I can't figure out how to fluff some battles in 40k.
Give me a reason for: Deathwatch vs Chaos
Deathwatch vs Imperials
Grey Knights vs Grey Knights
Eldar vs Eldar
Harlequins vs Eldar
Harlequins vs Harlequins
Tau vs Tau
Why the fuck would they fight?
>>49185292
>Deathwatch vs Chaos
Daemons classified as xenos.
>Deathwatch vs Imperials
Imperials who are xeno-lovers. Keep in mind that they are under the command of the Inquisition, who knows for what reason they might use them against other factions inside the Imperium.
>Grey Knights vs Grey Knights
Wild accusations about heresy going out of hand.
>Eldar vs Eldar
Different perspectives on how to do things. Also CWE vs DE vs Exodites.
>Harlequins vs Eldar
Different religious perspectives.
>Harlequins vs Harlequins
This is called a dance-off.
>Tau vs Tau
Google Commander Farsight.
>>49185292
>Deathwatch vs Chaos
Daemonic incursion happened on scene during op.
The target alien was possessed
>Deathwatch vs. Imperials
Alien infestation or mind control requiring a full scale purge
>Grey Knights v. Grey Knights
A hard one... Duped byvTzeentchian illusion...?
>Eldar vs. Eldar
DE and Craftworlders hate each other. Two craftworlds fight because of conflicting farseeing indicating one side is about to ruin everything for everyone
Next two got me.
>Tau v. Tau
Farsight or a farsight like oc
>>49185292
>Deathwatch vs Chaos
Daemons attack a Watch Fortress.
Alien sorcerer summons daemons.
Death Watch accidentally unleash daemons while on a mission.
>Deathwatch vs Imperials
The Imperials are xenos sympathisers.
The Imperials have been corrupted or vise versa.
>Grey Knights vs Grey Knights
Training exercise.
One force is a twisted mirror version spawned by Daemon magic.
>Eldar vs Eldar
Craftworlds are pissed at each other.
Different Farseers have different plans in motion and must dispose of the other Eldar to see them come to fruition.
>Harlequins vs Eldar
>Harlequins vs Harlequins
Same as before, substitute Farseers for Shadowseers or Cegorach.
>Tau vs Tau
Farsight Suppoters vs Empire Loyalists.
Some Tau have been corrupted by alien spores.

>>49185498
Farsight has his own rules, I said Tau.
>>49185800
The first group of Tau discover something they shouldn't.
The second group is sent by the Ethereal council to mop up.
I got an impossible one.
LotD vs LotD
LotD vs Grey Knights
>>49185292
>Deathwatch vs Imperials
one of my favorite white dwarf articles ends with a Skitarii expedition getting wasted by the Deathwatch after they landed on the wrong planet
>>49185876
>LotD vs LotD
This is actually easy since the Legion of the Damned is vague as shit.
>LotD vs Grey Knights
Grey Knights hear of the legend and decide daemonic powers must be at work, they intercept them the next time they appear via prognostication.
>>49185498
>dance-off
My sides have left the imperium and sworn themselves to a chaos god
>>49185867
My Tau Sept is fluffed as modern day Russia, IE poor as fuck, using second hand equipment from previous expansions, usually smoking/drinking and barely operating within the guidelines of the greater good.
During joint operations they certainly have been known to fire upon their own forces
>>49185292
In Deathwatch RPG, you may happen to operate at the front against Chaos, possibly getting involved with the Crusade against it.
Also, DW vs. Imperials is easy: Watch Commander refused to obey douchebag Ordo Xenos Inquisitor.
>>49185292
Most of those could be fluffed as a training exercise. Or an honor duel. Assuming there's a difference.
>>49187266
And why do the Ethereals allow that?
