I don't play guild, but I kind of like the Hoffman avatar. Something about being whisked away by your creation that's very Iron Giant.

I'm terrible at naming Miss or Sir models, but I had this idea of a crazy cat lady Sebastian or Feline Remains

>What crew should get the next nightmare kit and why should it be yours?
Nightmare Viktorias, because it'd be either a different visual aesthetic (grunge, Korean pop, or Classical Instruments with women in powdered wigs...and the piano of conflict) or go gender bender and make the Pillar Men

Avatar Nico and his zombie palanquin. Dude's a baller.

>LE model suggestions (funny ideas for the next limited edition model)
A LE Judge named Miss Trial just seems so obvious, but I'd go for an LE Lynch named Miss Stakes too. But my worst idea by far is an Asian themed Forgotten Marshal named Miss Ing, Presumed Dead.

>What crew should get the next nightmare kit and why should it be yours?
The Nightmare Lucius box with all his guild models outed as mimics isn't really an original idea, but it's still really cool.

A Nightmare Seamus that came with an alternative, less undead-hooker-y, option for belles would also be nice. I'm not sure what theme you'd go with, though. Maybe do an English aristocratic look with Seamus in wig as ridiculous as his hat, fox hunting attire with an oversized rifle, and some undead butlers and manservants.

Would-be Henchman here. Is there much more to it than making sure there's an event every month and being willing to run a demo if someone asks?

Ophelia and Trixiebelle riding a boar, guns in one and mugs in the other hand.

As far as alternate models and the like I'm like to see a Raethford box. It can have his scenario adding to it including a Trough the Breach adventure and his model can have a 'counts as Rasputina' card in addition to his scenario card. Definitely have some twisted looking Ice Gamin and he likes the Ice Golem. Not sure what else to throw in there, Maybe an alternate Ice Dancer and December Acolyte, just one of each to round it out.

Ask Wyrd.
I assume they'd tell you.
I think you need a home store too.
>>
>>49520733
Hooooly shit, he's a beast.
It would be pretty cool to have a model for him, yeah.
Or have him as a 13ss Henchman, maybe?
He'd be a little less horrifying without the guaranteed 3rd AP to Slow>Paralyze>Kill a model in a single turn.

The summoning is very expensive and not fantastically consistently useful unless he's burning through hundreds of stones, which is again balanced if he's not a Master and is competing with the Master for stones and high cards.

Aaaand holy shit he starts with Armour +5 how did I miss that.

15ss cost?

He'd be nobbed against Armour ignorers and suit-removers.
Well, not-as-good. Still deleting models left and right.
>>
>>49519471
Henchman here. That's about it. Report your events and demos, acquire soul stones. You don't even need to do one every month. Once every 3 is all that's required.
>>
>>49517905
>LE model suggestions (funny ideas for the next limited edition model)
Do we have a Miss Andry yet?
We could have a alt. female Seamus with a bunch of scantily clad undead male hookers.

This or Chippendale zombies.
>>
>>49522098
>This or Chippendale zombies.
I can dig it. Gotta justify those 8 wounds and hard to kill. lol

Also Seamus would be cute as a girl. Sort of the crazy tsundre girl taken to 11. And cute freckles.
>>
I haven't played since 1E. I have an unused metal Lord Chompy Bits, although he came with just the shoulder Dreamer, but without regular standing Dreamer on base.

Did I just have bad luck or was it intended?

Also, what do I need to run him, aside from regular plastic starter box.

You'll need a separate Dreamer.

The basics for Dreamer are his summons: Daydreams, Alps, and Coppelius are in the box. Stitched Together, Insidious Madness, Lelu and Lilitu you'll get separately. You can summon Teddy but you'll need Tannen to make it work.

Beyond that, Neverborn staples like Doppelganger and Waldgeists are solid. Widow Weaver, Kade, Hooded Rider/Nekima, Emissary, Beckoners are all good options.

A bit of progress done.

Becoming a henchman souds interesting. There doesn't seem to be much of a community yet in my area. My LGS even took Malifaux out of the store...
Might be interesting to try and expand upon it, but on the other hand...so much work...
>>
What are the staples for the outcasts?
I'm going to dive in and either get the von schill, Victorias or the Tara box.
Besides glue, a knife, clippers and a ruler what else would I need?
>>
>>49523044
>Tannen
How does he summon Teddy?
>>
>>49523088
Vanessa, lazarus, and Aionus are the three I constantly see above what's in those boxes. Tara Box is great, because Void Wretches are A+ scheme runners, especially with Aionus to give them fast. Von Schill box is solid - you'll want the Specialist and the Librarian eventually, and the man himself isn't bad. Viks get you Taelor, who is worth the price of admission alone, but not much else unless you're specifically running the Sisterhood.
>>49523117
Tannen can give you +2 to all flipped (not cheated) Masks, in return for -2 to all flipped (not cheated) Tomes.
>>
>>49519471
>>49521327
You need to know the rules well enough to not inadvertently create a homebrew league when players need rulings. And that's not as easy as it sounds if you've interacted with half of those henchmen fucks.
>>
>>49523136
Wait, not cheated? Are you sure? It says flipped or played. Playing a card is the same as cheating one in, right?
>>
>>49523078
Looks pretty good. I don't think I like the stubble though.
>>
>>49523136
>Tannen can give you +2 to all flipped (not cheated) Masks, in return for -2 to all flipped (not cheated) Tomes.
The wording is flipped or played, so cheated cards count. The card actually gas to have a mask though, so the RJ doesn't count, and masks added by soul stone usage don't count.
>>
>>49523211
I-It's part of the model. There's a horn growing out from his shoulder pushing against the fabric.
Yes.
>>
>>49523241
That's what I was getting confused by, thank you. I knew there was some weirdness, and I thought it was 'not cheated' for some reason.
>>
>>49523137
That sounds like it warrants a story time.

