When someone talks about iconic artwork in Magic, what are some of the most prominent cards that you think of?
Dunno generally, but when I think of MtG artwork, stuff like this pops up:
>Copper-leaf angel
>Alpha Dark Ritual
>Susan van Camp's Hymn to Tourach
>Greg Staple's (hue) Serra Angel
>All of Rebecca Guay's artwork
>Mirage lands

I think the art in OPs card selection are remembered more so because the card's effect is iconic and/or somewhat broken and happens to have good art to accompany it.
They are not necessarily iconic because the art is good.

>All of Rebecca Guay's artwork
You're absolutely fucking right! Her artwork is fantastic.
Serra Angel
Time Elemental
Psychic Vortex
Form of the Dragon
Swat
Killer Bees
Blanket of Night
Phyrexian Dreadnought
Stasis
Phyrexian Plaguelord

Art like Necropotence is pretty evocative, even if it doesn't necessarily relate to how the card works or anything.
For me?

At least Mind-Sculptor didn't end up with art like this.

Well, that isn't quite what I meant to post but it does make for a funny mental image.
