What are some good settings that glorify war?
Alternatively, how would you go about making a setting that glorifies war?
Warhammer and Khorne. Literally.
That dude lives for that shit.

Yeah, but both Warhammer settings are intentionally dark and depressing. Largely because there's so much war. It's meant to make war look absolutely abysmal.

Man, you took the words out of my mouth.
Though, a setting khorne would make if he played tabletop might be what I want.
The best I can think of is to try and copy the tone of Team Fortress 2. The promotional videos and style, not the hat simulator memes.
Arguably Lord of the Rings. Sure, it's usually the forces of evil that start wars, but there's plenty of scenes for the heroes to stand gloriously on top of a pile of dead orcs as the sun rises behind them, while the Rohirrim Army Choir sings songs of triumph to the winds.
Star Wars also potentially works, though that's usually less glorifying war and more glorifying terrorism.

>terrorism
All I saw in the movies was open warfare against military targets, does that count as terrorism? In that case, is there any war that isn't?
>>49194855
Actually, the whole "Blow up a planet for the sake of spreading fear" is pretty much textbook terrorism, but I can't say it was glorified.

Even assuming the Rebellion was a legitimate cause (which it wasn't), they're shown to be openly supporting a paramilitary organization attempting to destabilize a foreign regime in Episode VII.
Not to mention the assassination attempts and destruction of peaceful Trade Federation superfreighters by the clandestine 'Jedi Council'.
Star Wars.

Early medieval. A peasant could capture an enemy lord and become rich off the ransom. Great soldiers were heroes, and men fought and died for God and for king because it was their duty. Battles were bloody, but the objective was to break the enemy and make them flee, rather than kill them all. Less than 10% of the army would end up as casualties.
In the modern era, firepower made battles much more deadly and impersonal. Even a great soldier could be killee by just any stray shrapnel or bullet.

Done.

He's calling the Rebels terrorists, not the Empire.
