Changelog 1.6
> Point Changes
* 120 points base to start
* Can gain up to 30 points from drawbacks to spend on anything. Note that this is down from 40, but it is *not* a nerf, because with the 10 point increase in base points, you can get to the same 150 points with fewer drawbacks.
* Can gain up to an *additional* 30 points in drawbacks (so up to 180 points total), except that these additional 30 points can ONLY be spent on Company, Items and Pocket Dimension purchases. The reason I did it this way is that, frankly, if all you're doing is purchasing things to make yourself into a lonely, living god, then 150 points is plenty to get everything that you really need, along with giving you a hard decision between several things that you *want*. On the other hand, if you also want to bring along family and friends, or empower descendants, then points become stretched *really* thin. So, this is to give you a way to rectify that.

> New Options
* New Minor Gift: "Of Indeterminate Age", a poor man's shapeshifting.
* New Drawback: "Shared World" +20
* New Item: Sanitary Pack
* New Item: Personal Omni-Wear
* Unique Rewards added for all quests part of the main CYOA.

> Alterations
* Allow up to 7 points to be spent on Extended Lifespan for Great Descendants; enough to reach present day from 10,000 BC. More if combined with

'Extended Lifespan' for all descendants.
* Minor Unique Rewards from Quests, but not regular ones, can now be earned past the "time limit". Except for Historian and Technophobe, because that

doesn't make sense for them.
* Removed species restriction on imported companions. They must now either be the same species as you choose, or whatever species they were before you

imported them. Have fun with your... lamias, or whatever.
* Wanderer's Journal reduced to 3 points.

> Clarifications
* Clarified language for Inheritable abilities.
* Rewording of Reflexes & Reaction 2, since bullets travel faster than sound in many cases.

(con't)

1.6 Changelog Continued.
> Pocked Dimension Changes / Clarifications

* All items replicable and self-repairing
* Running Water, Toiletries cheaper.
* Furnishings expanded to include lightning fixtures, and combined with carpeting/wallpaper.
* Pantry & Refrigeration combined, includes cooking equipment
* Running water includes laundry machines if needed
* Luxury Pack is a discounted combo.
* Chrono-Computer elaborated. New "Restricted Information" discount added.

I vaguely remember a cyoa. It had several factions and took place partially in a military base of some sort. Or a wizard school. Shit, I'm not sure. It had demons and cthulhids and maybe necromancers. You had to pick amongst other choices which of those to focus on in your fight when they all started invading. I'm not even sure it was a cyoa. It might have been a dream. Does it ring any bells though?

Oops, wrong changelog in last post.

Version 0.9.2
Changelog 0.9.2
>Magic System. Emphasize: No changes in costs since last version.
* Discounts for your purchase of magic for yourself now spelled out in hard numbers.
* Reworded magic section to remove the use of "level" entirely, because it was needlessly confusing. No actual changes in function from 0.9.1.
* Added (completely optional) extras 'Insanity' and 'Magic-Born' customization options to magic.

>Other
* Under "Soulless", may optionally add magics that return a vampire's soul.
* Added note that if you play as a Piskel, you can automatically breathe water, but can't breathe air unless you get Endurance
* New "Periodic Elementalism" adds fantastical materials to world

Also added more things to the "possible additions" list at the end. If you see something there you would really like to see added, let me know; if more anons express interest in a particular thing, I'm more likely to actually get around to it.

I know what you are talking about.

>>
>>48360106
Had to delete previous response because screwup, but, basically: I don't put my own stuff in the OP, because that seems tacky. For the rest, I suppose I could go "anonymous" to repost it, like I'm sure many other CYOA authors do, but that would seem silly.

Or I could wait until someone else posts it, but then I have to attach the changelog to it via response, which is just confusing because it's still fresh. "Reposting" something I put up for the first time an hour ago due to the change in thread is quite different than continually putting up the same thing of yours over time.

I have no intention, for example, of ever posting this version again myself, because there will be no need to.

>Because one is near-perfect peace among all races, and the other is the brutal destruction of another species while actively preventing them from forming any sort of society; likely to result in a gen/xen-ocide sooner or later. For those wondering.

Heh, point, but it's quite possible to eradicate the demon worshiping ones beneath, and then over the course of several millennia transform into a peaceful and open society.

Their transformation alters their brains in such a way that they latch on to their handler, instinctively trying to become their perfect waifu.
Most normal guys don't have a region of their brain specifically dedicated to mentally puppeting and controlling waifus, but the amount of CYOAs that we have done means that we have a dedicated region of our brain that the chip can link to.

Hey, thanks for all the hard work and thought you've been putting into this CYOA. Since you're asking for suggestions, I wanted to ask about a feature I've been wanting. I was thinking of a relatively cheap option under items that allows you to protect a number of objects (maybe two levels, 99, 999?) from deterioration due to age and minor wear. I don't know about other anons, but I think it would be really cool to be able to collect gear, souvenirs, and trophies through the ages. Without an option like this, even stuff that you store in a steel box under a mountain is going to be falling apart after a few thousand years. Obviously you'd have to set a limit on mass or volume.

