Infinity is a 28mm scale futuristic skirmish game by Corvus Belli which everyone plays for it's tight, supple rules.

Have there been any haqqislamites mentioned for the comic? Seems there's a rep for every faction but them.

No split burst in ARO I thought. You shoot one mofo only

They only generate one ARO so you don't get the 2 separate sets of FtF rolls but that that apply to say a Total Reaction Bot?

So Infinity gen how viable would a all motocycle and jump pack list be? Also Would it be fun to play?
>>
>>49157641
It wouldn't be particularly viable, especially not with the inversatile Kum. Mostly bike lists can work, my local JSA player has done some of those. It's not a good idea to ever take more than 3 drop troops.
>>
>>49157641
You'll get fucked in ITS but I know an Aussie that runs all Kum Bikers in a list for fun

>all jumpers
No, bad idea
The thing of this guys is that they provide upfront support/enemy campsweeper/uphander for the other units. Also they supposed to drop in later, so you'll be either fucked in your orders pool or in skill being wasted.

>>49157762
>>49157987
Ah that's too bad since i liked the way the bikers looked. As for the jump troops is it worth it to take the hacker variation or should i just go vanilla/spitfire
>>
>>49158013
Depends on what do you plan on doing with them.
Both Hacker and Spitfire or Shotgun variants are good, you could even drop both with a coordinated order. They will just do different things.
I usually go with a Shotgun: cheap, disposable, yet devastating; but then I play Nomads and for Objective grabbing I have Tomcats.
>>
Anyone familiar with MCStudio Hobby? https://youtu.be/QtBCecHG9fw?t=677

$106 for a full 4x4 board seems extremely legit.

I haven't seen them in person yet, but friends have bought/used/played with the stuff and can rep the company.

I'm not a huge fan of that style of building, though. All MDF/card terrain has those weird protruding corners.
>>
>>49158013
Shotguns for murdering clumps of dudes and dying in a blaze of glory. Spitfire for general rambo activities. Rifles for suppressive fire in inconvenient locations. Hackers can do what rifles do as well as specialist work and assault hacking.

Anyone else sick of the forced ALIVE hype train? Sure some people are still on board, I'm starting to not give a fuck anymore tho, all this secrecy thing is just retarded. Hype must be nurtured with small doses of content, but here we are just being starved.
The longer they keep this farce up, the harder the players are gonna be disappointed.

>inb4 CB built a hype train on nothing and are just buying time scrambling for an idea to match the ever-increasing expectations.
>>
>>49158097
Pretty good deal for a full table, but I'm not a fan of the building designs or ladders.

>>49161654

>>
>>49161654
It's just not very well done. That said, it's best to expect nothing of stuff like this because that's usually what they end up being, and if they turn out to be great you get to be pleasantly surprised.

You realise it's only called a manga so the weebs will pick it up, right? It's written by a Spaniard and illustrated by a different Spaniard.

>>49162267
Does anybody know who the fuck the unnamed guy is? It looks like an alternative design of Knauf, but they wouldn't show that off in a team lineup.
>>
>>49162324
Could have called it a graphic novel and it still would have sold like hot cakes.
But they call it a manga because of the art style, which in Infinity is already very close to what Manga usually looks like, not to sell it to weebs.

Looks like an alternate design to Knauf. No info on him was given and he's not in the posted pages.
Is Stallion-Jack S6 or S7? I can't tell.
>>
>>49162360
There's quite a few weebs who would never touch a graphic novel, and most anti-weebs who would never touch a manga don't buy Infinity stuff anyway.
The art style is definitely influenced by Japanese work but it's not that close to generic manga. It reminds me of some other old manga-inspired comics, or conversely some western-inspired/more realistic manga.

>>49162393
It's apparently Anaconda-based, so probably S7.

>>
>>49163556
I don't think everyone wants a patch.
Myself I'd prefer a sticker to patch. I could put a sticker to an army box or case, but I've nothing to sew the patch onto.
I guess if I was using an army bag then maybe, but I just use a regular travel bag instead.
>>
>>49163630
Hmm, true. I have a love for patches anyway, I have far too many from other fictional places, and nowhere to put them.
Imagine if we got a patch and a sticker in every unit box... Man, that'd be sweet.
>>
>>49163702
I'd rather have a transfer sheet for the logos. Especially for HI. Cross of Jerusalem is easy enough to paint, but Montesa cross or ORC logo? Jeez.
At least now some of the units have their logos engraved, but I'm not sure if that is so great.
>>
>>49163741
I don't think Infinity lends itself well to transfers. Most of the panels where they'd be applied are far too curved to fit them correctly.
>>
>>49163741
>>49163793
Also the engraved logos are best, as they can be filled in easily if you don't want them.
>>
>>49163793
Dunno, at least on PanO HI there's larger, flatter pauldrons. And there's no problem to get transfers on TAGs.

