Have you ever implemented Americana creatures into your settings? I've thrown around a few Ograbmes and hide-behinds.
>>
never really thought of them as "creatures"
>>
>>50120281
What the fuck else would they be, anon?

Skinwalkers are pretty much the primary antagonist of a game I've been playing for a while. I fucking hate those things.
>>
>>50120251
I've idly wished I could play a sasquatch once or twice.

Do Lovecraft mythos monsters (shoggoths, great old ones, fishmen, etc) count as Americana creatures? Lovecraft was an American after all, with some of his most famous work taking place in the USA.

That aside, I'd be pretty hype to have the Jersey Devil, or a monster like it. Sasquatches, yetis, and thunderbirds are also welcome.

Native American monsters can be really fucking disturbing, even by the standards of the east. Wendigos man. Nothing like a zombie deer-man who'll eat you and wear your face.
>>

>zombie deer-man
If anyghing, a faithful wendigo looks even spookier; the whole wildlife/zombie connotation is purely a pop culture thing.
Wendigos were originally super tall, gaunt-yet-muscular raggedy naked people with bleeding eyes.

Neither had I, until now. The Standard Oil Octopus does make a compelling monster though. There are like a billion political cartoons featuring tentacled monsters.

>look at wikipedia
>Wendigos came from Algonquin lore

I had heard about Algonquins a long time ago, but I never knew they gave us the Wendigo. I guess you learn something new every day

Basically any organization or person here that's considered to be highly influential and malicious can be portrayed with tentacles reaching into areas of influence.

Not sure how prominent it is now, but it was definitely a thing in the 20th century.

>CoC
>not cyberpunk

It sounds like it would be a blast to have PCs battling a gigantic corporate-sponsored tentacle demon.

Most of the imagery doesn't quite lend itself to cyberpunk. But don't let that stop you.
