Guys, i just ran a Jurassic Park / Jurassic World themed campaign with the rules of "DREAD". A survival oriented ruleset that some anon here suggested to me. It's based on a Jenga tower rather than dice.
It was the best Roleplay experience that i've ever had. If you like Jurassic Park and survival oriented campaigns, give this a try.
Bump for excellent taste. Dread is my favorite system

thank you!
If you like Dread you should try Ten Candles

This. I find Ten Candles is simply a better version of dread.

It's just way spookier. Perfect for the games they're made for
Tell us about the campaign OP. What was it about? What were the characters like?

I prefer the whole not having to stop the game to rebuild the jenga tower after it falls aspect.

Explain these systems.

In Dread, every action you make takes a pull out of a jenga tower, if the tower falls, you die.
In Ten Candles, there are ten candles on a table and if a player fails an action, one of the candles are put out. When all candles are put out, you die. Also the candles should be the only light source, making it spookier.

>Die

Why not just combine them for extra suspenseful rpg action
>Dread Candles
>there are ten candles on a Jenga tower, don't let it fall
>>49378858
Well, it really only applies to actions that could actually kill you

Dude, these are actually pretty sweet. This would be great for Halloween- thanks for pointing these out!

>Neckbeards die in House fire
Thinking about running DREAD for Halloween with this as a setting

Think it could work?

OP, that sounds badass, I've kicked around a similar idea before.
Any way you could share the questionaire sheets you used for your game?
Thanks,
Frank Porter
could anyone share the rules for Dread here please?