Henchmen fucks? I'll suggest that for the next run of our shirts.
>>
>>49523241
Correct that spending a soul stone doesn't trigger leave it to luck but the red joker can if you choose masks as the wild suit. The RJ counts as whichever suit you choose. It should be in the FAQ which I can't check now.
>>
Which masters are consideres bad/hard choinek for new players?
>>
>>49524029
You are correct, the FAQ states that the suit chosen is considered to be printed on the red joker.
>>
>>49524068
From a financial point of view any summoner.
Just off the top of my head these masters are probably the most beginner unfriendly; Lucius, Jack Daw, Shenlong, Leviticus.
>>
>>49517905
Desolation engine should really have looked closer to the simulacrum than a flesh golem. Both versions are pretty bad and look nothing like a bunch of fused abominable humans.
>>
>>49524068
Lady Justice gets a bad rep as well as Mah.
>>
>>49524340
I agree. They aren't bad models, they just don't look like what you'd think.

>>49524560
Lady J is okay.
Mah is under-powered though.
>>
Is Rogue Necromancy any good?
>>
>>49525661
Yes. Especially if you can make it for free from Spare Parts.
>>
>>49525661
It's pretty thoroughly okay.
>>
>>49525686
Well I don't play McMourning, wondering if it's worth taking in a list for Seamus or Nico. I think I'd rather just take an Emissary every time though.
>>
>>49525700
He's not bad with Seamus, but Yin is also important to him and they're both expensive. Nico would much rather have the emissary, but with his minion summoning pool you can kind of get away with a more elite core. If you want to go the Spare Parts route, you only really want to do it on non-corpse users, so McMourning, Seamus, and Molly mostly.
>>
>>49525726

That's why I try to squeeze in Toshiro or even Izamu.

What goes well with Seamus? Stuff that triggers Wp duels, so Yin and Hanged, but how else to fill out his crew?

Anyone mind posting their rooster riders? I'm trying to work on mine right now but chickens are so fucking colorful and holy fuck I thought it would be easier to paint a rooster. Want to see what you guys have done for them.
>>
>>49526138
The crew I run with Seamus is

Seamus -- 4ss
+Corpse Bloat - 2ss
+Red Chapel Killer - 1ss
+Sinister Reputation - 1ss
Copycat Killer - 3ss
Datsue Ba - 8ss
+Spirit Beacon - 1ss
+Spirit Whispers - 1ss
Nurse - 5ss
Rotten Belle - 5ss
Rotten Belle - 5ss
The Hanged - 9ss
Yin The Penangalan - 8ss

The idea behind the list is that people are going to fail WP duels and corpse bloat hurts like a sack of hammers. Seamus can also run around doing his Teleport focus shoot funtimes because of the Seishin that you can put as a wall in front of him to block LOS.
>>
>>49526679
I'll be honest I went with a Bluish black for mine. I just didn't think I could do mottled well.

>>49526265
They can't say I didn't do my job last week, won a game for the the child and the Man, for outcasts. I hope we can pull it together.

Speaking of outcasts though, and Freikorps specifically, I decided after chatting with a bunch of my local players yesterday and Pitching them the idea (and hearing no complaints) that I would be making a Brotherhood of Steel Freikorp crew. I'm actually really looking forward to putting it together and painting it all up.
>>
>>49527150
I won for trickster and child. And let's make it happen. Because Leveticus needs another waif. Also brotherhood of steel freikorp sounds amazing! I tried my hands at a power rangers set up, but it only partially worked.
>>
>>49527217
I'll be honest I saw that Molly had a storyline for the child and I really want to do that one. But I'm gonna stick with Outcasts. I think Jack Daw could be good for the Man and the Woman, but I don't know about the child. I may go with misaki and Do my best to kill everything before the end of the game so that I can just pick them up at my leisure. Or maybe I should go with something like Laz and Rusty to get a bunch of grenades out.

also on the note of the BoS Freikorps. The only ones I'm really having trouble with coming up with something for are Von Schill (who I think I'm just going to do up in something like the pristine T-51b armor) and the strong arm suit Who I need to hunt down a powerfist for.

Trappers are going to be Regular BoS with either an elongated laser rifle, or a regular sniper rifle, Librarians are going to be in The "ant armor" (X-01 w/ a plasma gun), and the specialist is going to be one of the Heavy duty dudes with a Gatling laser.

So what is a good all rounder 50ss jack daw crew?
>>
So, we had a bit of an odd situation tonight. The Claw, the Titania minion, wound up unbiuried on top of a building due to Tara shenanigans. A Void Wretch was down on the ground beneath it, and the Claw walked to the edge of the roof and used Challenge of Winter to try to push it into base contact. The Void Wretch normally would've stopped at the base of the wall, because it was Impassible, but being Incorporeal it ignored that. So...Where does it stop? Does it "push" upwards even though the walls aren't climbable?
>>
>>49529478
"The pushed model cannot pass through impassable objects (such as other models, or walls) or climb."
page 43 of the big rulebook.
I'd guess it would still push towards the claw and probably be under it inside the building.

Does anyone know the release date for the Arcane Emissary and the Wind Gamin? Wyrd site didn't say and Miniature Market just says pre-order.
>>
>>49529478
>>49529621
I would say that that because of incorporeal the Wretch does not need to climb to reach the top of the building, so it would end up at the top in base contact with The Claw.

Malifaux is a top down game and there is nothing in pushes that completely eliminates changing elevation, for example being pushed 'up' a hill that is not impassable.

