I'm happy that we're getting a new update. The plastic scupts will be pretty decent if the stealers' codex is any indication, and if we're lucky we will even get an Ecclesiarchy codex. Wonder what kind of new units there will be.

I'd really like to see them show up as Astartes Killers. Not so much in terms of actually being able to roflstomp marines, but as in that being part of their job description and something their geared for/not afraid of doing. I mean, they do specialize in Melta Weaponry, wear armor that doesn't get sliced through by bolters like tissue paper, and have magic powers to even the playing field...

There could be some interesting politics in that. Basically, some Chapters have really good relations with the Sisters, like the Black Templars who are just as fanatical, while more aloof/radical chapters have a much more tense relationship. The Space Wolves probably take issue with them setting civilians on fire so much, for example.

I'd also just generally like to see them get a bit more of a push as a bunch of really dangerous, fearless fanatics. They should be a pretty formidable force, after all: they've got the best gear and training that money can buy. I'd also explicitly state that there's a tonne of them, as they're basically present wherever the Ecclesiarchy is, which is everywhere.

I really love the aesthetics of the Sisters both in terms of models and art. They also seem to be really cool in the fiction.

I'd just give the Celestians, Dominions and independent characters the opition to take sororitas bikes equipped with a power lance (Hammer of Wrath: S+1 AP3). For something like +15pts.
So you have two cavalry squads, one that is slightly more elite and geared toward CC, while the other is all about special weapons.
If you want to differenciate them more, give twin pistols to celestians and melta bombs to dominions and you have two excellent cavalry squads.

Here's the prototype datasheet. The current plan is to make them an elite cadre of redeemed repentias who serve the role of heavy shock cavalry. I'm also hammering out a formation that consists of them and Mortias.

Unfortunately, I'm having difficulty finding decent art for them. For some reason, "female space knight on a bike" doesn't seem to be a popular subject for artists.

Hmm, since this is a fandex, I'd prefer options to existing units rather than new ones when possible. My opponents are much likely to accept the list if I say "it's a celestian unit with bikes and armor upgrades" than "it's a new unit. It got bikes and a 2+ save".

No, they don't, because you're fundamentally misunderstanding what the Genestealer's Kiss is. It isn't like Alien, it doesn't deposit a fetus into the recipient. It injects them with a genetic cancer that re-writes their biology, ensuring that any children they have will be hybrids, and that they will be fanatically loyal to their children.

Purestrains and the Patriarch are the only creature within a Genestealer Cult's life-cycle capable of administering the kiss. It's why Genestealers themselves are so important to a Cult, and why the 'fifth generation' that resets the cycle is so important - because at that point the new Genestealers can be smuggled into new cities or sent off-world to spread the cult infection further. It seems like to me that the Sisters fanbase is fairly large at times, with how many different people I see claiming they'd buy a bunch of the models if Sisters ever got a re-release, but that could also easily be either a vocal minority or a case of putting your money where your mouth is.

I lucked out in that someone in my area was selling a Sisters army of about 2000 points for about $250 and jumped right on it.

I like the novelty of having a full Sisters army and fluffing my own order to fall in to them being the personal army of my Inquisitor character from Dark Heresy, but I realized that, because they're so far behind in updates, they're unfortunately very boring to play. Very stand-and-shoot, and not much else aside from the Immolators.

Sisters need an update, if nothing else so that they have some extra flavor beyond half-Guard, half-Space Marine.

I do enjoy them in Heralds of Ruin Kill Team, though.

I've seen this pop up, and I think there's a difference between the Order of the Blue Robe, and that scheme.

The one in the pic of the Sister is obviously Order of the Blue Robe - you can tell by the symbol on the flag in the background. It was an order briefly featured in an Imperial Armor book as a scheme for an Exorcist.

I'm not saying it's a bad scheme - I'm just not sure if it's official, since it's the scheme of a painter's army and not the painting of an official 40k scheme, and the Tsundered Night is distinct from the Blue Robe.

Kristen Williams is/was a 'eavy metal painter.
Most stuff they do, and that of other studio stuff that gets published gets a shout out in official stuff at one point or another.
Sons of Orar were Keith what's his name's army before they became an official successor.
Hell, even the Crimson Fists were the personal army of one guy named Peter (Pedro) at one point.

Don't think it's much of a stretch to think that FW just took a scheme like that and made up some fluff to go along with it.

It's hard to tell, since there isn't an offical scheme for a Blue Robe sister, but from the name alone and what I can glean on the colorscheme of the Exorcist, they are two different Sister Orders - if Sundered Night even exists in 40k at all. Notice how the Sundered Night systers have white and dark-blue colors, and the Exorcist has tan or off-white and light blue colors?

I know that painters have their own personal armies, and sometimes those will get brought into the lore. you mentioned the Sons of Orar, but the big one that stands out for me is the Emperor's Shadows. But I've never seen the Tsundered Night in the lore, and I've barely even been able to find mention of them on google searches. As far as I can tell, they've never even been in a 'How to Paint' book. Not every 'eavy Metal painter's army is going to end up brought into the lore - I'm sure there are plenty of examples of that.

I don't think the Tsundered Night can be considered canon, and even if you do consider it canon, I have to argue that it must be different from the offically given Blue Robe scheme. It's not just a new name for an old order, it's a different order.
