So one of the player chars is about to get married in a pretty big ceremony after some hellaciously violent recent weeks. What sort of light interstitial adventures do you lot rum when the PCs are just trying to do something relatively normal without the usual drama of secret cults, demons, and prophecies?

Pic related, he's marrying an elf.

Players run into a secret demon cult with a prophecy to ressurrect their master on the day of the wedding. Party must prevent it without the player getting married finding out anything is amiss.
Proceed to run a 1-day parody adventure.
>>
>>49966342
You could just do something light hearted around the ceremony.
>Someone missplaces the rings and the party must scramble to retrieve them before the bride finds out.
>Some of the guests turn out to be mortal enemies and must be kept away from each other at all cost or they may ruin the whole event.
>The groom loses the vows he had written down and must imrpovise them on the spot in the middle of the ceremony.
>>
>the dwarf and elf delegations won't stop arguing over literally everything
>>

Assuming the party takes hooks and at least pretends to be nice, throw out some SEP adventures.

An NPC they know or run into has trouble with a local gang, the players sort it out to keep the peace.

An alchemist needs a certain rare ingredient. It should only take a few days to gather but it won't be easy.

My favorite from the big-ass random encounter table: Thieves break in, don't steal anything, and refuse to leave.

>bride is kidnapped by a masked rogue
>everyone is confused and has never heard of this admirer
>turns out there were two weddings on the same day and this idiot kidnapped the wrong bride
>now he's too embarrassed to bring her back

That last one doesn't really work with murderhobos, and it's not that damn hard to get blood out of stone. Or just cover it with a throw rug.

>weird distant relatives show up
>no one knows who they are but they keep causing shit
>turns out its just some local con artists hoping to cause a ruckus and loot the joint when things get out of control.

>The local wizard has wizarded some inappropriate chimeric beasts all over the city, party has to catch them before they ruin the ceremony.
>The ceremony involves games and competition - archery, hunting, fisticuffs, stuff like that
>A few hours before the ceremony, someone has used a charm/oblivion/confusion/love spell or potion on the groom; party has to find a cure, and then investigate on who it was and why

Well, one time the DM did one of those 'a week passes, what do you do?' things for the party, so of course my true companion as the Bard, and myself as the rogue declared proudly that we were going on a drunken crime spree. Since everyone else did sensible things like crafting or working for the guard, he decided to roll a few times on a random treasure table to see if we got any swag, and then rolled a d4 to see how badly law enforcement wanted us. It turns out we had gotten quite a bit of swag, including a half-used ring of Prestidigitation, roughly 150 gp, and what was apparently Dwarven Firewater, which tasted like, and could probably serve as, a mix of engine grease and paint thinner. To this day I have no idea what Dwarven Firewater is or is meant to be used for, because I refuse to believe it is meant for consumption. The authorities also didn't give a shit about us, so whatever we had done in that blackout-drunk week, we'd apparently gotten away clean. The DM would use this scenario as the basis of an interim session whenever a member of our four-man group couldn't make it, with me and my boon companion playing ourselves and the third man playing some random schmuck that got dragged along into our dumbass shenanigans. Now that I think about it, that's a fairly apt analogy for for the game in general.

Umgi, when will they learn?

>bakery promises amazing cake for low price
>day of wedding
>cake is a lie

>Priest/Druid who the wife wants to be married by has gone into hermitage since they last met, players must figure out how to get him to do the wedding
>The wedding cake needs a special ingredient, players must retrieve it. People who guard aren't hostile, just assholes
>Rings get mixed up with the local wizard's rings, which he needs for a spectral battle, players have to get them returned in time
>Dragon or similar powerful creature arrives and declares, no, he's getting married today, players must find a way to remove him
>The party must escort the incredibly picky Father and Mother of the bride as they pick up their extended family through a very convoluted route
>God/Goddess of Love turns up and wants to bless the couple, but is also wants the party to prove they are worthy of attending the wedding
>Seating the guests. With intertwining feuds, love affairs and rivalries can make this an adventure all on it's own
>>
>the bride is actually an owlbear

why would I be jealous someone's marrying a plank?
>>

He finds his wife getting fucked by an orc, the orc smiles at him then french kisses his wife.

You then smile smugly at your friend snd give him a wink.

Take it from there.