Not to bloat the option too much, but you could have an option to store and summon the objects from an extra-dimensional pocket. The summoning could take a minute of concentration if you wanted to limit its strategic usefulness.

Just some ideas I've been kicking around. Feel free to disregard any or all of them.

Items (225, all): Search-Scanner, Enhanced Vision, Object Segregator, Shock Maniple, Datafrag Grenade, Overload Module, Reversal Algorithm, Cycle Accelerator, Mainframe Tunnel

Frankly, with these upgrades the only thing that really has a chance against me is the "boss" The Yellow.

It is more powerful than I, but thanks to Data Anchor, I have ten shots to take it down. I'm going to say I need a 10 on a d10 on one of my rolls.

Present day Earth except;
1. added Urban fantasy elements: the Supernatural is real, excluding anything that could pose a serious risk to me
2. changed my past: my family is wealthy and I live a comfy life.
3. added the existence of a collective consciousness type entity that governs anything that happens in this world and is absolutely and unchangingly designed to enrich my life, obeying any direct request if needed
4. changed the lives of anyone who ever visited 4chan to be happier and more fulfilling, assuring they will all find true love, unless that directly interferes with my personal happiness

I might be THE munchkin but I'll throw you guys a bone.

Enchanting can do that, except for the "cheap" part.
With the minor magic, you can enchant your item to be more durable and slightly self repairing, and refresh the magic when it runs out.
With the major one, enchant a box to repair and protect everything inside.

Acheld, how powerful is minor enchanting anyway? Would it be good enough to turn a butter-knife into a good weapon, or could it just make it lighter and really good at spreading butter?

>>
>>48361703
>>48361718
If you're referring to the drawback that makes you lose a limb that's a "magic decapitation", whatever that means. Basically it's gone forever.

But I think the drawbacks were kind of dumb. I'm remaking all of them so that they're not too harsh and adding more.

As a progress update, the intro page is done and the first page was finished then scrapped. A new magic system is in the works as well, everyone will get magic but it's a tad more limited.
>>
>>48361913
Yeah, please don't. The current cyoa is pretty good so if you're going to start limiting us even more that'd be a complete shit. It's already bad enough that the first update reduced dragons to pitfighters who get bullied by lamias, and lolis who can get cursed by a mere magical girl. It's losing that dragon feel.
>>
>>48361913
I'd rather everyone NOT get magic than be forced into getting limited magic.
>>
>>48361913
Will you be updating Ira so people won't feel like monsters for liking her as she is?
>>
>>48361997
>>48362124
Thanks for the advice. I'm aware of a lot of these problems and trying to make it more of a simple "here are powers, pick some" CYOA like you guys want.

The quests have been removed, but I still feel like magic should be addressed. If anyone has ideas on a better way to implement it please let me know. Or if you guys don't want me to touch it, that's fine too.
>>
>>48362135
Yeah, I messed that up.
>>
>>48361913
>more limited
Please no.

>>48362146
I don't know of anyone asking for it to be more simple, outside of that one guy who keeps complaining about lamias I don't know of anyone who minded the quests EXCEPT the Ira one.

I'd advise you not to touch magic, but if you do want to address it as you say, a compromise would be to, assuming I know your intent, give everyone a 'tad more limited' version of magic just for being half-dragons, then offer as one power selection choice the original magic in the earlier versions of the CYOA. It should make people less inclined to always pick it.
>>
>>48362146
>If anyone has ideas on a better way to implement it please let me know. Or if you guys don't want me to touch it, that's fine too.

Ferrean you're only going to get mixed opposing opinions about how to properly implement magic, if you try to incorporate all of the suggestions being thrown your way, you won't get anywhere. Because designing by committee sucks.

In this scenario its best for you to continue with whatever you have planned, finish the update and post it, and let us bash our heads/whine/bitch/moan all the problems it has.
>>
>>48362202
Wrong. The idea that, because not everyone can be pleased, you shouldn't bother trying to please anyone is completely warped. He SHOULD listen to and integrate criticism, and use his own judgement on deciding what is and isn't a good idea. You're advocating an extreme position just as bad as using literally every suggestion, because it's turtling up and refusing to improve your work.
>>
>>48362230
The way he is currently implementing the magic system; a limited one available to everyone, was based on initial constructive criticisms people were telling him that the magic option was way too versatile, flexible, overpowered and is capable of mimicking almost every other option in the cyoa.

Now people are telling him to reverse the decisions. Quite frankly if Ferrean posted another status update on another day, you can bet your ass that the general opinion is going to be completely different again.

At this point, Ferrean just pick a direction and stick with it, or he'll never finish the update due to having to change the cyoa every time a different set of people wants him to go another direction.
>>
>>48362321
A few people were telling him that. Probably you. More people liked the magic, also, see >>48362192 , if you want to discourage people from always taking magic without weakening it.

