanded. Something awe-inspiring and horrible in it's sheer, overwhelming righteousness. Like atom bombs of light and order, violently cleansing darkness regardless of where it lies or who ends up as nothing more than a person-shaped smudge on the concrete

Self replicating robots built by the Orks.
The first few were powered by the psychic gestalt as everyone thought they were just Orks that had everything replaced with metal over time... and possibly that's exactly what they were.
But the first few began building more, these capable of independant action and able to replicate further.
They eat metal, have primitive intelligence, and fall apart a few days after being built.

They can eat your tanks to build more bots, but at the start of each turn a few of them might randomly fall apart.
Some leave grease trails that make them hard to pursue, others are capable of laying dormant for years at a time looking like a pile of scrap until they reactivate to attack.
Their vehicles are just larger ramshackle robots, that barely look like they'll hold together (they won't) but are able to consume enemies to make repairs.
They would have weird infantry, tough to kill walkers (unless they broke down on their own accord), and crazy artilery... like one that acts as a psuedotransport that uses a deepstrike like rule to launch dudes around.

Their aestetic would resemble... there was a terrible cartoon called robotomy. After the Orks set them loose, they sort of did their own thing.
They would not be battle brothers with Orks though, as they recognise that the Orks love smashing them (they just keep coming back), which makes the Orks a primary threat.

Half asleep ramblings bring dumb idea for greasy robot faction.

Make a microfaction that can be taken as allies, needs only a few new kits, and is powerful

like Deathwatch and GSC, both of which sold really well, especially GSC.

Alternatively, expend Militarum Tempestus as Scions are one of the better selling kits due to how tacticool they are.

Or release a new formation that makes tactical squads more desirable. I've heard a third of all kit sales are tactical squads, so boosting tac squad sales would have a huge impact.

I know what I'd make, but it's the last thing either the company or the fans would want to do.

Make a human faction centered around survival in space, that isn't just a rehash of a fantasy concept. You can give them a scavenger and backyarder feel without making them too "orky". Story-wise they can come from all the planets the imperium lost or fucked up. Some people just refuse to die and stare down chaos sorcerors or punch hive tyrants with excavators.
Backyarder ships would try to stay under the radar and roam the galaxy in search of loot or resources. Some would follow imperium fleets like sharks under an aircraft carrier, waiting for all the resources and useful data that slips between the bigger fleet's fingers.
Visually they'd have a lot of off road wheels and industrial equipment and everything would be made from containers and standard parts. Also every kit would come with a set of magnets so you can switch parts and weapon systems however you want or attach the whole thing under a dropship.

Rather than making new factions, I would rather GW updated a bunch of old kits, and added a few new options in general.

As an example, Orks are still using Warbuggies from Gorkamorka-era. There are no real "dune-buggy" equivalents otherwise for standard 40k; yes, you can do the Forgeworld Tauros/Venator, but that's about it really.

Other than updating Warbuggies for Orks, you could do patrol buggies or so for Imperial Guard, or allow "war rig" variants (acting like Chariots) for stuff like Genestealer Cultists or Chaos Cultists.

That said, splitting Chaos Cultists into their own "Codex: Chaos Cults" would probably sell well, if it was done with the general attention to detail Genestealer Cults got. It could either be a conversion army, or it could also come alongside new plastic Chaos Mutants (customizable mutants!) or "Big Mutants" (The Ogryn/Bullgryn kits modified some), and maybe "light" Daemon Engines for those that want to do Stalk Tanks/Blood Pact.

well, given that it's prepubescent preteens just learning about the setting who actually pay MONEY, edge-tastic space-vampire-counts. Then to appease what few fans of the existing/old fluff are still around, I include some backstory about a lost colony of humans who were turned into oldcron pariahs by an intact Ctan Shard who still directs the actions of the few sapient one by implanting a fragment of themselves inside the host body (ergo space vampires for the space undead.) You include some bit about the space-vampires being able to send out a weaker but universal control signal to necrons, being able to control the truly mindless ones as long as their lords died in hypersleep, then just include 'Cron Warriors, 'Cron Immortals, Destroyers, and Scarabs in their book (but no other more modern Necron units.) Then include a super-formation that's on par with Craftworld, Necrons, GSC, and War Convoation

For the teeny-boppers, they are space-vampires wooooh

For the grognards, they are oldcrons woooooh

For the tourney-tards is's a new power-list woooooh

Final assessment: profit.

An orc faction that somehow came across a fragment of the Emperor. With a combination of the Waagh and a bit of the extracted wisdom of the Emperor.. Its still a jumbled mess for everyone involved. Even Space Marines will consider it the Waagh just being the Waagh, but a little bit more restricted.

The smart ones have understood what they have and exploit both the Waagh and the knowledge to create things that should not be.

Orcs can put together guns and vehicles that should not work but do with the Waagh. That's common. Now what about use the Waagh to make a captured plasma gun work because they somehow know how exactly to fix it but, worse of all, slap on a coat of paint and it better than all imperial technology out there?

Squigs become less of a joke after goblins understand the benefits of discipline beyond poking them with a stick. Exact maneuvers with this new calvary to wipe out things without having the squigs become mental.

Shaman magic doesn't just make things stronger or faster, it also grants intelligence and dex to dumb grunts.
