I like to think that the best way to show off your armor as feminine without using exposed skin/boob armor/high heels/jewelry/exposed hair is to do something with the waist.
Either take regular male armor and while scaling it down to size, make the waist a little smaller; or do something different on the outside like with the overcoat, tabard, etc.
I'd say you could also add a bit of a feminine pose as well, but if we're to take them seriously as fighters; as in, these women will drive a sword through the flesh of an enemy, it won't really work outside of a relaxed standing pose.
>>
>>50130780
Not to mention some women will sometimes just HAVE to have a slightly distended breastplate. I'm not talking full boobplate, but if you're a particularly busty warrior there's only so much you can mash your boobs.
>>
>>50131270
Fetishes aside, why would a trained warrior even have big boobs? It's not like a lot of fat is an advantage in battle
>>
>>50131567
Because she was born with them?
>>
>>50131596
That's not how boobs work
>>
>>50131647
Yeah, sorry. No woman goes out of her mothers womb with some tasty DD tits. They have to grow first.
>>
>>50131704
If she's from a line of bulky women she could naturally have a larger bust. Working out would reduce it, but she'd still be bustier than a more naturally slender woman.
>>
Even with big boobs, binding is a thing, it would be easy to include as part of the armoring up process, and it works.
>>
>>50131770
Yeah but most likely not to the point of requiring specially shaped armour
>>
Armor, and especially rigid plate armor, is often pretty bulbous in the torso anyway, since even the lightest armor isn't skintight and curved shapes can help deflect blows. If you really needed to accommodate some truly massive titties (we're talking bigger than her head, at least), the bulbousness just needs to shift upwards a tiny bit.
>>
>>50132217
Mmm. the only time a woman needs specially shaped armor for her chest is when she's sporting absolutely massive knockers - things that protrude even when bound down.

And, due to the way estrogen and progesterone work, the only way she'll have that kind of size is if she's genetically bent for it AND she's led a relatively sedentary life. It's a considerable part of why modern women are chestier than medieval ones.

What a time to be alive
>>
>>50132359
Weren't smaller chests preferred during the middle ages as well? I know these things go in and out of style.
>>
>>50120764

Wouldn't the enemy know she's likely someone with money and power and thus do everything in their power to take her alive so they can ransom her back?
>>
>>50132381
Well, the other reason is because of what we eat; there's a lot more estrogens and the like in our foods (particularly soy products), and being sedentary means they don't get processed through our bodies as fast, meaning they have longer to work their magic on the chest and hips.

Realistically, the vast majority of medieval women were sporting A and B cups, with only noblewomen, merchant's wives, and the like - the sort of women that would outright get fat - getting larger than that.

>>50132417
It was a preference thing, mostly down to individuals. most men tended to go for healthy women that looked like they could support a child, though, so curvy and/or pudgy were the most preferred ones.
>>
>>50132417
>Weren't smaller chests preferred during the middle ages as well?
I don't think at any point in history a man has preferred small tits, you only settle for them if she's a good person.
>>
>>50120662
The pollaxe scale is way off though.
>>
>>50132611
>>50132417
>>50132444

The reason you think that is artwork of women with small tits, but remember that back in the day women got married and knocked up way earlier than now.

Young women without excess weight who hasn't eaten meat with hormones in it all their lives don't exactly have heavy hangers.
>>
>>50132611
Large boobs have always been a sign of fertility, which most human men are attracted to on a subliminal level. Also in the middle ages having kids was more important and expected, so a woman with big mammaries could be taken to ensure the babies are well fed and don't have their immune systems crap out and die of the rickets.

Hell, sometimes big-breasted women found good jobs as nursemaids.
>>
>>50124837
>men bond with their mother more often than nor
What kind of faggot bonding did you have with your mother going dress shopping? I bonded with my father over hunting, lifting, and exercising as well as the military and engineering (father was a submariner who decided to study nuclear engineering, I studied mechanical engineering and decided to join the navy).
>>
>>50127719
my only question is why the female coat is shorter. from an artist's standpoint it makes it read easier, and sort of hints at a skirt and boots, but armor-wise wouldn't the coats be the same length?

it's pretty fantastic in general, though, yeah

>>50127970
it's the relative apparent proportions of shoulder/hips to waist. it's impossible to actually tell, I think, but if you nailed me down to a cross and demanded I judge I'd say it was a man, since the shoulders are wider than the hips, if you discount the floofiness of the furs and hides and things.

