Bride gives away her brideprice to her old family, as they need it. Husband takes offence, as it was supposed to be for her, and becomes heartbroken. The bride now attempts to track down the gifts in order to cheer her dearest up, which she finds her family already sold them.
From there the bride can be a questgiver or adventurer or whatever fits the quest you are going for.

Well ofcourse the basic transport and protect and what have you from getting them there to having them have struggles with the wedding themselves.

From a stagemaster with a pompousness that'd make even the toughest sub-urbian footballmother whince, all the way to the cheap hired labour from the nearbye goblin village getting ready and planning a revolt or strike on the night of festivities themselves.

Or you could have trouble with the bride and groom in an arranged marriage, but the king hasn't just given her hand to one fellow. There's about 6 loutish young princes out and about each promised her hand, and now the PCs are tasked with keeping them around and testing their mettle together with the princess to see what the lads are made of.

Here's another.
Two great warriors from seperate cities are in love. Their families want them married, but marriage plans grind to a halt, as each city cannot bear for their great warrior to move into the house of the other warrior. You know, on account of not leaving any one city too undefended.

Try to shore up the defenses of one or both the cities through whatever means you have in order to allow the lovebirds to finally marry and have the strongest babies.

Two kingdoms are finishing up an alliance by marrying off members of the royal family to one another. However, a larger nearby nation, fearing a united front against them, isn't having any of that, and delivers an ultimatum to both nations that they marry off other royal family members to the leaders of the large nation.
So now the two allied nations are trying to decide whether they can go to war or who to marry off to the large nation. Shenanigans ensure in finding members of the royal families to pair off with each other.

As it turns out, one of the PCs is actually in an arranged marriage with a beautiful maiden or what have you, that's good and all, but the wedding is taking place right in the BBEG's castle and he has no idea you're coming but knows your face.

The maiden in question's father was something of a schemer, he has recently been poised by one of the people he's screwed over at some point and it's come to light that he promised his daughter's hand to a dozen or so different spouses (note the gender and species neutral term), sort it out

The bride and groom turn out to actually get along really well, and there's the start of something genuine.
They sneak off for a night of passion, at the same time as a messenger arrives to each set of parents letting them know that this arrangement is actually an awful idea and it needs to be stopped right now.

Ooh, I actually like this one. Everything is going great until some political conflict with one (or both) of the families happens. Like, let's say someone closely affiliated with Family A
did something to someone in Family B (kill/attack/steal something/whatever), and because of strings of alliances on both Family A and B's part, you have the mob equivalent of World War 1 ready to break out between several noble houses.

-The lowest hanging fruit to this is one party in the marriage kidnapped by another party (potentially to get married off to party C against their will).

Other ideas:
-One or the other members of the marriage attempt to break it off on account of some kind of blackmail or ransom.

-Someone places a curse upon the union/the prospective children of this marriage, and the young couple asks the group of adventurers to help break it/get the curse giver to take it back.

-Something critical to the marriage, such as the rings, parts of the dowry, a specific priest, etc. goes missing, and it's up to the party to find it.

-A conspiracy to break the couple apart through false allegations of crimes/misdeeds. Bonus points if impersonators/shapeshifters are involved for the crime committing.

Final idea - become pic related when one or both members of the marriage start getting cold feet. Use your Preform checks, gents!

After centuries of bloody war between two kingdoms, the two kings arrange a marriage between their heirs: a prince and a princess. The princess is demure and charming but also erudite and surprisingly witty. The prince has been educated in statecraft from childhood and has proven himself to be a competent commander and brave soldier. The two have met a few times before and courted eachother, and while they're not exactly madly in love they can see themselves getting used to eachother. Their marriage is scheduled to take place within half a year, and if concluded it will decisively end the war and create peace and prosperity for both kingdom (which will in time merge into one).

However, an evil witch has fallen madly in love with the prince. While the prince doesn't know of her existence, she has been stalking him for years and has been driven to the verge of madness by the news that her beloved is about to get married. Heartbroken, she gathers all of her might to either ruin the princess' reputation or remove her from the equation altogether. Then, the heartbroken prince will be in need of a loving, beautiful and understanding woman who would never betray him.