>Dreamer
Insidious madness, stitched together, widow weaver, more alps, lelu & lilitu, teddy, doppelgänger.
>Lilith
Almost anything in neverborn, Lilith is the good all rounder of her faction, if you want a thematic grow list though....
Young/mature nephilim, doppelgänger, primordial magic, lilitu, nekima, black blood shaman if you are feeling froggy.
> Ramos
Mech rider, and more spiders. Large arachnids are good but pretty much any construct works well with him.
>Seamus
Most people will tell you doxies are the next purchase, but I run Seamus kind of differently (I posted my list earlier in the thread) so I'm just gonna go over some good stuff to have in ressers in general then the extras I got for Seamus.
Staples: nurses, 1 hanged (I would probably not have 2 if the box didn't come with 2), seishin (kirai, datsuba, and Anna Lovelace all summon them they are good to have), and the Seamus box set as it comes with 3 rotting belles and madam sybelle, the belles can make it into any list especially with a nurse to give them hallucinogens.
Seamus list: as I said earlier I play Seamus kind of differently, taking advantage of the fact that fail Wp duels heal him hence I take a hanged and corpse bloat. Stuff that isn't on the staples list are Datsuba, who I bring for summoning seishin and causing more horror and wp saves. And yin to hand out negative twists on Wp and just generally be a pain. Other than that I like to take a nurse, two rotting belles, and the copycat killer. The list is strong and once you have it figured out quite tough to play against in most strategies because Seamus chooses a section of the board and makes it a pain to go into.

Summons and supports nightmares, can turn into Lord Chompy Bits to reposition or kill stuff. Add-ons: Lelu and Lilitu, insidious madness, stitched together, Teddy, widow weaver, doppelganger

>Seamus

Question from last thread:

Can a buried model be sacrificed?
I can't tell by the big rule book since it just says being buried is removed from play (usually placed on stat card) and sacrificed is being removed from play but doesn't count as killed.
>>
>>49537666
After reading the wind gamin thing from the wiki, it talks about them being sacrificed while they're buried.
>>
Can someone give me some tips about gremlins crews? How do they play? What should I buy with each starter? I'm mostly interested in Brewmaster and Ophelia.
>>
>>49537666
>>49537700

Yes, but you'll have to remember that most actions are going to require you to target the buried model. So while you can sacrifice it, you probably can't actually target it with the ability to cause it to sacrifice.
(A problem for all but a few models in the game)
>>
>>49537700
Never knew about that ability, thanks for the heads up. Hopefully it's a case of abilities overriding basic rules, but if not that's really disappointing.
>>
>>49537995
It might be just because of that rule, though. I'm a newer player and don't know the rules very well.
>>
>>49537995
I don't think there's anything in the rules that prohibits them being sacrificed. It just didn't normally happen, because only a limited number of models can effect buried models.
>>
>>49537666
Sure, if there's an action or ability that says you can. Wind Gamin spring to mind.
>>
>>49538163

>>49538163
If that's the case there's a lot of text missing to easily allow that deduction from simply reading the core rules.
>>
>>49538295
>>49538312
I think I see where you're getting hung up. The phrasing at the end of the first paragraph is only there to specify that, at the time the model is buried, it is removed from play but not via death or sacrifice. It doesn't prevent a model from being killed or sacrificed later, it just means that being buried does not also kill or sacrifice the model, as those are the "primary" ways a model is removed from play.
>>
>>49538380
I mostly want more sacrifice text, I don't find removing from play a removed from play model intuitive or sensical.
It obviously can happen because Wind Gamin, but is that ability override or not?
Monkeys Paw (released in the same wave) sacrifices the model at the end of the turn and Horrible Luck states if it would be buried, sacrifice it. Maybe it's just for models like Bête, but Horrible Luck seems to not be completely in line with Gamin.
>>

Gremlins are generally higher model count with a high risk/high reward style play. That said, each of their masters do things differently.

Brewy is more of a control type. Can be a bit weird for new players as he has a very unique style. Trixiebelle, Lenny, Burt are good inclusions for him.

Ophelia is more straightforward. She kills things dead. Lenny, Trixie, and Burt are useful here as well. Plus the usual gremlin staples of slop haulers and rooster riders.
>>
>>49538312
>If that's the case there's a lot of text missing to easily allow that deduction from simply reading the core rules.
I don't think there is.
If the rules don't prohibit something, I would think it's allowed.

The rules seem pretty clear on what burying does, and it doesn't prohibit sacrificing.
>>
>>49538470
I think they would never been better saying that buried models are"removed from the play area" since they aren't really out of the game.
>>
>>49538494
Think of everything the rules don't prohibit. Simply because the core rules don't say I can't break all of my opponents miniatures and punch them in the face doesn't mean it's legal. Rules say what you can do and explain corner cases with prohibitions.
If it is easy for you to understand how RFG works and why, I'd like some assistance.

>>49538552
I don't quite understand your post, but the buried text states they are removed.
>>
>>49537782
Gremlins focus a lot more on crew synergies. They are likely to use thier own wounds as an expressible resource. Which is counteracted by the fact they have access to the best healing in the game.

They are on average much cheaper then most crews. On top of that a lot of thier models have ways to generate additional ap, which means they have a much more quantity vs quality style of play.

Ophelia is a pretty straight forward damage dealer.
Brewmaster focuses on debuffing.
>>
>>49538613
The rules also don't specify that Pedrita is allowed to shoot a bayou gremlin on Tuesday if the temperature is in the mid sixties with a slight breeze out if the southwest.

I'm not going to check the rulebook to make sure that it's okay.
>>
>>49538856
Your example is covered under the combat rules, don't need to check for wind speed.
>>
>>49538927
Double checked. Nothing allows you to make attacks on Tuesday. So the shot misses.
>>
Two questions;

1; Can Aionus kill Leveticus while he's burried, or will leveticus just return to full wounds and stay buried?