Muad'Dib/Super Napoleon/Guide of the Revolution build

Time And Place:

Appearance:

Social Position:

Mental:
>All upgrades at maximum level.

Physical:

Supernatural Gifts:

>Telepathy, Major

Items:
>Book of Culture
>Book of Knowledge

Pocket Dimension:
>Time Dilation
>Chrono-computer

Quests:
An Empire Eternal

I wanted to see what a mentally-focused build would look like. Now I know.
The goal is to defend and strengthen Revolutionary France with all my considerable skills. As a deputy then probably as a committee leader.
The fun part will be experiencing these very turbulent and heightened times and hanging out with the likes of Danton, Mirabeau and Robespierre.
My main weakness is that I'm quite easy to kill. I'll have to actively use Divination, Telepathy and Super Senses at all times to preempt assassinations and coups. I'll never drink or eat to circumvent poisonings and I'll only sleep in the safety of my pocket dimension.
A very busy, very paranoid life awaits me!
>>
>>48362365
Anon I was not part of that crowd, nor am I discouraging people from voicing constructive criticism.

However what I am trying to convey is the fact that the creator reserves the right to refuse to incorporate new ideas and concepts if those ideas serve only to compromise the balance or theme of the OC and thus leading to a inferior end product.

So far we have no idea what the current WIP magic system looks like other then the fact that magic is available to everyone albeit with limitations. And we don't even know what those limits are or how balanced magic in this system is compared to all the other options.

People are literally just making suggestions to keep the magic option strong and flexible in the dark.

So yeah, Ferrean can either continue with his current direction of implement a limited magic system available to everyone or make magic a strong and flexible yet expensive option.

And even if Ferrean also includes the original magic option as an upgrade, it won't deter people from being less inclined to pick it, because magic is just extremely useful.

Love it! Unique build and time period. I'm really happy to see something like this.

Given your situation, you might arguably be better off with Iron Gut than bothering with Diet 2; this would allow you to enjoy food and wine, and be cheaper in points besides.

How do you plan to use Time Dilation?
>>
>>48362568
>the creator reserves the right to refuse to incorporate new ideas and concepts
He does. He should be given the power to make that judgement for himself, not be told by other people to literally ignore anyone attempting to help him. That's not the same thing at all, that's inference.

This would a waste of time, in other words a betrayal of the Revolution. I spend all my time thinking, debating and making decisions, and I deal with the low bodily needs as little as possible.
>How do you plan to use Time Dilation?
Researching and laying out plans while time outside barely moves forward. Can't afford to miss anything. Events can go very fast and I need to always be at the very least 100 steps ahead.
>>
>>48362644
>>48362664
>not be told by other people to literally ignore anyone attempting to help him
>Told Ferrean not to listen to anyone

Believe what you want to believe because I can't change your opinions of what I have said. Because quite frankly I'm not good at getting my own points across.

All I am saying is Ferrean has roughly two general directions he can take with magic both vehemently supported by different groups of people who are active at different times of the day.

He should stick to one of those directions and not try to shoehorn in both because people won't be deterred from taking the strongest and most expensive magic option if that option can do almost everything the other options can do, because if he did that, we'll just be back to square one.
>>
>>48362725
>his would a waste of time, in other words a betrayal of the Revolution
haha, fair enough.

How will you make use of Artistic Prodigy without betraying the revolution?
>>
>>48362874
Revolutionary propaganda of course! Art has always been more potent than argument to move the masses.
>>

An excellent answer!

By the by, you still have one point left

One Percenter (1) + Mental Upgrades (57) + Physical Upgrades (13) + Magic (20) + Items (10) + PocketDimensionStuff (18) = 119

I might humbly suggest that Personal Omni-Wear might be convenient for your stated goals. Saves even more time, at the very least. Either that or "Of Indeterminate Age", with which you could get the boundless energy of a 20-something and still the respectability of an older gentleman.

>quests have been removed
WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?

Also, I think that magic should be cheaper, but slightly more limited. You can pay 2 points for one of the schools of magic - Transmutation, Destruction, Healing, Illusion, etc. Either that, or "magic" is something that everyone can access and it just takes loads of time, and buying into it just accelerates the process. The way things currently stand, you don't have 30 points, you have 14 - -8 for full immortality because who WOULDN'T choose that, and -8 more for magic for the same reason.
>>
>>48363575
This is great; scanning through it. Overall I like it a lot, so please don't take it wrong if I pick on a few things:

I love the huge number of options, but dislike how few I can take. It's a matter of preference, but I am likely to double my number of choices for most categories when I do this for my own fun.

I feel like it's a little difficult to discern clearly between the different diplomatic categories, though I admire the effort put into the idea.

I dislike being forced to do an equal number of diplomatic and combat options; I feel it would be better if there was more leeway there; just to throw a number out, keep the total missions the same, but only require that at least 3 be combat, and at least 3 be diplomatic?

