This is the kind of thing I'd use GURPS for, but just use BRP since it's less effort for you as a GM.

Of course any of the DIY toolkit systems can work it if you're willing to put the effort

D20 is not built to do that, anon. Sorry to break it to you. I strongly encourage you to step out of your comfort zone if you really want to nail the feel you're going for.

Good candidates for games that would give you want you want, depending on how you ran the game:

Bounty Head Bebop is some kind of inverted variation on d20. Can't tell you if its any good because I don't know if anyone has ever actually played it. Always been curious about it though.

No, seriously.

Outlaw Star is space-fantasy. Gene is a space wizard, the catgirl is a were-tiger, there's a katana girl and I'm just going to go ahead and assume the android chick is some form of divine type thing.

Rename some of the skills (arcana->computers, religion->ancient technology or something) and you are essentially good to go. Space combat is iffy, but you can handle it as a group challenge.

If you replace the "medieval" part with "space" you get Outlaw star. It is Slayers... in space!

And 4e fluff is made to be replaced. Not that you need to work too hard....

Ballad of the Laser Whales was more or less explicitly meant to be Outlaw Star where everything is German instead of Chinese. It's D10 though, and also not finished. The developers of SoS made it in two days as a joke, and it turned out to be better than SoS.

Stars without numbers is d20 I think.

SWN literally only uses D20's to hit things with a weapon. It's primarily 2d6+modifier based with a few different dice for weapon damage.
