As it is you've got copper and silver with holes, then gold without. Then suddenly adamantine does, and then platinum doesn't again.
Assuming that is what the coins are and they go down in order of value.

I see so many things that can be done better. Have the chamber facing away, let the barrel swing over from facing away over the top and lock into position, extend and open so the hand fall's back into your hand and then locks into position, chambering the first round. No safety issues and it's a lot smoother. Still would be bulky if you don't use small ammunition.

It's actually electrum, not adamantine, which is worth less than gold but more than silver.
It's weird because it's from ancient cultures in-universe.

Most people don't deal with large value coins, and so they only ever need to pay with copper or silver. Putting it on a string (why there is a hole) helps you carry a larger amount of coin with you. Gold isn't nearly as common, and you aren't likely carrying very much at a given time (unless you're an adventurer), so no hole. The same goes with platinum. Electrum meant to be an extinct currency, but can easily be used, since its half the price of gold, so in a way its not valuable enough to not have a hole.

Giving a shit about "copying" isn't something that d&d games ever do, though. In d&d, all gold coins are considered equivalent, and all silver coins, etc.

In real life, coins were valued by weight and assumed purity, with its regional markers being shorthand for "these coins come from region X and they're not usually debased so let's assume they're pure silver" or whatever else.

D&D dwarves used to just know intuitively how deep they were. Someone who knows a lot about geology might be able to tell how deep a particular rock came from if they know the general area. Barometric pressure does vary with weather, but if you take a reading at the surface level and then compare it to a reading taken at the depth you want to determine, you should be able to be able to measure how far down you are with reasonable accuracy, assuming the temperature hasn't changed too much. The difference between the two readings in water or mercury (whatever your barometer is filled with) will have the same mass of a column of air with the same cross-section as your barometer and as tall as the difference in depth. Mercury barometers are much more portable because the fluid is denser and so the column doesn't have to be nearly as large, but water is something you'd probably prefer to be carrying on your person in a dungeon.

First of all you have to have a precise instrument, such as wouldn't be found in a fantasy setting...unless magic

So you have to keep monitoring constantly the the surface pressure..again magic, or you've invented a precisely accurate timepiece, like a watch from about the 18th century or later, and a recording device...and regularly calibrating this against the underground barometer which means in the later case you aren't going to know depth until you get above ground and compare records

Lack of comparison means that when the weather turns after you've been delving for several hours without setting up your barometer that your depth is going to be accurate to within about +/- 3 km.

But in an earthlike planet you're going to be dying from the heat at 3 km which is around 50 C so you can be pretty sure you're not there but you might have climbed up in a mountian without knowing it.

So you know, reliable, no.