Anyway, very well put together. Well done.
>>
>>48363575
>>48363702
Oh, follow-up: I don't understand exactly what the deal with "The Gift" is. You talk about it right before classes are picked; does that mean you are picking classes that your loyal citizens receive the benefits of? Or are you picking classes for yourself, and The Gift is just a generic "boost"? And maybe I missed it, but where are you getting soldiers from to complete these combat missions? Do the soldiers have the Gift? If not, who does?
>>
>>48363654
Fuck magic schools, you'd just have even less points to work with by charging more since people will still take them all.
>>
>>48363797
Well, I was thinking that those schools become your "specialty," and you can learn the others normally; compared to the real world, it'd be like a programmer used to working in C++ trying to learn and work with C# (I don't know why a programmer would need C# over C++, but it was the first thing I could think of).
>>
>>48363575
Nice references.
>>
>>48363784
The Gift was explained more in detail in the Empire cyoa, didn't have much room here.

It's in essence a power boost to anyone loyal to the Emperor. Also for combat missions you get a generic legion (or legions) provided by the natives, along with your companions and you lead them to victory. There's some exceptions like the Great Hunt and the trial by combat one of course.
>>

Well I Like it, though I don't have the time to read through it right now
>>
>>48363877

That's in there because of the add-on DLC, World of Myth and Wonder, which you can use to add magic to the world in general.

>Good to know. But, do have to be a priest of Hierla to be a Druid of the Wild or is it just most Druids of the Wild are priests of Hierla?
You don't have to be, but you can if you want.

>One important thing I noticed (and this is important to my Werelion build), can you use magic in were form? Also, what kinds of uses do you see air manipulation having?

Most magic you cannot, since it requires mana and werebeast form=no mana. As for what uses air has, it's invisible- stealthy attacks work. Airblades for assassination, windwalls to block attacks, strengthening a fire mage's attack. Also like what Zaheer did to the Earth Queen, pull the air out of someone's lungs, though that would require time and focus that can be shattered.

*Blows can be made to burn with arcane power, Naturally resistant to harmful magic, Charm beasts temporarily, Persuasive
I almost feel they're too good, but eh.
>Blessing of Riono
*Intelligence boost, rapid thinking, aura of learnedness
*Meatheads don't respect me. Not a problem; I'll turn into my Light Form and show them I'm a BAMF.
>Specializations: Calming & Charisma.
I am already persuasive, and my intelligence makes me a problem solver. Intimidation I'll do without, and I'll have a companion for listening.

>Sun Priest
Nice passive general buff during the day.
>Light-Infusion, Light Form, Fury, Wrath
This is my combat-form; useful because it has great imagery for inspiring the troops, and Fury boosts them further.

>Moon Priest
Don't need to sleep? Yes please.
>Gravity Control
*AMAZING* Battlefield control spell. My god. Just a thin line in which you greatly increase or decrease gravity can cause an entire charging line of soldiers to trip and fall flat on their faces.
>Mooncharge
Further boost to my combat form. My sword is mooncharged and light-infused, boosted further by Fury.
>Lunar Empowerment
To balance out my passive solar empowerment, so that I'm always empowered.
>Rest
EXTREMELY valuable to be able to keep a small army marching 20 hours a day with a few brief naps. Logistics, bitches.

Companions
>Valeria Romula, Vigic Fighter/Sun Priestess
Very strong fighter, and covers the sun skills I do not: Healing, Cure, Shielding. Personality downsides are not too bad; just don't put her in a position of influence where her naivety will be a problem.

(1/2)
>>
>>48365179
>Eret Hammersong
Another bruiser in combat, but more importantly, is going to smith and runescribe weapons and armor for a small elite contingent of soldiers that I will bind loyally to my cause. I can keep his stamina up with my Rest ability indefinitely. If the weapons/armor are finished, on to golems. Due to his problem-solving training, will also be good to bound ideas off.

>Minto Hillocks
Chosen for use of his Wisdom of the Past and Listening training, but useful for his other skills as well. Try to always have him with me when making diplomatic arrangements, to judge character.

So, in combat, I'm using a runescribed, high quality weapon and armor, which is boosted by Light-Infusion, Mooncharged, and Fury. Further, I have all-round boosts whether it is day or night; actually the most powerful during a full moon. If I go into Light-Form on top of it... I think my sword might actually disintegrate people.

Try to give a lot of buffs to a small contingent: get them runescribed weapons, boost them with Fury and Wisdom of the Past, inspire them with my Charisma and Light Form to get them to be loyal to the empire, and thus receive The Gift.

Bodyguards
>Balanar the Shade
I can't imagine a more perfect assassin for inconveniently protected targets.
>The Breakbones Knight
Want an actual bodyguard, and The Iron Centurion is too high maintenance.

>Marriage: Queen Softris
I'm an elf too, so stop calling me a subelven beast, bitch. Anyway, I want smart kids, so she seems like a good choice.

