Terraforming.
They're very interested in any remote location, like coasts or mountain.
When they get there, they drive everyone out, but don't really do a lot of damage or killing.
No one's sure exactly what they're doing, as they just sorta seem to be hanging out, but it's fucking up the ecosystem somethin' fierce.