>>49163798
I guess. I've yet to paint any of my minis with engraved logos though.
>>
>>49163793
>>49163894
There are ways to get transfers to behave around curved surfaces, but it's a little more work than just applying the transfers.
Microscale MicroSol and MicroSet are your friends if you're working on oddly shaped surfaces with transfers.

DESU REMs, Ghazi, Ghulams and then whatever you feel like from there.

If you like the look and feel of the HI try the new Al Fasid that is coming out with Red Veil.

If you like the strong MI that Haqq has to offer, take a Djanbazan to couple with the Smoke from your Ghazi or a Ragik for some scary AD potential.

The Skirmishers flavored to taste as well. The Minelayer Farzan is becoming a favorite for me, but Hunzaqt is top notch for cheap infiltration and wetwork. The Tuareg is not something to be written off either.

LI is something Haqq does very well, though lately everything has been pretty good for them. With the new HI additions in the form of the redone Al Fasid and the new Ayyar.

If you could get someone to split the cost of Red Veil and you got the Haqq portion that would be a solid start. If you know who Cho is (he splits boxes) you can get him to give you just 2 Ghazi, and a few other odds and ends to keep it on the cheaper side when building your force if you only need certain items from the boxes.

Having said that, I always recommend the REMs. Kameels or the Shihab/Rafiq.

At the end of the day it's what you like the look of and how you want to play. Also, I will not even get into Fidays that dirty girl is an army on her own.

No, there's plenty that doesn't. These buildings have it because they are designed to be able to assemble without glue and then pull them apart to flat-pack them. Extending the wall past the corner join is a good way to get stability for that sort of design.

FOR THE GLORY OF ARIADNA

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCnn7WEQIDI
>>
So first time ever with a wargame ever. Been trying to decide between ALEPH or Tohaa. I like equally both. Is one harder than the other to learn or can I just jump in on either and still have the same learning curve? Or am I better off with starting with a different faction to learn the game better with?
>>
>>49177449
Tohaa focuses on the Fireteam rules (specifically Triad) which early on can cause some headaches as you start. Of course I'm the kind of guy who will put his nose to the grindstone to learn. Though once you remember to move more than one guy in a team and what the benefits are you'll fall in love with fireteams. Also some unique rules and some units that other factions would kill their grandma for.

I'm not all that knowledgeable on ALEPH sadly. Other than Ekdromois keep wrecking my shit.
>>
>>49177449
Both have a number of of special rules that are pretty core for how they play.

Outside of the Ghost Jumper through, ALEPH is the more conventional of the two forces. Be ready to pay for the quality of your troops due to all those higher stats and Dogged/NWI floating around. In the case of the latter you'll have to make sure you make the most of it otherwise it's points wasted. Watch for shock and viral though.

That said, there will be a big jump from either of those factions to another. Tohaa and ALEPH tend to bring noticeably more durable forces than other troops, allowing for more aggressive tactics. It can blind you to alternate tactics that other factions use.
>>
>>49176424
I am ready for my glorious fireteam core of veteran Kazaks. 200 points of goodness.
>>
>>49176424

Not a huge lot of difference from vanilla if the typical core team used is just a bunch of lines anyway.

New to the game, but have surprisingly decent amount of friends interested as well. I've had the old Haqq starter for about 2 years now, along with an extra HMG Ghulam and Light Flamethrower Nafftun? I've yet to play a solid game without much interruption due to lack of rules, but am slowly getting the hang of it. What's hard for me to grasp, coming from other wargames with much more limited unit restrictions, is what is a general progression for growing my faction.

tl;dr, Have old Haqq Starter, what should I buy next?
>>

Sadly, not yet.
You'd think that Nomads and Ariadnans would be much happier to work with a Haqqislamite troop than a PanO or YuJing one.

I have to assume that there will be a Haqq character; simply because it would be very strange for them to be the only human faction that is excluded.
>>
>>49178501
>Not a huge lot of difference from vanilla if the typical core team used is just a bunch of lines anyway.

Seriously, being able to put 3 BS14 B2 ARO snipers on the board that are immune to surprise shot and smoke + MSV for 66 points and 1.5 SWC isn't a big difference?

having that strong reactive piece cheaply while providing 5 orders for fueling a spetsnaz is a huge difference IMO.

New player from other thread asking about Morats. Been tinkering with it and was thinking whether this variation would be better?

