Would you serve a species that was better than you genetically, I'm not talking /pol/, but I mean in a scenario with like aliens, that are so far advanced than us they make our civilization and level of sentience look like a joke in comparison
Depends on the kind of service. If it's like being an uplifted dog where I get to go for interstellar-tourism-walkies and the aliens will provide me with food, housing, entertainment and healthcare, sign me up.

You mean like we'd be to them as horses are to us?
>>48622157
it could be for anything they want depending on what they need, you can either be glorious and fight back or accept it.
>>48622118
It really depends on whether they care enough to assure us that they aren't INCREDIBLY SINISTER.
I mean, I'm fine with working in a grey assembly line for a while, but are they going to let me have my computer and porn? How's the sick leave? What's the health care plan like? Do I get to live in my own building, or am I to live in an apartment or barracks? Is the food bland 100% nutrition blocks, or carefully recreated dishes?
Depends on how cute this hypothetical species is.
Serve how?? The question is so vague it could mean everything from mutually beneficial trade to slavery and medical experiments.
>>48622118
When you say "serve" what do you mean?
Why the hell would anyone want to be a slave?
>>48622253
let us say that the hypothetical species is a bunch of smart bees like in the op pic
what could they possibly want if they are THAT far advanced of us?
the only explanation is they're just advanced enough to indoctrinate a race, but not advanced enough to retrofit their entire species to breathe various atmospheres, and such get folk like us to use the unbreathable ones.
even then, why not use robots?

The only logical thing I can think of is for sport or pleasure.
We would be shitty at everything else.
So we'd be pets. Bred for sporting events or kept as companions. Or we are biologically unique or pretty in some way and they want to keep us around to look at.
Or zoos man. Alien zoos
>>48622796
see, you don't need the WHOLE SPECIES for that though.
The most lazy thing to do would be to just take whichever of us they like the most.
>>48622118
What sort of service are we talking? Will we be redistributed across the galaxy for a myriad of tasks? What will the benefits be, will we be uplifted? Are we just going to be used as hard labor?

>>48622118
The whole idea of "better" is so vague that there is no way to answer this question.
>>48622848
It's the hip thing to do.
>>48622118
To serve is a 2 way agreement and sure. I already "serve" asshole humans all night.
As long as the terms are right, sure, I'd be employed by aliens.
>>48622118
I had the pleasure of working with both junkies and children, although not at the same time.
Compared to that, working for alien astronauts sounds like easy money.
>>48622845
No they don't. The whole premise of this thread is a fart
>>48622118
And I for one welcome our new insect overlords.
>>48622989
Why?
>>48623442
"better" is incredibly vague