>>50132611
like all things fashion is a big part of it. what we'd call a beautiful face isn't necessarily going to be the same as what some other culture from another time or place would call beautiful.

>>50132983

>>
>>50133001
>my only question is why the female coat is shorter.
That is odd. I wonder if it was just to show an alternate version of the coat.
>>
>>50132611
Flappers, 1920s. A doll-like figure was preferred, and women would actually bind up their breasts to make them smaller. So that's at least one confirmed time.
>>
>>50132983
Personally, I bonded with my mother more than my father because she's more amenable to abstract intellectual discussions, while my father is not significantly better than her about things like engineering. He's a doctor, but he has always largely declined to discuss medicine or biology with me. She has a PhD in English, and has given me as much benefit as she could from her learning. He and I don't work together well and he tends to behave dismissively towards me. My sister gets along a lot better with him, but I'm not really sure why. Our mother would take us shopping every now and then and I found it really boring while my sister enjoyed it, but seems to hate our mother now. I know this is just a single anecdote and I have no idea what patterns may exist in humanity in general or any subset thereof, but I really hate your attitude, so I hope this helps you to realize your error.

>female coat is shorter
It's just a coat, it provides as much protection as the long one. It's interesting that you call it a female coat though, as it certainly does help show that. What with the narrower waist and the vague skirt shape it gives. So hey, maybe that's why she's wearing it.

>>50135707
Interesting design. At first the second one looks like the first one just with the holes covered up, but they're actually completely different armor sets. I love how mobile it looks.
What surprised me are the boots. Filling up the space underneath the heels makes them completely acceptable to me, even though they're equally high as before.

A woman in proper armor is an honorable warrior who will protect you because it's the right thing to do. A woman in skimpy armor is an aggressive barbarian who will come on strong and ravish you. Both are hot in their own way, though I personally lean toward the barbarian type.

It's actually lower, you'll notice the angle of the top of the foot is less extreme and the elements of the heel have been compacted. Plus the right figure is shorter than the left one, indicated the loss of heels.

My Sci-Fi game takes place on an earth colony where the human settles have been forced to wear environment protective armor for a century while trying to terraform it, and the armor is totally unisex, which has changed their society heavily. Of course this also means that the other sapient species on the planet thinks that humans look like their armors, and aren't aware there's squishy people inside.
>>
>>50127705
Same. Boob-plate is a terrible structural design (boob shelf is a good compromise), though it is true that there is value in armor being form fitting and flexible, but at least boob armor does provide some protection. I imagine it would be totally be reasonable for an honor guard unit; someone who needs to be able to fight if necessary, but who spends most of their time looking pretty.
>>
>>50129577
I used this one as inspiration for a shitty story where a young female knight (technically still a squire) ended up having to escort an even younger prince back home. Quit the story because I kept having to come up with reasons to justify the premise. Also, I really wanted the girl to be wearing full plate, but you really don't wear full plate all day every day while traveling.
>>
>>50132359
Well, if she's going to be armor all the time, she will need some room. Squishing boobs that much for sustained periods of time is not good for you. And depending on how tight you want to go, it can get pretty uncomfortable (which actually does matter a lot). But a traditional cuirass with the bowed out torso design should generally provide enough room.

It's a philosophical/logical thing, more commonly known as the Sein-Sollen problem in German. What it means is, very simplified, that you logically cannot distill moral commandments from natural facts. It pretty much opposes the "things are good because that's the way they are" thinking.

To apply it to your example: just because men ARE disposable doesn't mean they OUGHT to be disposable. ie. the biological fact of male disposability does not automatically mean indifference to male suffering is morally justified.

>>

>>
>>50163858
But he was aware of it.
>>
>>50163858
Natural reactions generally serve important purposes. That's why they're natural.
>>
>>50163858
Well, we can always wax philosophical about such things, but philosophy is often second to what's practical. And questioning the worth of a woman's life compared to your own is not very practical according to the primal parts of the brain.

In the end, "make more mans" wins out.
>>
>>50163920
>>50164090
If you go 100% on pure practicality, that also means that to sustain such a system and give men a reason to participate in it we need to go back to the most hardcore of old patriarchies, effectively making women the property of men for the sole purpose of pumping out as many new children as possible. Yet somehow that idea is more controversial than the idea that men might enjoy being empathized with.

