I figure someone will ha e clocked their doc if the doc implied that they should stop being such a slut, but I digress. That's a retarded analogy, because you've conflated not meeting a cultural standard to an illness.
Here's an analogy. You like these things called Chumps. But for reasons, people think liking Chumps is awful, so they all have these things that tell them how many Chumps they have, and if you have too many you're basically the town Chumpdump. And you don't want to be the town fucking Chumpdump, so you get one too. Sure, the thing only tells you how many Chumps you had, and that's a fact. But you still want to be comfortable having Chumps, and that thing is basically a reminder that you're a Chumpdump. So one day, you're fed up, and you say that being called a Chumpdump is stupid, so you toss the thing out. Sure, it's only giving you "objective info", but it's also the basis by which other people can call you a Chumpdump. So you want people to get over this whole Chumpdump thing, and you're going to start by not being ashamed to have to count your Chumps.

Don't give me that, obviously you don't really think of it as a health problem, you just use that as good cover. >>49257155
Outside of risky hobbies, which is a vague term, and "red meat eaters" (what does that even mean? Only undercooked or copius amounts of red meat is bad for your health). I absolutely give everyone else that level of scorn.
Helmets are there for a reason and if you crack your head open you become a burden on the healthcare system.
Smoking is blatantly bad for you and everyone around you and should never be encouraged.
Seatbelts take a second to put on and if you end up getting seriously injured because you were too stupid to wear one you put an unnecessary burden on our healthcare system.
"Social drinkers" are most likely alcoholics and need treatment. Excessive drinking leads to various societal ills and should be something you look down on.
>>49257155
>smokers,
fuck em, unless they smoke so rarely I don't notice
>red meat eaters,
Shouldn't be an everyday meal. If you're poorer then getting some red meat in your diet is likely to be more beneficial to you in the long term than not, so eat up.
>people who like risky hobbies
Usually can cover for themselves. Besides, it's fun.
>so-called 'social drinkers',
The effects of social drinking can get you socially adapted and thus is marginally worth the health hazard of liver damage. If the person is a barely functional alcoholic, then it's not worth it.
>not wearing a helmet while biking,
terminal stupidity
>not wearing a seatbelt
terminal stupidity
Being fat has about 2 benefits, that's keeping warmer at winter and attracting fat fetishists. That's not worth the crippling later life complications which also smoking brings and not using easily equippable safety gear on transportation.
Red meat? That's goddamn nutrients. Social drinking? Social benefits. There are downsides, but there are upsides that are much more easily understood compared to chugging tar into your lungs or being so fat you can't exit your own goddamn fire escape.

I think it's more that those people have probably had a load of mental issues, of which weight might only be one thing, and they're smashing their weights so they can stop their anxiety, rather than deny their weight. It could be symbolically freeing themselves from something that has been controlling their entire life. I've seen vulnerable people fuck themselves up over less.
Some women (and men) are legit just a round shape, and don't change shape no matter what they eat. >>49262011
>Its existence depends entirely on the will and ability to enforce it.
The existence of a right doesn't depend on the ability to enforce it.
It depends solely on the existence and societal awareness of moraity and good virtues.
You are wrong if you think that the right and the abilty to enforce it are inseparable.
>>49262031
>The existence of a right doesn't depend on the ability to enforce it.
If it's not enforced, it may as well not exist.
If people don't believe it exists, it may as well not exist.
It's existence is entirely contingent on whether or not people want it to exist, and are willing to use force to ensure its existence.
>It depends solely on the existence and societal awareness of moraity and good virtues.
Morality and good virtues are utterly subjective and depend upon the relative values of the society or individual in question.
>You are wrong if you think that the right and the abilty to enforce it are inseparable.
You are wrong if you think that they aren't.
If every 99 out of 100 people tomorrow decided that they didn't want the freedom of speech, and the remaining 1 percent had no way to enforce their own freedom of speech, then freedom of speech may as well no longer be a right.
Rights are literally a social construct.

>>49261448

>>49262181
From a basic philosophical and ethical standpoint, no. The existence or non-existence of a thing is the core of understanding. Whether or not a right exists is a question entirely independent of such questions as, "Is anyone exercising this right? What is the morally correct way to exercise this right? Are we capable of depriving someone of this right, and under what circumstances would it be morally good to do so?"
>>49261061
>>49262313

>>49262269

As a Nazi who follows in the footsteps of the Fuhrer, I am an adamant vegetarian, I despise smoking, I discourage hunting and other cruel sports, I believe drink is for fools, I always advocate proper safety procedures for those undertaking physical activities, and I definitely believe in following all safety regulations, especially around artillery pieces.
Additionally however, I will say this: When I tell a smoker that smoking will kill him, he tells me to blow it out my ass because he values the pleasure of smoking more than he values an extra twenty years of being alive. When an alcoholic tells me "who wants to live to 80 anyway?" when I tell him about the dangers of a scarified liver, he does not make excuses like "alcohol doesn't really kill you."
If a fat person responds to me this way, I will shrug and move on. At least they know the risks and are doing what they want despite them. But when a fat person responds to me that I am shaming them because they do not live up to my standards of beauty, you must understand that this instills in me a degree of irritation. I do not tell smokers that their addiction is offensive because it doesn't meet my lofty standards of olifactory finery, nor do I tell the crack addict that his habit is offensive because his burned lips remind me too much of a child who has gone down the ski slope without his chapstick. No, I tell them these things because they are committing gradual suicide in front of me and I am worried about them.
If someone throws a tomato at a fat person they have never met, that is one thing, but to tell a friend or a family member that their weight is unhealthy is not an act of oppression.

True. Just because something can bite the shit out of you and kill you doesn't mean it will always do as much. I've seen rattlesnakes that, even when poked and prodded (with long poles of course) don't rattle so much as just slither away. Could be it's in cold water and isn't up to speed on mounting a defense, is handled gently enough so as to not be afraid, or is genuinely curious as to the situation it's in.
Of course, just because something might not bite all the time doesn't mean it shouldn't be treated as if it isn't going to be biting 100% of the time, especially with the likes of a Blue Ringed Octopus or a cone snail.

Generally the danger passes after a few hours. Typical causes end in complete recovery if they can get through 24 hours. Of course, the danger is huge as it's complete paralysis that sets in pretty quickly. Rescue breathing nonstop can keep the person alive until they can get a ventilator bag or machine to breathe for them, so long as they don't suffer heart failure as well.

No, he meant the forces that can defeat farmers with were still in use then, and without violating international law left, right, and centre to boot.