2; I'm fighting Perdita over the Child (divergent paths), with colette, but I won't be able to win by simply covering the map with two layers of scheme markers.

What should I do? I'm thinking of;

Colette, practiced production, cabaret coreography (might replace with sieze the day), practiced production.

3 mecha-pigeons

1 killjoy with imbued protection and decoy

1 arcane emissary with illusive and killswitch

2 coryphée
-----

Kill-prompt and kill some more basically. I just need to get one more piece of fabric and then I can Run and Hide, so, technically, I don't need botha a butcher and a blender AND a rampageing bull, but still.

(For my arcanist crew, including mercs, I have; colette, cassy, angie, emissary, effigy, 2 coryphee, 2 ice dancers, 2 performers, 2 manequins, 3 pigeons, killjoy, and easy acess to Johan.).
>>
>>49539250
Similar to how the rules specify when los is blocked or when shoot actions cannot be taken, Tuesday and weather data would also be mentioned. Since it is not, they are not relevant to determining factors unless specified by an action, ability, condition, etc.
I asked you for assistance in understanding your reasoning and you seem to be trying to argue against the nature of rules, saying they must specify every instance of what is legal (not illegal) instead of providing variables and a system of deducing what is legal. Sometimes, I just don't get people.
>>
>>49539867
probably trolling. in the big book damage section it says "When a number of points of damage is taken by a model, it reduces its current Wounds by that amount. If the model is reduced to 0 or fewer Wounds it is immediately removed from the game as killed." so we have removed from the game as killed, buried, and sacrificed. we can attack and kill removed as buried models. don't think of 'removed as' like a zone cause it's a literal physical action.

I was thinking it would be good to do a Henchman Hardcore (or smaller) micro-tourney on the off months.
Would be easy to demo with that too.

Something with two or three models per player, a little like an Enforcer brawl but with more scope for model interactions?
Or would it be too small-scale to work properly?

You could get a Performer for that, or drop Killswitch and the Doves for a Trapper (From the shadows).

Yu doesn't bring enough for a HH. You'd be better off with Toshiro +2Gumo. Or maybe could swap the Jorogumo for 2 of the half-dozen 9 ss TT henchmen. Though Toshiro+Gumos should work quite well.

Turf War is a hard strategy to manage when you only have 4 models and Yu and Graves keep hucking your model out of range.

>>
>>49543716
And if you and your opponents don't mind you can easily ignore that. There is zero advantage to be had in leading a crew with a henchmen when you can lead with a master, there's absolutely no reason you can't use a henchman if your opponent is okay with it.
>>
>>49543758
If you and your opponents don't mind you can ignore any rule in the game. That doesn't mean it's how the game is written, and that's what was being asked. According to base Malifaux, you cannot. Saying you can change a rule is useless, since that's true of anything.
>>
>>49543768
There's also story encounters that let you lead a 25 SS crew with a master. If he wants to lead with a henchmen and he's fine with putting himself at a handicap it's fine. There's literally nothing to gain from it.
>>
>>49543823
Sure, but telling him that he can do it is not useful, considering that in 99% of games, it wouldn't be allowed. Not a matter of nothing to gain from it, a matter of that's not how Malifaux works.
>>
>>49543831
>99%
Naw he's good for pretty much anything that isn't a tournament.
I'd be surprised if there are more then a handful of players as autismo as you anon.

I'd probably let him run the henchmen with an extra ap.
>>
I grabbed the wild ones cause they looked cool, but as a learning crew they seem pretty complex. Is there like a basic list I could play a couple times which isn't complete garbage to learn all their interactions?
>>
>>49544114
Weird to say, but I'd suggest getting the base McCabe box. It's still got the same leader, it has Sidir, who doesn't look awkward as fuck on that base, and it has Wastrels, which work better with Sidir and Dismounted McCabe, while Mounted Guard work better with Mounted McCabe. Also, combining the 2 boxes and buying upgrades gives you a solid 50ss list for later. For now, use the Wastrels instead of Guards and only 1-2 upgrades on each.
>>
>>49544165
Aren't the models stat wise except for the wastrels/mounted guard identical though? He can just buy the wastrels separately. It's not as if he can hire Sidir and Luna as they have the rare 1 trait and would count as Iggy Pup and Cherri
Bomb.
>>
>>49544228
Wastrels do not, as far as I am aware, have their own box. If they do, I'd recommend them - they make synergies much more obvious by basically always being the correct choice for the equipment upgrades.
>>
>>49544242
Them not having boxes actually makes sense, seeing as how they designed the sprues for the older plastics. My mistake.
>>
>>49543967
You are saying he can do something that is not allowed by the rules. Any rules can be houseruled/changed ect but that is not what people are here to talk about. People are here to talk about Malifaux not what some group decided the rules system should be. If you had stated that it was not allowed by rules but you could talk with your opponent that would make sense. Simply saying he can is wrong.

This is another anon not the previous one you replied to.

>>49542543
Post new Banasuva pics please.
It's a really coolmodel, I'm loving the variety of
paint schemes coming out.

From what I remember about Ice Dancers, they're probably not exactly necessary for many Arcanist crews - amazing scheme runners (but we already have a bunch of those) and highly-mobile early-game Ice Mirrors for Raspy.
The Ice Path(?) I remember hearing was probably too expensive to cast for what it does, and potentially just as inconvenient for you as the opponent.
Still handy for slow Rasputina (and others, I guess) crews to screen enemy models out of objective zones (Stashes,Turf Wars etc.) until the snowball rolls up the field.

>>49543967
To be fair to 'autismo anon', he's absolutely correct, and telling a new player otherwise (without specifically stating it would only be by agreement with the opponent) is unecessarily misleading.

