My friend played a character like this. Lecherous little common born bastard who claimed he was nobility and added titles to his name where he went. "Slayer of the minotaur" he coup DE graced it. "Dragons bane" he killed a dragonling once. Threw a "Sir" in his name. Was oblivious to a common saying and legitimately beloved he was the offspring of a goddess after a comment a dragon made to him.

Little fucker had high con score. Wore mithril armor that didn't fit because it was mithril. And every feat he took was toughness, his battle stratagy was that if he could take a beating for long enough, he could whittle anyone down in a fight eventually.

I would allow it only under the condition that the player does something more than that, though. Like, if their entire character is "kills elves," they're going to need to be a lot more original than that.

Not because I have anything against that specific character trait, it's just that if you're running a game that involves a party, somebody else might pick elf or half-elf. And if your character doesn't kill them immediately, there has to be a reason why, and nine times outta ten that reason isn't going to exist. So no, I would be pretty comfortable vetoing a memetastic Pelinal, or at least strongly advising said player to reconsider

Closest I've seen was playing alternate reality Good Hitler in a very silly supers game.

Literally any character from Malazan Book of the Fallen except Anomandaris. I have no problem with him under Erikson, but "tall dark skinned silver haired eye-color changing depressive with a giant magical sword" would be too much for any player I've encountered to withstand.

CHARA is the first human who fell into the Underground, befriended Asriel (son of Asgore and Toriel) but died and their death led to Asriel dying and becoming Flowey.
Chara is actually the one whom you name on the start of the game, the guy you play is called Frisk and is nonalterable. You see it in game when inspecting mirrors (pay close attention to wording) and memorabilia.
In Geno route Chara possesses Frisk and destroys the world.
If you want to reset again, you have to sell your soul to Chara and then it'll reset.
But not purely, if you do a pacifist route after that, Chara will hijack Frisk again and murder everybody in post-ending.

I'd be fine with Maki as a character in my game. She manages to be a highly acrobatic character while still being build like a fighter instead of a model, she succesfully avoids being Magical Realm'd, and she has a backstory which makes her unique without being a special snowflake.

And so what would happen when an elf party member told him that he was an elf, or if this fact became apparent by other means? This character's backstory makes other character's mere choice of race a burden on having the party not dissolve into infighting, which is a fucking chore.

You know what's also a chore, though, and my biggest actual beef with "racist-against-elves" characters? The player is NEVER clever enough to do it humorously and consistently. They will run out of funny slurs for elf, and quickly, it's only a question of when. Usually by session three or so is when they start reusing shit, and by session five at least is when everybody at the table (hopefully including them) is bored to death with this fucking stupid overplayed gimmick.
