Each nation of animal-eared people has its own element of magic that they worship.
Wars are for real-real because Balkoth is a dick.
There's a lot more tension between nations as a result. In addition, each nation has a "rival" that they just won't get along with without serious peace-making involved.

...at least, that's how it'd go if the settings melded. As a transplant, it's just the main cast getting summoned as hero/commander units of their element. Which isn't bad, but it's a bit meh. I mean, it could be interesting if they were all summoned to different nations and had to try to make peace between all of them somehow... actually, that's pretty good. Political cloak-and-dagger campaign. Fight wars on the surface with real consequences while trying to manipulate events for the best.

Jesus Christ I don't even know. Momonga & co. are now maybe not actually top dogs in the setting, because they have to contend with fucking TENNO, who are effectively unkillable as long as they can fight remotely (and because of crazy Void magic/Transference shenanigans, they basically always can fight remotely - at least, for now. We'll see what the next update brings). You can destroy a Warframe, but its Tenno pilot is basically unaffected since they're in an orbiter far up in space.

That, or Momon & co. *are* Tenno too, now. That can't bode well for anyone, because the Tenno were scary enough, now they have access to DND-tier magic.

As for the campaign itself... I mean, it's probably just gonna be Overlord again, except in a far future space setting instead of generic medieval european fantasyland.

You know, I've kicked around the idea of a magical girl setting where the characters were for hire mercenaries of some variety, but I can't for the life of me think of a decent way to frame it without it running clear into edge master territory. I'd by and far would rather scale it like 4 and FA, as the Collared/League system actually worked in a way that acknowledged the ludicrous nature of individuals capable of wiping out armies. Could refluff Giant Guardian Generation for it. But getting players to unite under a unified tone is hard enough as is, and every player always wants to be that one boy in a magical girl setting, which defeats the point in the fucking first place.
