So what do you guys think of the visuals of Paragon? I've started to give it a look since I'm getting a new Laptop and I just love the casual blend of sci-fi and fantasy. I mean, you have a fucking orc who plays war drums and is charismatic as fuck and a dude with Adam Jensen Arms that can turn into fucking rocket launchers to a demonic looking Sverog to a sociopathic fairy that wants to turn people into compost.
>Blend of scifi and fantasy
Why is this a thing? And why does it always make even less sense than Steampunk?

Eat shit, faggot. Magitek is and always will be the hypest shit.

Are you serious? That's like saying Starwars is cut from the same cloth as a genre where you put fucking cogs on a hat and say it's powered by steam and come up with uselesslly obnoxious names for a ray gun.
The only good thing to come out of it is porn.

Not ALWAYS.

The designs in Paragon just don't really seem to have a focus.

Destiny has some pretty great designs and guns overall. Most people would disagree with you.
Even /v/ that vehemently hates Destiny always brings up Destiny guns in a weapons/gun thread. Same here in /tg/

I appreciate the aesthetics even if the story and execution of the game leave much to be desired.

Sure the designs look pretty, but the whole "blending tech and magic" thing ends up being a clusterfuck narratively and makes for a world that rarely makes sense or feels real.

Star Wars is the exception, not the rule. Besides, if you don't count the videgames and expanded universe stuff, the Force is pretty tame in terms of being "space magic".

Hows that any different from having a world with seemingly readily available magic but eternally locked in a dirt farmer style medieval setting that can't seem to take any logical leaps with the "technology" (read: magic) they have at their disposal with the usual write off being that the magic is so myserious you have an equal chance of shitting a lightning bolt as you do jazz handing and prancing like a potato.

I love the aesthetics of Paragon

Quit shilling!

I'm not going to pretend that science fantasy is innovative or anything because for all intents and purposes it's just another coat of paint. I'm just sick of looking at the standard "ye olden fantasy Europe" because all they can think about is Tolkien and his hatred of modernity because of the Great War
I'll take John Carter of Mars over Lord of the Rings any day of the goddamn week.

Is that Jake Gyllenhaal?

Paragon looks and feels soulless as shit. Warframe had a better aesthetic even after Mynki just started slapping random bullshit everywhere.