Basically the only change here is in the previous version there was a second Intern Worm and a Vanguard Hacker + a Sniffer Drone instead of the Yaogat. I figured I still had enough Orders to get shit done but with the vanguard I'd have a squishy hacker who would drop from a slight breeze. I know ARM3 probably isn't much better but I could find the points for the upgrade so I thought why not.
>>
>>49179825
>Yaogat hacker
Don't do that. Brittle hackers are okay, they shouldn't be in situations where people are shooting them anyway. It's also a huge waste of the Yaogat's MSV2, you'll want a sniper or spitfire on him if you're taking one. For non-assault hackers just take a Vanguard or E-Drone.

2 nursebots can be useful but there's a decent chance it will go to waste, and R-Drones are great for their price. Flash pulse AROs all day ery day.

/infg/, I've got a bit of a dilemma to solve.
There's a funny tournament soon in my FLGS: 300pts, Spec Ops, all Mercs available (according to Army Buildeer AVAs) *but* only single combat group lists allowed.

Now, I play Corregidor and PanO and I can't choose between living the dream of a Gecko TAG Team + Wildcats shenanigans (and I've found no place for Mercs or Spec Ops in this), since there's no threat of kurwa, or do some kind of evil NT Aquilla + Smoke or MO Joan + Mercs (or both in vanilla) PanO list.

It kind of determines what do I paint next.

>>
>>49205493

Hospitaller is better than Santiago for linked team.
>>
>>49205493
I just chose them because I like their look more, that and the e/m grenades, nanopulser as well as the magisters already having long range covered.
>>
I miss the old time when Aquila had EM lgl
>>
>>49205493
Spitfire isn't necessarily a downgrade. I tend not to link Hospitaller docs and HMGs together because their preferred ranges are completely different, while Santiagos can work as a pure midfield force with a bunch of short range weapons and flanking protection.
>>
>>49205643
It's sort of a shame. Those Aquila and Hsien loadouts would be really interesting now, but in N2 the HMG was the objectively correct decision for almost every situation so I never saw them used.

Why is choosing a faction in this game so fucking frustrating? I just want nice models and the least amount of proxies possible but CB keeps fucking me over.

>this Invincible Army seems neat
Lel not happening for at least another year, enjoy only 2 sculpts of the most essential unit in the army

>uh ok, let's see this Imperial Service thing
No zhanying in sight, butt ugly CG swc-box and Kuang Shi, missing key models across the line, forced to buy red veil for a non-potato Hsien

>hmm let's leave YJ then...man that GitS vibe of Vedic ALEPH sure is tasty
Don't want to gobble up the Steel Phallus? Enjoy buying models that will get totally resculpted next year!

>ok fuck the human sphere man, let's go for those fancy elvish artichokes
Please enjoy your stay in the most comically forgotten faction of the whole game, we have units that haven't got a single model and crucial profiles with only 2 models too! And we boast like 5 releases per year to boot!

And there are other factions and sectorials in a much worse shape. Guys don't get me wrong I love this game, I really do, but I wish it didn't trigger my sleeping autism so hard. I just want to have a complete army of nice minis...
>>
>>49206713
Looks solid. 3 AD is a lot but you have a good amount of orders so it could work. Might struggle against a TAG or HI link with not a lot of high quality hacking/armor cracking.

I prefer codes to text army lists. They clutter up forums and are obnoxious.

What missions were you going for if any?
>>
>>49206797
Well mate, the company is small and release 5-10 models a month. Across 8 factions that is spread pretty thin. In addition they are trying to re-sculpt everything to high quality.

Either:

-Proxy.
-Buy lower quality sculpts.
-Play a Vanilla faction and only play with new models.
>>

>>49206797
Try vanilla. CB isn't a big company so they can't afford to release that many models quickly.

And honestly apart from the HSN3 stuff Tohaa don't seem to be missing much. They need another Clipsos and Sakiel, but everything else has a respectable number of sculpts.

Okay, then you've got Wildcat engis, which work well in links and are shit otherwise, and Daks/Clockmakers, which are cheap but can't defend themselves well.

Forcing yourself to bring a doctor and an engineer to every game isn't vital, and thinking like that can gimp your lists in some situations. If you're not bringing many remotes or big units then an engi will be of limited usefulness anyway.

Right, which is why I have both in the list. They don't however now up buildings or break my dudes so I don't think replacing my Docs/Engies with them is a good idea. If you think it is I guess I can give it a try but I feel like I'm just going to fuck up my classifieds.

The moment I drop the engie I'm going to play against a stupid Haqqi Muttawiah spam list or only pull Engie classifieds, I know it

Pray to the Nomad Anti-Pope that you never face a true TAG; you've got no DA or EXP ammo outside of one Panzerfaust and the Intruder, and your heavy weapons are on LI.