I'm not saying your point isn't valid, I'm just saying you can't half-ass it.
>>
>>50164129
I think you're attaching too much extra onto the underlying point of the instinct.

Scenario 1: People care about women's suffering as little as they care about men's:

Women are marched into battle alongside men, women are confronted violently as much as men, women are expected to perform dangerous tasks as much as men.
The fact of the matter is that women are not as capable as men at the vast majority of those things. Usually by a long way. Therefore:
Women will be turned into mangled waifu guts en masse in battle. Women will be beaten to death in a couple of punches during a bar brawl. Women will fail to hold that rope firmly and the massive block being winched will turn her into splattered gloop.
Result. Massive decrease in female population, men have to fight over fewer women. Massive breakdown of cooperation between men, potentially leading to societal breakdown?

Scenario 2: People care as much about men's suffering as they care about women's:

No one marches into battle (arguably good).
No one is confronted violently on a whim (hard to argue against this being good).
Here's the bad one. Massive, massive reductions in the amount of people willing to perform risky jobs. Many of which are very important to life in general, as well as modern life.

Imagine every single death of oil drillers or builders last year was some girl in her twenties or thirties, rough & ready girls with grease on their cheeks and some are sure to be cute and maybe even beautiful.
Public outcry would be terrible. Every week there's the faces of some cute girls who've just been ripped apart by a wood chipper, or had their pretty faces crushed by a trundling bulldozer.

If people cared just as much about men as they do about women, they'd have the same reaction as the hypothetical I just presented to the deaths that happen in those industries right now. Those industries would be shut down or so intensely mired by safety demands that it would grind progress to a halt.
>>
>>50164379
I'm so glad this perfectly good armor thread has turned into this.
>>
>>50164129
I don't get why we would have to go to the mythological wife-as-literal-slave time - because it wouldn't be 100% practical. Even in "the most hardcore of old patriarchies", women had functions other than birthing children. Heck, wouldn't a society where women are only expected to give birth function only if women are deified and thus, ultimately, not a patriarchy?

And seriously, what you're advocating for is that people should feel what they don't feel. Can you be sad or happy on purpose? Can you empathize with every person you come across? Can I force you to feel for the animals on industrial farms as much as someone else does?

I seem to recall that the Romans had a fetish for small breated women because it reminded them of youth, specificlly they had a thing for young girls. And larger breasted women were considered unatractive because they were considered to be older and more mature.

I dunno, if the guy was a crying mess they might.

Really, if you treat each gender the same then people won't be as annoyed. You think people would be as annoyed if the Nord from the start of Skyrim who got executed was female and behaved exactly the same? Certainly not as much as the above posted pic, though of course some people would make an argument of it.

I tried to find a pic with a pathetic looking man about to be executed, but aside from real life images, I can't find any. They're all stoic, at worst they're forlorn in the face of imminent death.

Now I wonder why that would be.

You're annoyed that no one would care if the gender was reversed, I'm annoyed that the gender is 'never' reversed.

Right, I think that's all the fully-armoured ones I have.

I have a few others that aren't full plate but don't slip into boobplate, if anyone's still interested?
>>
>>50172379
I find this to be quality levels of boobplate. It says, "hey look, I have boobs" but doesn't fail as armor either.

Very well. Admittedly I feel as though this one is pretty weak as far as flame-bait goes, probably the third in terms of power that I have.

I don't know what kind of arguments come out of this. She looks like she kept fighting and killing even when she needed a stick to walk. Clearly more respectable than the other image.

Now if only there was a hi-res version of the Torchbearer GM screen where this image comes from on the internet so I can read the text around it and see what they were using it for.

Eh, well, the last time I posted that one people all started saying that it served her right, so I sorta shelved it until now.

Good to see that it was an isolated incident, I like that one.

It's 4chan, there'll always be that element of anti-everything psychopaths. Post things for the sake of the people who're going to appreciate them, not for the sake of those who'll hate it.

This.

Fiction almost never shows men crying and sobbing as they're about to be executed. When it does that shit is just as uncomfortable and disturbing, if not moreso, as it's a break from the norm.

>>50174732
Fortunately that man probably didn't feel anything, since he was obviously stoned as shit when he got decapitated.
