I love this idea, the whole chapter should be as oblivious as OP to the connotations of their battle cry. Their presence and battle cry is known to break the morale of the enemy and cause massive routs in its lines while their allies are left shock and dumbfound as they relentlessly pursuing the rearguard of the enemy.

Anyway, Prison Planets are a thing in the Imperium. Hanging seems inefficient if you're doing a lot of executions but could make sense under the right circumstances.

Trim out the obvious bait shit and this is a really nice idea for a chapter.

I like the idea for the chapter, but like >>49749159 said, hanging would be pretty innefficient if you're doing a bunch of executions. You think the idea would work better on an arid sort of american frontier/wild west planet? Hanging was kind of the thing associated with capital punishment back then I think.

Doing things an inefficient way does fit with how the Imperium operates.

As for the efficiency of hangings, that depends on a few things:
- Do they reuse the same rope* for multiple hangings ?
- How long is the drop ?
A short drop leads to a slow death through strangulation. A long drop can cause decapitation, which would quickly free up the rope for the next person to be executed.

*It doesn't have to be rope. Maybe this planet produces a lot of adamantium cables. So the prisoners are hung with the planets main export.