Seriously though if you are having problems with 'dora I would take a look at the crew you are bringing first, can you engage from range? Can you bring anything that gives [+] on Wp duels? Are you trying to go headlong into the meat grinder instead of focusing on schemes and strats?

Also wastrels are pretty good, I won't say they are the best but being able to get defensive for taking two walk actions is nothing to scoff at on a 4 stone model.

Hounds, Austringers, and a big model like a Peacekeeper are a good start. Mounted Guards like models with Cg7, so Hunters, Executioners, Francisco, Grimwell, etc all benefit.

McCabe has a lot going on, but at its most basic you reactivate a minion every turn, pass out slow where you can, jeep that promises bubble where it needs to be, and toss upgrades situationally.

Are you planning to go Guild or Ten Thunders? Ether way Guild Hounds are great for some cheap fodder and the obvious buff from Iggy Pup. For Thunders the Dawn Serpent is an amazing Minion to give reactivate to from the Badge of Speed upgrade. Then on the Guild side you have the new Witchling Thrall for a beefy minion to do the same, though for that one you'll need to get a proxy until the actual model comes out.

>>

Executioners are ok, but not great. At their price, you'll get better mileage out of the other guild beaters, unless you know you'll need to get around Df triggers.
>>
>>49550437
Lady J doesn't really use s totem. Scales are a little pricey for a Wp buff and some situational card draw. Sonnia loves the malifaux child, though.

Executioners are a lot better with their freebie upgrade now. They tend to be overkill in a Lady J crew, though. McCabe, McMourning, Nellie, and Lucius get more use of of them since they can move the fatty around.

Brutal Effigy and Emissary would be good inclusions for both of them.

>>

The child can copy her actions, namely flame wall. The only thing better than dropping 2 50mm pieces of impassable terrain is dropping 4

Guild beaters include, but are not limited too: Francisco, The Judge, Grimwell, Peacekeeper, Pale Rider, and Phiona. The Emissary is pretty strong, but more of a support piece than anything. Fatties are very good damage dealers, they're just a bit slow and a bit squishy.

>>
>>49550894
Well, you can have her in any crew so ho nuts.

Cache isn't bonus points. It's your soulstones you or any hench/master can use to add suits, flip more cards, prevent damage, draw cards, or reflip initiative. Only your leader's cache is used, so any other henchmen you hire you'll just ignore it. Any SS you have left over after hiring can go in to your cache, to a maximum of 7.

Hannah is pretty useful for just about anyone. My personal favorite master to ruin her with is Nellie. No merc tax, arcane reservoir +2, and lots of actions to copy.

He's a big beast with support/control abilities and a solid attack. Can bury models and use the (1) actions of buried models.

With Lucius he gives out a healing aura and can make Lucius a legit melee threat with his new attack. Little expensive for a non-minion in a Lucius crew though.

With Hoffman he gains construct, gives + flips to power looped models in 3" and can offensively generate scrap. He also enables lots of bullshit by using buried models' actions, like popping targeting systems and using Howard's attack for auto-decapitation.

He doesn't do much for dita, just makes Obey easier and you don't randomize for him when shooting.

Not wanting to magnatize, I got an other pair of Coryphées to make a duet. I green-stuffed together the skirts in unatural shapes. Since My 2 coryphées have different color schemes, I'm thinking of painting this duet in both color schemes, each one in her own, but the colors of the skirts flow beyond their boundries into each others skirts, making a ying yang like swirl of colors.

Sounds good. Post pics of the result.

How do you get so good at sculpting?
>>
>>49553617
Rehersing. My first sculpts were ugly blobs. Now, many years later, it looks like this. You don't even need to reherse a lot, it comes quickly, as it's a bit like drawing, except you can push and pull the lines into proper shape when you do something wrong.
>>
>>49553591
From your description I thought it was gonna be lame as fuck, but that's killer.
Do you often mod?
>>
>>49553666
Not in Malifaux. I used to sculpt a lot from green stuff for 40k and warhammer, but I've fallen for malifaux now, so it's not much GW for me now, and malifaux doesn't really give me the opportunity to sculpt a lot.
>>
>>49553713
Maybe this is just the beginning. Malifaux sculpts can by dynamic, but they ain't always good. It does take more work, but I think the end results are cooler than the chunky plainness 40k can suffer from.
Your corphyee mod really accentuates their synchronized nature and creates a lot of movement.
Hope to see more shit.

>>

Crooligans are some of the best scheme runners and are an easy summon.
They're in Molly's box so you'll get them eventually as she is a great master and the rest of her box is very useful for ressers.

>>49546804
I was expecting Lillith was the main problem, and I usually kill her faily easily by T2/T3.

I play Colette, took Showgirls and Howard.

Howard spent all game paralysed, which was inconvenient but basically fine, because in doing so he boxed in about half his crew and ate a lot of full activations from a couple of beaters.

I ran around and maxed my schemes, and then lost the last point on the strat to lose by one instead of drawing.

I often run a Trapper, which usually does a good job deleting minions and zoning out the more fragile masters, but I just got Howard and wanted to try him out.

Bring Jack with Writhing Torment, Twist & Turn, and all three injustices. Writhing Torment is crazy good, it basically lets your shooty models always shoot and melee models always charge. Twist & Turn lets you torment one of your big guys with Jack, gives you a kinda-obey, and a bunch of other cool tricks. The Injustices are his thing, and make your opponent's life miserable.

Bring Envy with Creeping Terror, and consider one more C7 model (I like Lust and Greed). Envy has a big base to make sure as many models benefit from Creeping Terror as possible, and he's a shooty tormented model to boot. The other C7 members fill a variety of roles, but all of them have nasty auras and most have a good ability for Jack to borrow.

