Slowly painting up a squad of these.

I'm a big nerd for WW1 so a model that's essentially an amalgamation of every army in it with a garnish of grimdark is fantastic for me. Very simply designed, but gorgeous and they stand out, but not for being outlandish.

Absolutely everything about the Castellax, especially the ones with Mauler Bolt Cannons because those ammo belts are sexy as fuck.

Tear up Marines pretty good too, which is why I usually bring a small detachment alongside my CultMech when the opponent allows 30k.

I'm not sure. The Cadians are popular as GW markets them as the best at all round combat. They're not specialists, but give them a job to do and they'll do it as best as they can, without a weakness in another area.

Krieg is trench warfare, mass bayonet charges, cavalry, and not caring about losses. Whilst the latter is more grim (not that something has to be grim to be 40k), but Cadians are popular as you can play them as anything, you don't have to get shoehorned into a style of combat you don't like. Not that I wouldn't want Kriegers to be standard, it might make them cost less than snorting crushed diamonds.

I love dreadnoughts as a whole, but the old metal chaos dread is my favorite. First model I ever bought.

After some thought, these little bastards. I bought a Polish fleet because of the Zamiec SF. I love the CoA Epicurus. DL's Luftlancers, I'd have bought a box if I didn't know how shit Spartan is at metal models.

But the humble Cleomedes has grown on me so much since they were released. The tumblehome, sloping prow, recessed turret and the detachable bridge for submerging have made it one of my favourite models.

That's hard to pin down.

My first miniatures were Daemonhunters way back in the day and I always loved the super eclectic visuals of an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor and his lackies.

Going to have to say it's probably Hector Rex for single model and Grey Knight Terminators for unit.


I mean look at this guy, I think he gets the baroque look of the Imperium perfectly. Stoic and strange, futuristic but oddly medieval. Gas mask and long flowing hair. God tier model and for FW, pretty cheap too.

But that's a hard choice and I don't want to make my other models jealous.

I don't actually play the tabletop game, but am quite into the video games (DOW:UA mostly) and more recently the fluff/books etc...

Kind of thinking about getting a set of these guys to just put on my bookshelf or something, I like the minor customization and distinctions they have so while they all started out with relatively uniform armor, they each tacked on random stuff to it over the years of their own preference which gives it a bit more personality than most more "uniform" other armies. No I'm not saying that the SM termies all look alike, I'm saying that the differences between the CSM termies "pop" better.

honestly my only issue with the vanilla Godwin terminators and their chaos equivalent is that they can't turn their heads. They can rotate them but they can't turn them left to right.

Cataphractii, Tartaros and Aegis terminator armor can turn their heads just fine but Godwin can't.

This isn't an issue in art or canon, just the current models.

I'm a pretty big fan of the Basilisk. I've always loved the concept of artillery and whenever I think about a tough squad of enemies coming to kill my line infantry I get a sense of relief knowing that anything less armored than a Terminator is probably going to get pulped. I also just like the ascetics to be honest.

I hate to join the "EVERY POSTS GW SCULPTS" team but my favorite is definitely the Khorne Lord on Juggernaut.

Someone, on here I think, years ago described the model as positively dripping "languid arrogance" and I cannot think of a better may to sum it up. This model alone is the reason why my first GW army was Warriors of Chaos, and when I sold them for Skaven I kept precisely three models: Tzeentch Sorcerer with no face, OOP metal Chaos Spawn, and the Khorne Lord on Juggernaut.

Runnerup would be the Chaos Terminator sculpts. Love me some tusks.

My thoughts about Age of Sigmar aside, I really love the tree revenants. They're a conversion idea I've essentially wanted to do since I started playing Woodies in 6th ed.
