How do I deal with edgelords?
How do I make an edgy rogue reform and go clean?

If you are the GM, don't invite them to your group. Otherwise, just be mature and don't encourage them.

Whether you are GM or player: you pretty much can't. If the way they are playing is so problematic, the group needs to have an out-of-game discussion about campaign expectations that should have been had before the campaign began.
Often in games harming another is very "clean". Violence and stealing are easy and usually the easiest and most effective paths. Show them their actions in a realistic light. Describe the fear and suffering they sow coldly and have the world react the way it really would. Most people aren't truly sadistic and don't want to see how ugly their actions really are, it's just easy in games.
Now if you're dealing with an actual sadist it's a whole other situation.
people throw around the word edgy a little too easily these days, care to explain OP?

Tell him to change his behavior or fuck off It is remarkably simple and effective yet people keep asking for a kinder, softer alternative.

I don't have it, but basically a GM ran a silver age campaign, but the players all brought animu brooding antiheroes.
So every time they tried to do something edgy, it turned into something absolutely ridiculous and killed their mood.