Then take a big 8+ SS murder machine. Lazarus, Alyce, Lovelace, Bishop, Sue, Taelor, etc... you're going to torment this model with Jack and then point it at whatever is most precious for your opponent and make that thing much less alive. I like Alyce, personally, because on top of her awesome gun she brings her own snares aura that makes life even shittier for your opponent. Probably give this model Oathbreaker unless you really need the stone or there's a better upgrade (like Return Fire on Sue).

Take at least one Guilty. Jack will copy Share Guilt on the first turn to torment your other model. They're also surprisingly competent scheme runners (Jack makes them way more mobile than they look), hit decently hard, and your models won't randomize when they're engaged which is super useful.

You've now got something like 10-20 extra stones for the rest of your models, upgrades, and cache. Maybe bring a second Guilty for marker heavy objectives, that 2nd C7 model if it'll help, a Librarian if you need to hold ground, or throw his totem in there. You've got all the Outcast faction plus tormented stuff like Nurses, Hanged, and Ubume. You're not Levi, but you're pretty flexible. (And take a Librarian and a 2nd Guilty if you're not sure.)

Guard the Stash

Leave Your Mark
Convict Labour - if opponent's crew is very small/elite
OR
Occupy Their Turf - if it looks more likely I can teleport minions into their half

Deploy in the North-West, with the Trapper on the roof of the North-Eastern building, in the corner nearest the centre.

Either way, place markers as if for Convict Labour for utility and bluffing.
If I don't take Occupy, teleport Performers behind their lines to lure (Siren's Call) away from Stashes and the centre, blowing up markers near the Stashes to put them on -- to Wp, while also bluffing Occupy. If I do take Occupy, lure them to my side and scrag 'em with Cassandra and two + shots from the Trapper.

Arcanists
50ss Crew

Colette Du Bois -- 6ss
+Arcane Reservoir - 2ss
+Shell Game - 1ss
+Cabaret Choreography - 2ss
Mechanical Dove - 2ss

Cassandra - 8ss

>>
>>49566081
That looks pretty solid. I might swap a Mannequin for a Raptor for super easy marker dropping and maybe switch the Effigy+Trapper for Hank just to clear out the middle.

I'd probably take this.

Ten Thunders
50ss Crew

Lucas McCabe -- 4ss
+Promises - 1ss
+Glowing Saber - 2ss
+Badge Of Speed - 2ss

Luna - 4ss

Guild Austringer - 6ss

Guild Austringer - 6ss

Guild Hound - 3ss

Guild Hound - 3ss

Izamu The Armor - 10ss
+Recalled Training - 1ss

Shadow Emissary - 10ss
+Conflux Of Exploration - 0ss

Leave Your Mark and either Neutralize/Occupy/Convict depending on the opposing crew. Usual McCabe fare, throw Izamu in somebody's face while Hounds win the game. Lots of LoS blocking terrain gives Austringers the perfect opportunity to ruin everything.
>>
>>49567088
What's the shadow doing? Other then being a beater?
>>
>>49567220
Im guessing bringing an extra upgrade, an extra push, and just a nice bonus to focus. What Im more curious about is why no Dawn Serpent or even Jorogumo.

They do a better job at keeping up by themselves and getting reactivate on them is so much more valuable than on an Austringer.
>>
>>49567088
I thought about Howard, but then Occupy is too easy to deny.
I want one Performer on my side to pull their models into executable positions, and then ideally one on their half - both to pull their models off the Stash, and to make the Occupy positioning easier to pull off in a single turn.

Swapping Mannequin for Raptor is a good idea actually - I usually use a Dove and Practiced Production's free markers, but if Cassandra's going to have to be beating face in the middle then there's a real chance she'll die before I get them all in place. The handy thing about them flying is that I could be dropping them on rooftops for inaccessible = un-deniable Leave Your Mark.
You've reminded me, I need to get around to finding a suitable Raptor proxy.
I don't want to buy a box of three (two?) for £8 when I'll only ever take one, and I'd ideally like to to be part clockwork/mechanical to fit in with the Doves and general Construct-y Arcanists, as I'm not particularly attracted to Marcus and all the other masters are more metal than meat.
There's a Warmachine Cryx unit of vulture things that would be perfect, but I don't want to buy a £28 box of niine of them either.
>>
>>49567220
Free upgrade, Fast for McCabe/Izamu, pushes, focus, that sort of thing.

>>49567280

>>49567220
>more valuable than on an Austringer.
Like he said, the Austringer is reliable damage on a target of your choice - valuable with all that LoS-blocking terrain.

>>49567088
>>49567220
What does the Shadow Emissary do, in general?
>>
>>49567516
He has a (1) action to give a model with an upgrade a 4" push and Fast, a Ca6 2/3/6, can discard a card to gain Focus +2 when he activates, can put up an aura with 1 ability per suit trigger (focused attacks gain blasts, armor blocks additional damage, burning enemies reduce Df, poison damage increased), and with the Conflux of Exploration he can attach a McCabe upgrade for free and can use Take This as a (0) to pass the upgrade off like McCabe.

He's just a big, durable toolbox.
>>
>>49567489
Wasn't even suggesting dropping the Austringers - a reactivating Dawn Serpent with double Call onto the Chi can tank quite a bit if you need him to and Ml7 or Sh7 with blast tend to make him a slightly preferable choice compared to Izamu for me.

