Is there any efficient, functioning society in wh40k solely devoted to pursuing pleasure? The Laer would be exactly what I'm looking for, literal perfection, but they were exterminated (fucking Fulgrim). The other Slaanesh-related factions are incredibly dysfunctional and shitty. Deldar kill more of each other then of their foes, and Emperor's Children constantly randomly mutate and have difficulty replenishing ranks.
Hey buddy, Commorragh isn't that bad so long as you're not an Archon. Just stick to your Kabal territory and your as good as gold, give or take a hellion raid or two.at least it's not Detroit

Holy fuck I would totally play these snake dudes as a faction
>>49221307
What is the Ragged Helix?
>but there are pirates there
conflict is a constant in 40k, there's also a magic space rock containing a pleasure palace and casino which nobody dares interrupt the peace in, as well as the internals of Pirate fiefs where Slaanesh is the day-to-day.

Those guys looking fucking cool.

You can still have Sslyths in your Dark Eldar army. They are the surviving Laer.
>>49222209
Yeah, I know. If they hadn't been exterminated, I would play them. They are both based and look rad.
>>49222333
So what was their thing, what made them cool?
>>49222108
Kek. Eh, I'll probably play Deldar as an insane Haemonculus (redundant, I know) obsessed with building a perfect society consisting of perfect Dark Eldar (genetically modified to be suited for their role and brainwashed for complete compliance to the social order) somewhere off the capital planet. The lack of inter-societal murder will have to be offset by sadism towards their slaves, justifying the need for constant raids. I think this could work as a solution. Thoughts? The twisted utopia trope was always a favourite of mine.

>Fully devoted to perfection, art and pleasure
>Everything built on extremely beautiful, floating coral reefs, mirroring the previous point
>Incredibley efficient, as every member of the species was genetically modified to be perfectly suited for their role and habitat (some were given gills, and lived under water, some were given wings and thus inhabited the skies, snipers had a mechanical eye allowing for breathtaking accuracy...)
>Nearly won against a whole legion of Space Marines despite living on just one planet
>Not becoming a debauched hell-hole despite worshipping a Slaaneshi artifact
They were honestly pretty based.

40K is local. Things vary from system to system. What you are looking for is this:

Go for it! Don't forget, as abusible as these rules are, out and out murder is technically illegal in Commorragh-- at least within the Kabals (tho there are many ways to subvert this). Even Kabal gang warfare is highly regimented and regulated. Still tho that totally fits with the Dark Eldar styling.

Thanks! I was afraid that it might be uncharacteristic of Dark Eldar.

>They are the surviving Laer.
Source?
The Sslyth Lore makes no mention of the Laer.
