>Extra pair of hands to carry shit
>Prolly knows how to make decent food with the bare necessities
>Mundane upbringing and outlook would bring different opinions to the table than what's normally seen in adventuring groups

I'd give him a shot. Hell, if he was polite I'd enchant his scythe.
>>
>Plot twist: The party salted his field (it was just a prank bro)

>The cleric reaches for a dictionary: He has no clue what "wroth" means.
>The wizard takes ten minutes to Contact Other Plane to see if letting this guy join is a good idea.

This fills me with angry.

9 out of ten times when a farmer has an issue, it's with a neighboring farmer. Unless this is going to go full-blown Hatfields & McCoys, I'm not gonna bother with poor people problems. Unless maybe he can provide mounts for the party? Still seems like more of a side quest.
>>
>>49758212
>If the farmer can tear it in half bear-handed, he's in.
Pretty sure he doesn't have any levels in druid.
>>
>>49758660
>Unless maybe he can provide mounts for the party?

Will porcine mounts do?
>>
>>49758660
Did you even read the second line of OP's post
>>
>>49758685
What part of
>he is eager to avenge his salted fields
did I ignore? Do you think other farmers can't salt a field, or that a farmer with salted fields can't own horses?

Assuming they can bear my party's weight and gear, I think they'd do quite nicely. Get a whole Gullinbursti thing going on
>>
>>49758065
First throw that piece of crap scythe away and give him a sword and a shield. He will be the porter and if he survives more than a handful of battles we might give him a share.
>>
>>49758065
Explain to him that the idea of salt rendering land infertile is just a meme and he should get back to farming.
>>
>>49758682
>Will porcine mounts do?
Not cool, man. Those are the guy's daughters.

Oh good, another recruit. Join the other 80,000 in the back, we have an undead empire to put down.

Hey, don't rub salt into the wound.
>>
>>49758114
Same. I'd give him a real weapon for fighting unless he has some fancy skill with that scythe.
>>
>>49758065
>>49758660
What if he's an ex-soldier who was promised land in exchange for service, only to discover upon his return from war that most of the best land has been bought up by the nobility to be worked by slaves? Said nobles also salting many other fields reserved for returning soldiers in order to ensure less competition for their goods.

And a bunch of other nobles want the "less competition" motherfuckers dead yesterday. You don't fuck with real estate. People come and go, but land is land. You don't fuck with the land (unless you're out to prove a very unsubtle political point).

The field-salters are like bicycle salesmen who go around slashing car tires.
>>
>>49763339
Maybe they should pay him a salary.

just afix the blade vertically and you've got a war scythe.
>>
>>49758065
Looks like at least 14 in strength and con, plus he looks kinda mad. Probably isn't the type to talk back or ask me to go easy on the beastmen. With that hair, he could probably rock a legionary look too.

8/10 would hire as henchman and provide with proper weaponry and armor.

Sure, but I'll need 10,000 credits up front before I take him and the old wizard to Alderaan.

I don't know why you guys are being so snotty, this is clearly the new guy introducing his ranger character. You know he's going to leave if you don't stop being a douche to him.
>>
>>49758212
>The wizard takes ten minutes to Contact Other Plane to see if letting this guy join is a good idea.

>>
>>49763756
If he's a farmer, shouldn't you be paying him a celery
>>
>>49770390
The word salary comes from the word salt (think 'saline') because Romans were paid in salt, a valuable spice at the time.
>>
>The paladin is staring at the orc infant, indecision warring in his heart
>the farmer walks up and casually chops the baby in half with his hoe
>"they're like rats, ya knows? 'Ceptin at least a rat knows ta clean itself. Lordy do these buggers stink."
>slaps paladin on the back and walks off whistling
>>
>>49758065
Our warlock will most certainly milk him for all the info he has on the local area, and add him to his personal cult of 1 guard and a bee.

Our wizard will probably try to fuck him, potentially resulting in this NPC fleeing the party forever.

Cleric might be that annoying loud friend to him.

Monk, Ranger and Bard probably wouldn't mind a farmer coming along.
>>
>>49758065

Enchant that motherfucker's eyes so that he sees the enemy as devious sugar cane.

Can't go wrong.
>>
>>49758660
9 out of 10 times, when an ol farm boy has a problem with someone, either the someone or the farm boy is ending up in a swallow grave or in the pig pen.

Beware a man who raises pigs.

I'd take the farm boy.

We test his worth. If he cannot fight on our level or provide some other value we do not already have, we take him. If not then he stays at home and cries over his fields if for some reason the magic user can't solve it.

Well-meme'd, but why would you even need fighters if you have a magic-user in the party?
>>
>>49772191
They sowed his field with salt.

He ploughed their graves with death