>>49567516
I'd say every TT crew benefits from having either Yu or the Emissary. Yu's pushes, schemeplay and copying 0's compared to the Emissary's pushes, condition buffs and master upgrades. Overall the Emissary seems like a more generalist support piece compared to Yu's strong niche. Ultimately they're both really expensive support pieces though so you generally have to pick one or the other with your masters.
I'd generally prefer the Emissary with...
Mei - as she has no 0's and the Emissary's free scrap is just too good to pass up, especially with Toshiro in the mix
McCabe - for free upgrades and McCabe's natural pushiness making Yu a bit redundant for his price
Shenlong - because his extra ability is just so damn good and the conditions that'll be literally everywhere. The only master I often consider taking both Yu and the Emissary with
>>
>>49567489
I think Austringers are definitely a solid pick for a map like this.
>>
>>49567762
I could see that over Izamu. A little poison fun if you want to mess with the Emissary's aura as well. But I dunno, Izamu is such a beat stick it's hard to play McCabe without him. A Hound with the glowing saber and reactivate charging an enemy near a scheme marker and the promises bubble is 8 attacks with + flips ignoring nearly everything.
>>
>>49567887
You'll need lots of scheme markers and to kill every enemy in two attacks to get all 8, you're more likely to get 5 or 6 out of a given hound and that's assuming he survives for the chance to reactivate, no more companionning into yourself with the new FAQ. It's still quite scary if your within the Promises aura
>>
>>49568032
That's why I love McCabe. Every model is a potential back breaker.
>>
>>49568215
Don't I fucking know it, he can be a pain to plan against. Though for everyone out there remember that his and Toshiro's Auras don't work with Sh or Ca attacks. Cheaty ass Dawn Serpent, [+][+] on his shooting attack my ass.
>>
>>49568032
>you're more likely to get 5 or 6 out of a given hound

>>
>>49568934
In the gold old days I could give a hound reactivate and toss in the Badge of Speed for nimble with a nice push to boot. Then it could walk 3 times, reactivate itself because companion, walk again, and Deliver a Message turn 1.

Probably for the best that I can't do that any more.

No this started last week when I made the statement that I had been working on my Hamlin crew, and the guy who owns a rat crew but refuses to play it made a joking "fuck you" at me, and I think everyone thinks it was serious, as they have heard of the nightmarish turn one taking 45 min to an hour of the rat engine, and the turn 1 killjoy assassination stories.
>>
Is Hamlin a strong master or does peoples dislike of him come from simply how long it takes to actually play games against him?
>>
>>49569441
I'm wondering, did Wyrd ever make a scenario for the Hamelin v Lucius fight in the fluff?
>>
>>49569533
As grandpa Simpson once said "The truth lies somewhere in the middle."

It's a little of both, he can be strong because of how fucking unkillable he can be, and outactivating you every turn doesn't help you. You get a feeling of helplessness if you don't know how to counter him, as he heads off to beat objectives and you have to maneuver dudes around his rats or waste time hacking through them.
>>
>>49569309
Good point.
It must have been the trigger off the Prompt then - locally a couple of Colette players use the Performers for late Paralyses a lot, so if you get the chance to kill one it's often worth doing.
Cassandra would be the Performer reactivate, which is still pretty decent with the push triggers and Nimble.
It's pretty funny watching her charge, push twice and then nimble to threaten Entourage or a deployment zone scheme out of nowhere.
>>
>>49569533
He's pretty strong, but mostly it's a time thing, i think. You could have 40+ activation turn one.
>>
>>49569286
Is that not to some extent because it's not particularly fun for them if you go full-ratard?
>>
>>49569579
I haven't read the most recent book, but i read all the first ed stuff and up to the 4th in 2nd, and to my knowledge they've never crossed paths.

Come to think of it, I can't think of any stories where Lucius actually fights in the fluff. Mostly he's just manipulating/intimidating people.
>>
So, how DO you beat full scale rat swarm Hamelin?

Blasts?
Snipers?
Pigapult?
>>
>>49569661
I actually meant to type Nicodem instead of Lucius. I can't believe that I screwed that up.

I will have to check the2nd book and see if the story where Hamelin and Nicodem fought had one of those story scenarios.
>>
>>49569643
To be clear I don't intend To play it against anyone in the near future especially in a game that doesn't matter. And in this case I think it's the hype around him that is causing people to run instead of fighting him.

>>49569672
all of the above are fine, I think an opposing outcast crew with trappers hans and laz (maybe something like johan with a relic hammer as a finisher) would have a good chance of beating him. Alternatively I've had a grand experience with a disguise misaki crew where I threw misaki and 2 ronin in front of the jorogumo, he popped out killjoy and said "I'm charging misaki" I LOVE that I got to tell him, "No, you're going to charge Nix"
>>
>>49569672
Clever pushes would help.
blasts are good, area effect damage is better.

Bring rats of your own, for a giant clusterfuck.

Austringers really fuck up Hamlin himself. If you take out his totems for respawning, he goes down like a chump.
>>
>>49569698
I vaguely recall that story. I don't think they had a scenario with it.
>>
I just got Jakuuna and Ama no Zako. Going to try a Jack Daw hazardous terrain fuckery deal with them, Drowned, and Lust.

Good idea?
>>
As someone who doesn't own anything Outcast besides Ama no Zako, how big an investment would it be to start Hamelin? I love his theme and his playstyle seems fun, but I don't wanna buy into a whole new faction again.
>>
>>49569960
Other than his box and Brotherhood of the rat, you really just need more rats and a solid beater/shooter that you can obey with. Winged Plagues, I hear, are excellent ways to start blighting things and I know they are very solid scheme runners.

Any other suggestions?
>>
>>49569993
I would be remissed if we didn't discuss how easily killjoy can fit into the list.

everyone expects it, few prepare for it
>>
>>49570094
Right you are. Honestly I don't see Killjoy in my local meta that often...but then again, I'm one of the only two outcast players and the only thing I want from Hamelin are the winged plagues.
>>
>>49569736
>Bring rats of your own, for a giant clusterfuck.
If you move a rat in range, can/do you trigger a Rat King-ing off enemy rats too?

It would be a pretty hilarious way to torpedo a rat engine, hijacking it by running one of your own and stealing three activations from him.