By mother nature being stingy, do you mean with the Green in general or just with growing food?

Is forbidden fruits power boost limited like some of the other similar powers or permanent?

I'm guessing that shouts are a-okay to use while in beast form?

Thanks for the answers btw. Having to be stuck as emperor is kind of a turn-off for me but that's a personal gripe honestly. Great CYOA otherwise. You've gotten better with the power's fluff so kudos.

>It's not as if the Gods are, "Oh wow you worship my brother? Fuck you, no magical powers."
To be fair, that sounds exactly how most gods would behave. I'm glad yours are less dickish, though.
>>
>>48365231
>By mother nature being stingy, do you mean with the Green in general or just with growing food?
Mainly she just considers growing food en masse to be disrupting the balance of nature. Also she primarily helps if it's needed, and doesn't consider growing food to be a true need when you can take the time and effort to grow it yourself.

>Is forbidden fruits power boost limited like some of the other similar powers or permanent?
Temporary. Only Sacrifice is permanent.

>I'm guessing that shouts are a-okay to use while in beast form?
You guessed right.

>You've gotten better with the power's fluff so kudos
thank you for headpats

>To be fair, that sounds exactly how most gods would behave. I'm glad yours are less dickish, though
I generally don't like dickish gods, primarily cause if they were really dickish I don't think the world would have survived for that long.

I think I messed up somewhere in my build.

-Shiv'ska
She seems cute even if her Kaiju form is a bit offputting. The whole no mouth thing might get in the way a bit for communicating but if we can't work anything else out we could always both learn sign language. Her Kaiju form seems to have a mouth but I'm not sure if she'll be able to speak with it.

Mutations:
Only one because I turned out to be rather greedy with the enhancements.
-Healing (7)
Almost wish I could drop this one now but since I already rolled I can't very well take it back now. I'm sure the healing ability will prove useful anyway.

Enhancements:
Whoops I made myself into a mecha anime
-Enhanced Communication Device:
Could help with the language barrier plus makes the Mech easier to use and better at reacting.
-Mech
Being only half the size of most Kaifu would make me roughly equal in size to Shiv'ska. We might be able to team up semi efficiently despite the physical strength and durability differences.
-Armory
Give me guns and lots of them. I'd rather have something that flings hunks of metal over a ray gun but even enough beams should be enough to do damage to many Kaifu. The 15 minute cooldown might not even matter if I just bring enough of them. Since we're the same size we can probably use each others weapons.
-Combat Training
I know next to nothing. This is necessary unless Shiv'ska was expertly trained in combat.

Event:
-Monster Rampage
One's a alien from another world who turns into a Hundred foot monster. The other is a wimpy otaku who was given his very own mech. Together they hunt down the monsters of the terrorist organization known as B.L.O.O.D.M.O.S.E.S. while trying to figure out just what it means to be an earthling.

Heir to the throne, Drax Ubroren. His sharp mind lent itself to the academic studies where he excelled. His goofy personality and joking nature endears him to most, although deep in his heart he is committed to the Empire's progress. But the occasional heavy drink and revelry are not out of the question.

In battle and diplomacy, he likes to gather as much information as he can before formulating a plan. During combat he sends his runed golems to engage in melee while staying in range with his rifle. His explosives are specialized against unarmored swarms, utilizing acid and shrapnel that barely nick the golems while tearing apart exposed flesh. In a pinch he has prepared crystallized magic from his allies. His two bodyguards form a potent team; the Iron Centurion clumsily creates a loud distraction while Balanar silently positions himself to sneak attack distracted enemies. Balanar is amazingly useful for information gathering and scouting as well.

The companions chosen all serve a purpose. Diosna and her social wiles are useful for when manipulation is needed; Gudrid's age and wisdom helps temper our youth; and Xejis is the only one with knowledge of stealth outside of Balanar. He's also a great drinking buddy.

As for the political marriage, Drax agrees with his father's choice. The Sea-People are an incredible ally. The races of the Empire - and likely any potential enemy - are near helpless in water compared to the Sea-People. With the Empire's ships and their natural bodies we could easily create a naval empire unrivaled by any other, monopolizing trade routes and accruing great wealth. The immense mineral and natural (pearls, dyes) wealth of the ocean, inaccessible to land dwellers, would also be available for trade. Luckily Princess Marilla is compatible with me and should not end in a loveless marriage.

If anyone would like to see it, I could write about the quests.

It was only when I went to the quests section and saw Ira's predicament that I actually had any interest in her. Keep in mind, Ferrean, that it's likely that there are likely many others such as myself that enjoyed Ira as you presented her in the CYOA quest and all. Considering, as well, that lolicons are actually a fairly small minority of people in general. There's a strong chance that you could leave her as-is and still not get much bullshit since many people have made builds since then without bitching about her, and likely would continue.

>Pushes the CYOA author to appeal to this group rather than the visible people upset about Ira.

How suspicious of you.

It would also be possible to introduce a way to 'age up' Ira without making it a moral imperative to do so, you know.