Aside from that, looks good.
>>
>>49209569
Any suggestions? Nomad heavy infantry is pretty terrible and hacking is laughably useless against most tags. Any ideas would be appreciated

>>49209509

>>
>>49209735
>hacking is laughably useless against most tags

Wut? Only problem in TAG hacking is that most heavy TAGs prefer to keep their distance to better utilize their big guns/keeping healthy distance between themselves and hackers/suicidal warbands (honestly, effectively lost more TAGs to CC than hacking, hacking is more to a deterrent, a zone of no-go)
>>
>>49209829
Really high BTS and the correct hacker support makes hacking tags super hard. I've been playing for about a year and I've been able to successfully hack anything, offensively or defensively and neither has anyone else in my meta.

I keep hackers in my list pretty much just to push buttons and for classifieds. They're useless otherwise
>>
>>49210008
What hacker support? Fairydust only works on HI.

Isolating, Expelling or Possessing a TAG is awesome.
>>
>>49210038
Especially in ARO
>>
>>49210008
It's nice to have the ARO there, especially if you have repeaters scattered about.

Sure, that Jotum is more willing to risk it, but I've deterred people's lighter TAGs (also HIs) with a well placed pitcher and an Assault Hacker on the list.

Just be aware of the rule that lets your opponent fuck your girlfriend afterwards if you field a Fiday.
>>
Does anyone have that artwork from the RPG of Yojimbo?
>>
>>49210008

at first, blow up their hackers head with KHD.
secondly, claim opponent's TAG to your own with AHD.
>>
>>49210053
Yeah, no one here gives a fuck. The only issues you have to worry about with a tag of remote are aros from models with six like HRL. Even then, tags are tough and LI sucks more often than not.

As an example I watched a game where a remote happily coasted through multiple hacker aros and suffer zero consequences over multiple orders. Scenario was the one where they're aye multiple friendly repeaters on the table so it was triggering aros from multiple hackers each time it did something.

It's rampage finally ended after killing five models and losing a F2F with a multisniper. That game was pretty brutal and there was nothing the other player could do
>>
>>49210741

Even simple carbonite cripples remotes badly. are you really putting assault hacking device in?
>>
>>49210970
In that particular game there are two assault hackers and one hacking device plus. Each order triggered two to three aros and they did nothing. The hackers all went with Carbonite
>>
>>49211083

Of course the remote should have declared reset as its 2nd short order, right? counting that most remote has wip13, rarely the remote survives.

sure I'm not saying it's not impossible, d20 definitely makes a miracle sometimes.

Assuming a Jotum, WIP 13, BTS 9, against three WIP 13 Nomad hackers using Carbonite:

The TAG can only reset against one single hacker, meaning one FtF roll and two pass/fail rolls. Carbonite gives +3 to WIP, so that's two attacks with 32% chance to succeed, and one with a 23% chance to succeed. So, every ARO is a 52.1% chance to cause Immobilize.

Then, there's the Reverend Custodier with Icebreaker; which is WIP 14, DMG 12, and reduces the target's BTS to 0 and immobilizes. Two of those gives you over an 80% chance to wreck anything.
>>
>>49214687

What no, reset applies to every hacking attack. It's just like dodge. If you crit dodge, every attack directed at you is a failure.
>>
>>49214738
This is true, but if you are move-resetting every order you are already losing.
>>
>>49206797
I'm the same way. Currently I play SP and vanilla Haqqislam even though I have like 8 armies fully painted, because they are the only armies I'm totally happy with. Even still, Thorakitai still dont have a box and Ekdromoi only needs a hacker mini.

>ISS
Great start with the new sculpt. Still needs CG box and KS

>NCA
The only engineer is the entire faction is fucking awful. Trauma Doc too.

>MO
No good Hospitaller model. Can't get Joan without a $50 book. Seraph and FKs are the only models in scale.

>JSA
An army run by garden gnomes.

>>49214319
I would add Hungries in there too. I like the design, but the miniatures are a pain in the ass. I know that CB has no plans to redo them though
>>
>>49214738

Well, then Move->Reset is a 35% success and Move->Anything Else is 56% success; and that's against BTS 9. A BTS 3 REM is going to get immobilized 44% of the time against a single Zero.

This guy's story of a REM walking through 5+ Carbonites with no ramifications doesn't add up, unless he's forgetting about the +3 to WIP and the DA ammo.

The shoulders and chest makes me want to say it's a Corregidor unit, but her left bracelet and orange coloring makes me think she's from Bakunin. She doesn't have the ribbed look that Zeroes, Nomad Support, Interventors, and Spektres have, but she doesn't have the armour and two bracelets to be an Intruder or an alguacil, even though her shoulders and chest looks like it.
