Mirrors flash and attract attention. Also a very perceptive opponent may be able to see you back.

Personally I'd mount it on my grappling hook to avoid those pricks who just wait next to it and club you over the head.
It's only gotta happen once before you take precautions.

A mirror would give you far inferior vision; it'd literally let you look around or into anything it would fit in, and it would be as good as if you were standing right there.

Rent it out to blind people. Highest bidder gets a contract to use it. Contract lasts as long as they make payments. As an evil adventurer, these may become extortionate. When someone can't pay, or won't pay, or I get a better offer, I repossess the eye and it's back to the auction block.