One of the options in my shitty cyoa is to be a city's archmage, whose only duty is to maintain the barrier that shields it and oversee the training of the younger wizards. It's by far the comfiest choice. Other options are to lead the assassin's guild, be the captain of the guard, manage the hunter association, etc. All of those require a lot more active input. Is it bad one choice is by far more comfy than the others?
>>
>>48367168
>Is it bad one choice is by far more comfy than the others?

Only if it is the only choice that ever gets chosen.

I would suggest that instead of nerfing the best choice, you instead buff the ones deemed inferior or just mediocre.
Don't go overboard, they should still end up a bit worse than the ideal best choice, but should be good enough to make the player think about his options.

What. Then what's the point if he includes a superior option?

>>
>>48367247
>Then what's the point if he includes a superior option?

It prevents an endless treadmill of rebalancing.
You will never get all the choices to be equally appealing, and every time a new 'best choice' gets created, you have to rebalance everything to be equally good.

There is nothing wrong with a CYOA that has a choice that is acknowledged to be very good.
As long as the other options are almost as good there will be enough Anons who value different things, and will chose them instead.

On the other hand an option that never gets chosen is a waste of space.

Lolicon means someone with sexual attraction to prepubescent girls, and therefore a pedophile.
>>
>>48366894
haha this is pretty great
>>
>>48367451
You're attracted to drawn children; that they don't exist in reality is a fundamentally irrelevant distinction. There are many other combinations of squiggly lines that could have existed, but when it's time for you to get off sexually, you look for the ones that resemble human pre-pubescents the most.
>>
>>48367451
Wiki says
>Lolicon
>In Japan, the word explains a sexual desire for young girls
>Pedophilia
>Is when a person sixteen years of age or older is primarily or exclusively sexually attracted to children who have not begun puberty (generally eleven years old or less)
So what's the difference, besides lolicon being only attraction to underage girls?
>>
>>48367458
pedophilia is sexual attraction to humans under age of consent, difference is cartoons don't have free will and thus can't be called pedophilia if it doesn't depict IRL children. If you like something that looks like 14 year old girl, but really is 510 year old dragon makes you Lolicon but doesn't make you pedophile

>>
>>48367492
No, pedophilia is specifically to prepubescent children.

Besides, saying that drawings of fictional children are somehow different from drawings of real children is absurd. There is no meaningful distinction except for a semantic argument to make yourself feel better about being attracted to kids.

What you are attracted to is the physical appearance of a child, it doesn't matter what kind of fictional excuse you put behind that, the thing you're attracted to doesn't change.

It's alright, anon, I don't condemn you for it. What's more, while many people might find what you are distasteful, the distinctions that you made are in fact the reason why your type of pedophilia is legal in many places, or at least a lot less illegal than the regular kind if you live somewhere where they're really proactive about hunting down deviants like you.

As a lawfag in training I'd say this refers to your estate, meaning the sum of a person's assets minus all their liabilities. Interestingly enough if you were to live in a country where guns are completely illegal and outside the market, you could argue that those guns legally have no value.

Anon, I think making a strawman like that shows a fundamental lack of understanding in your mind.

I wasn't saying there's no difference, of course there is a difference. I even acknowledged it up there where I pointed out why it isn't nearly as illegal.

To spell it out, what I'm saying is that lolicon falls under the umbrella of pedophilia because it absolutely fits all the requirements (sexual interest in a prepubescent appearance).
>>

>>48367550

>>
>>48367558
You can't tell that a drawing isn't a child?
>>
>>48367586
You're ignoring the spirit of a term to argue over the letter of it. The term was invented to refer entirely to those attracted to real children. That a fictional character might be considered to depict a child by some (never mind the arguments we could get into in what defines a child and how that applies to non-human species) does not mean that the term used to refer to the former case should be used to apply to them, especially in situations where their fetish exclusively involves fictional portrayals with zero attraction to the real deal. It deserves more specific terminology, and that it lacks this is more a product of moral revulsion, a desire to avoid the subject all together, and special interest to punish people that are considered revolting even if they do not involve real people in their interests.

>>48367609
>The term was invented to refer entirely to those attracted to real children

>Pedophilia or paedophilia is a psychiatric disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children.

Not even him but:

You're the one ignoring the spirit of the term here to argue over the letter, that you made up to feel better about your fetish.
>>
>>48367619
No, because to argue that the term was meant to apply to often very stylized cartoons and ignore all distinctions assumes that the person implies that the person who invented the term was familiar with Japanese lolicon hentai before such a thing even existed.
>>
>>48367612
Anything really. You know all those rich frat kids who ride around in brand-new cars and wear expensive clothes? Most of them are legally broke because all of that stuff is in their parent's name. Legally they often own nothing.

The trick is making sure none of the stuff you use is part of your estate.
>>
Is Oppai-loli a pedophilia? It seems to go against "prepubescent girl" with such big breasts
>>
>>48367639
No, because no lolicon (as the term is used in the hentai fetish community) is.
>>
>>48367632

So dress one's self in stolen goods?

