Yep. Every Saturday afternoon.

Kinda yeah, also those kids weren't normies
>>

Normies is a stretch. There was a bigger board game culture then before computers. It essentially grew out of that.
>>
>>48922095
>those kids
>normies
>>
>>48922095
This is purely anecdotal, but many, many people I've spoken to would say "oh, I played that a couple times", or "my brother was into that, so I played in middle school--by high school I was more interested in partying".
>>
>>48922095
They were normies?
Perhaps the problem is not with the portrayal, perhaps the problem is with you.
Perhaps you're so fucked up that everyone else looks like a normie to you.

>pale dork
>overbite with lisp
>scrawny with single mom
>suburban black (whose parents never appear in-shot)
Normies they ain't.

pretty normal
>>
>>48922095
I play every week. What's the norm?
>>
>>48922363
hint: you can't tell a normie by looking.

they are nerds, but back then, nerds dressed like everyone else did.
>>
>>48922095

Back then TSR sold millions of Red Box Basic sets at places like Toys'R'Us and department stores. It was a big fad for a couple of years, and parents were buying it for their kids.
I don't remember there being a stigma of "those D&D nerds" for another five years or so, until 1987 or thereabouts.
>>
>>48922095
>normies
Those kids have some really solid nerd-cred for their age, and are literally bullied in school.

I don't even want to know what it takes to be a non-normie in your eyes.
>>
>>48922095
video games were shitty and expensive and nerds still could read.
>>

Not him, but a normie is anyone more socially successful than you. Also anyone less socially successful than you is a basement-dwelling virgin.