>>49570262
What to Winged Plagues do except fly (presumably) and spread Blight?
>>
>>49570349
>If you move a rat in range, can/do you trigger a Rat King-ing off enemy rats too?
Yes that's exactly how it works.
>>
>>49570349
>>49570371
The main problem is that the ability checks when the rat first activates so you need to get it into position *then* activate it.

Also with the errata to Malifaux Rats you can't straight up hire them unless Hamlin is leading, but you can still summon them with the Obedient wretch and Rat Catchers.
>>
>>49570349
The biiiig thing that winged plagues do for me is that free push they get at the end of the turn. Since I don't play hamelin, nearly everyone is conditionless at that point and I can start the turn with them to get interaction based schemes off, like Distract, Tag and Release, or Mark or whatever.

Plus, in a pinch, since I'll never blight anything that positive to attack helps offset their low attack. The damage is piddly but armor doesn't matter when the best you can do is an average of 2 damage anyway.
>>
So what are some synergies with desparate mercs? I hear Tara has something neat with mini bombs with 'em, and viks have some cute trick. Are they just cheap bodies for activation control or somthing more?
>>
>>49571586
I think cheap is the biggest thing going for them.

If I was running daw, I'd stick a nurse with them for cheap choppy units.
>>
>>49571613
That's an idea. I seem to recall something about tara pegging them for 1 to give 'em fast, giving then they got pluses because they were at 3 wounds, and then having a henchman nearby with I pay better to focus them for a shitty card made them ++ on their wild shooting.
>>
>>49571586
They are disguised and the positive flip if you ding them can allow them to get some decent pings. The two inch reach also prevents the "walk to the other side of a scheme marker to remove* thing that gremlins love to do. Unless they have don't mind me.

I use them like them to fake inspection or to do their own thing on the sides. The free soul stone is a consolation prize and I never play for them. And wild firing is really there to burn cards out of a hand if you get a lucky hit.

So what are some good things to take in a Viks list if I don't want to get pigeon-holed into running the "sisters" theme if you don't mind my asking?
>>
>>49571709
Well, Blood and Ash are of course necessary and I usually run Vanessa, though I've had success not using her.

Aside form them (and usually that's 19 or so points spent, with a Malifaux child and including upgrades),

One 10 point model to match the table/scheme set up (Taelor if I sniff a summoner or hear arcanist for instance, Rusty if it's a shooting gallery, Lazarus since Vanessa can obey him, Sometimes a Strong Arm suit if I hear things that don't ignore armor),

Big Jake + Two 4 point models for scheme running (Usually winged plague, sometimes Desperate Mercs), or 2 Ronin + a Freikorpsmann if I want to do Public Demonstration

This set up gives about 5-6 stones to play with.

Nice. You the guy that did the Jack daw write up earlier?
>>
>>49571844
If the strat + schemes are ultra killy and I see Hunting party in the pool. I love running my all star list where the only non-enforcer or better is Malifaux Child who hides WAY in the back away from everything. Since my local meta loves arcanist I usually run.

Ash, Blood (normal set up)
Vanessa (Cause construct control is love)
Taelor, Johana (Cause 3 inch reach and eff yo constructs)
Rusty (sometimes Two convict gunslingers and I stick the tattoo on Vanessa for free Rapid Fires)

Nah, wasn't me. I'm a terrible jack player. I dropped him to get on the Parker train and haven't looked back. Just need to figure out who to sell or trade my daw stuff to.
>>
>>49571941
Ah fair enough. We all got that one master.

My 14 (sometimes 25) player meta is unusually high in resser and neverborn numbers.

Also how do you upgrade rusty, I keep wanting to take both desolate soul and from the Aether on her but and I can't bring myself to stick a 14 point model into a list.

I actually don't take either since she's solid without a 2 point upgrade. Usually I stick I pay better and either Scout the Field (If Show of Force is in the pool since a free walk at first turn is not terrible).

But then I don't really care for the summoning of abombs since I've not yet needed them. Since the viks more than handle the stabby side of things I use her as a mobile cannon. I don't see her as being especially important in Parker.

Ah alright I think I get it now. Id probably consider Laz in that case but that big dumb robot has been making it into all sorts of lists lately. Might roll with Hans just to get the old man painted before my brotherhood of steel show up.
>>
>>49572242
Speaking of Hans, I've found that I like using him with Scout the Field. Usually there's something that has 3 health that I can have him first turn kill. Or, I put my opponent on the back foot by injuring something.

In a tournament game, Wong had Old Cranky as a totem and was so worried about me popping him that he hid him in the back for the rest of the game.
>>
>>49572268
Yeah scout seems really rough on Hans
>get fucked opponent deployment.
>>
>>49572351
Too bad I rarely get those first turn kills against Ressers. Might be fun to soften up a Belle but usually I don't run him against Ressers.
>>
>>49572422
What do you run against ressers since they run wild in my meta?
>>
>>49572468
I love convict gunmen. Because ressers have tons of hard to wound and tend to be slower than many. The chance of getting free shots especially with return fire can eat through their high wounds.

Hannah shoving their summoners into the void if you're lucky though is sex at the top of the turn.

Taelor

I'm the convict gunmen anon. I am filled with shame for not pointing out Taelor. But yes, as soon as I hear Resser, Taelor WILL go into my list.

>disguise misaki crew where I threw misaki and 2 ronin in front of the jorogumo, he popped out killjoy and said "I'm charging misaki" I LOVE that I got to tell him, "No, you're going to charge Nix"
That sounds pretty fucking good times, actually.

>>49570557
>you can still summon them with the Obedient wretch and Rat Catchers.
So you'd have to take one of the above and puke a rat onto two that have already activated, away from any that haven't?
That does sound a bit fiddly.

I'm glad it turns out they are actually good for something.
Great models.