What about fruits picked from nature? A blanket made from harvested flax?
>>
>>48367604
It's like you didn't even read the conversation you're replying to.

>>48367609
No, YOU are ignoring the spirit of the term. Pedophilia is sexual attraction to prepubescent children, nothing more and nothing less. You make excuses like "but they're fictional", "but she's actually 500 years old I promise :^)", and "it doesn't count because it's just art". But none of that changes the fact that you're attracted specifically to attributes that are found in prepubescent children but not older people.

The entire reason you're even arguing any of this is because of the overwhelmingly negative political aspect of the term pedophilia. If it were a neutral term you'd have no problem with it. Which goes to show how much bias you have in this matter.
>>
>>48367627
It was meant to apply to attraction to children by adults; you're the one trying to claim that being attracted to the sexual depiction of children by artists is not pedophillia. They needn't be familiar with lolicon for this definition to apply.

"They're stylized!" is nonsense distinction to make considering pic related is a highly stylized woman, but none would deny that what is being depicted is a human female. The same is the case in lolicon and shota porn; "stylized children," have sex with adults, but all can recognize that what is being depicted is the act of child molestation.
>>
>>48367627
It wasn't "meant to apply" to anything other than what it means. And if you want to know what it means just look it up.
>>
>>48367651
You could indeed live like a thief and squat in someone else's house. I'd also suggest employing supernatural means to gain money. Gifts received through mind-control are arguably worth nothing. I'm not sure how many of those options are available in that cyoa though. The dragon-girl is amazing though. She'd legally own all your possessions as part of her hoard but she's also your servant so you still have partial access to it.

I wouldn't go as far as to live of nature or produce my own blankets. That sounds like way too much trouble for what it's worth.
>>
Post more loli CYOAs.
>>
>>48367659
It is not, because it does not necessarily include an attraction to real children. A term invented to refer to one phenomenon should not be used to refer to a second one, simply because they appear similar to you.

Stylization works as an argument because it means the drawings have and lack features of the real counterpart, creating a distinction between the two. They are not exactly the same. Another example here is that there are people attracted to stupid things like hyper breasts, where someone has ridiculous balloon tits, but don't find real breasts of that size (on the lower end of what qualifies for the fetish) to be attractive. If they were the exact same as you argue, then this would be impossible.
>>
>>48367692
>Anon will argue that being attracted to those fat thighs means you're a child molester, because he thinks anyone real has thighs like that at that age

>>

>>
>>48367720
You are, in that you're arguing that a term meant to refer to one should apply to the other because of a superficial similarity in your mind.
>>
This pedo shit is entirely irrelevant to the purpose of this thread, so I'm gonna stop holding my tongue about the subject.

Let's be clear, the "muh morals" argument against the half-dragon quest is non-existent. They threw their morals in the trash the second they chose a little girl as their companion. They wouldn't give a shit if the witch jinxed a little girl with a lust curse, and they'd have absolutely no objection to thwarting their loli on her quest to end her curse if that were the case. The real reason they object to the quest is that they wanted a little girl to lord over/corrupt/easily mold into the person they want them to be, and the quest means that it's a loli in name, only. The fact that it's some kind of adult (male, female, it doesn't matter) means the magic is gone for them, it wasn't some innocent little girl they got their grubby hands on, but a fully developed man/woman that was cursed into a form they find appealing.
>>
>>48367730
There are a couple, some where it's just a general waifu CYOA where at least one is a loli, and a few more like Sissy Life and Sex Demon where you can become one.
>>
>>48367718
That depends. You could argue they're real-life working magical items which would make them priceless, worth more money than most people see in a lifetime. You could also argue that due to their magical nature there is nothing to compare their value with and there's no legal basis for selling what is basically magic anyway. The latter wouldn't fly in a completely free market though.

He intended to depict a pre-pubescent human child, perhaps with some stylization. If you're arguing that it must 100% conform to what your idea of a child looks like, then even real human children with albinism and missing limbs likely wouldn't qualify.

>REQUESTING INPUT ON THIS QUESTION
>>
>>48367903
Except unless you're talking about a half-dragon loli or something, that isn't the case, and you're being disingenuous even if you are.
>>
>>48367914
>>48367903
Why are you guys even discussing this? It's clear that neither of you will change your opinion, so this is pointless.
>>
>>48367923
I think there's like four or five of us.

And it's important, okay?
>>
>>48367907
So it's meat bread then.
>>
>>48367914
>Except unless you're talking about a half-dragon loli
This was sparked by someone trying to insult people who liked the full-dragon loli.

