Eh? It's an okay story but as far as otiginality goes, stand offs and fuck ups are quite common.

In the monster infested darkness that is the Discord that exists between the last few safe realms of the world, the only places to rest safely are in ancient standing stone circles left over by some previous ancient race. The warped, once human monsters of the Discord either can't or won't approach the stones, and some of the larger stone circles have buildings or permanent camps set up within them as wayposts in the darkness.

Beware, however, any circle of standing stone that is a garden. You can stay there, but not overlong, because these sacred glades are said to still be protected by guardians who have watched over them since their creation. It is the power of these Bramble Knights that keep the monsters away from the stones in the first place, even though most stone rings have been long abandoned by them. The guardians are of alien mind and strange power, and do not take desecration of their glades lightly. At best they will flay you with whips of thorns, at worst you will become a permanent fixture in their garden.

There are no birds in the discord, not even in the stone circles. If you hear what you think to be birdsong, this is a bramble knight issuing challenge. The words themselves may not be understood, but take them for the warning they are.

Fear the dark, of course. But fear the Thorn too.

I like the name

I modified Star Wars d6 system into a functional X-Com system and turned It into a weird mix of EDF and Metal Slug

The Inquisitor my players work for is an ex-Rogue trader who somehow managed to wrangle an Inquisitorial position. He's only sending them on missions to keep the other Inquisitors from investigating his xenos artifact smuggling business. He's done this so much that the current Acolytes are the fourth team he's sent planetside, with some now acting as long term infiltrators in positions in society, awaiting further instructions from the Inquisitor which will never arrive.