>>48367923
Spite on both ends, I imagine. I personally want him to waste his time and be upset and disgusted that I exist, because obviously I offend him by existing judging by the way he's arguing for false terminology for the sake of shitting on people he doesn't like. It matters a lot to him to force his feelings on others too, meanwhile I have nothing better to do except read terrible manga.
>>
Did any new CYOA's come out in like past week?
>>
>>48367936
Well I can't talk for the other person who sort of picked up the discussion later, but I already told you that you don't offend me or piss me off up here >>48367523
>>
>>48367953
There's one about about being emperor, a new branching heart page, that one changing history one, some WIPs
>>
>>48367793
If I feed you anti depressants, will you die?
>>
>>48367959
Clearly I do from your overwhelming need to force false terminology you know is hated and reviled onto people.
>>
>>48367963
I guess I will have to check last threads then, thanks
>>
>>48367971
Like I also already said, you take it way too personally. If this discussion is really upsetting you so much then we should just stop.
>>
>>48367980
I'm the one killing time. You're the one with a goal.
>>
>>48367971
Someone attracted to children is a pedophile; what people hate is not the terminology, it's the fact that it accurately applies to you. If "snoogaliewoogalie" referred to people that were sexually attracted to children, they'd still hate snoogaliewoogalies.
>>
>>48367989
Wow, you know so much about me. And here I thought I was killing time too.
>>
>>48363375

So the wood elves can make themselves invisible permanently or what?
>>
>>48367995
>Someone attracted to children is a pedophile; what people hate is not the terminology, it's the fact that it accurately applies to you. If "snoogaliewoogalie" referred to people that were sexually attracted to children, they'd still hate snoogaliewoogalies like you.
Fixed it for you. You need to rub it in more.
>>
>>48367998
In that case were are both accomplishing our goals. How wonderful is it when we work together?
>>
>>48368049
It's great.

Nah, people discussing fetishes are autistic.
Just fap to what you want in peace.

glad to know that we're arguing over the important stuff here. lemme give my own degenerate opinion: while i do get a stiffy over some lolicon pictures, real kids do nothing for me. i find them annoying, loud, and not attractive in any sense of the word. go figure right?

>>
>>48363543
>>48363575
>Literally all the women are femdom except for the black
Seriously, what the fuck?

Tone that shit down, for real. Make it more balanced, there need to be women who AREN'T about dominating, using and trying to control the king sexually.
>>
>>48368440
The author is Chinese, what did you expect?
>>
>>48368449
Aren't the Chinese pretty controlling of their women?
>>
>>48368452
No, they're so few females that the males became betas.
>>
>>48368440
Softris and Helena don't seem to be femdom. Doesn't change the fact that too many are femdom, but not all but the black one.

Will point anymore out if I see them. I really the thirteenth god. Will repost my other build along side this one when I finally get around to it for the sake of meta.
>>
>>48368457
Well that's disgusting.

>>48368460
You have Helena, but Softris treats you like a worthless animal. That's a different kind of femdom from the others, but it's still femdom.

I mean holy shit, Marilla is 'the ruler in bed' Willonia will literally tie you down and rape you, Softris treats you like an animal, and Vivelda is your generic snoo snoo.
>>
>>48368440
I think the author just has a thing for dominant partners. Notice how none of the male options is a submissive cutie either.
>>
>>48368500
Didn't read the guys. As a reader suggestion, he should balance that out for the sake of the people playing his CYOA.
>>
>>48368460
>>48368474
Also, reading Helena, she's not a good choice either. The CYOA literally describes her as a shrew, and says that she'll even weaken your position as a king if it means making herself more powerful. So she's an unbearable, worthless person as well as a liability to your kingdom.

That really only leaves the black as a choice for people who don't want femdom, and that's ew.
>>
>>48368500
Why would the ruler of a country in a low-fantasy setting be a "submissive cutie"?
>>
>>48368620
Probably because you're the one wearing the pants, so they shouldn't be so domineering towards you.
>>
>>48368620
low? looks like high fantasy to me.
>>
>>48368661
>Probably because you're the one wearing the pants
Clearly that's not true...
>>
>>48368687
In the context of the CYOA outside of the fetish part which people are currently asking to be changed.
>>
>>48368666
I didn't read it. I opened the page anon quoted, saw orcs and elves and assumed it was low-fantasy.
Hey Satan, I've been wondering... I have a pretty good plan, I think, for your Evil cyoa, but I need to know if you're telling the truth or not.
The plan is really fucking monstrous, and I'd hate to find out you're still tossing me in Bad Hell, or it's actually God testing me.
>>48368697
isn't it common for rich business men to love being dominated? Maybe it's the same thing here: After a long day of telling everyone what to do, the King/Queen wants to come home and be told what to do for a change?
>>
>>48368474
Softris treats you like an animal AT FIRST. If you read the entire entry, displays of affection make her melt. I'm okay with being the Drogo to her Daenerys.
>>
something something piss
>>
>>48368785
Just let it out, anon
>>
>>48368753
Maybe some do. Not all of them do. We as the players, not all of us are into being dominated. Nobody is saying some can't be, but too many of them are currently, it's not balanced.
>>
>>48368767
She still treats you like a retarded brute caveman.
