Yeah, this anon has a point. Superman is (admittedly only slightly) vulnerable to magic/psychic attacks. A semi-competent Farseer could probably melt his brain.
>>
>>47741320
>>47741346
Superman in 40k basically writes itself if you assume that Luthor is a highly placed inquisitorial agent and Supe's other villains are similarly altered. You can basically leave everything else unchanged.
>>
>>47741320
Popeye would be a humble sailor on an Imperial ship who springs into action powered by his faith in the Emprah's spinach when Brutus Blutonus the champion of Khorne tries to kidnap Navigator Olivus Oylius
>>
>>47741398
Kryptonian invulnerability is not based on a physical property, it's a kind of force field generated by his body when he's exposed to a yellow Sun. So except maybe for the vortex weaponry the answer is most likely no, and that's assuming he stood still and tanked it instead of simply destroying the weapon before it was used or flew away

You're right about psychic attacks, I forgot about that.

His, humans are literally designed for murdering shit, we are the product of billions of billions of years of genetic evolution on how best to kill shit.
>>
>>47742107
This kind of glosses over that humans immediately go crazy or are psychologically scarred forever the moment they see an Old One. Cthulhu is the very weakest of the Great Old Ones, and the Great Old Ones themselves are nothing compared to the Outer Gods, and there's at least 1 Outer God who cares enough about humanity to go to war with us

If the fucking Shoggoths couldn't succesfully rebel against the Old Ones humanity has no hope whatsoever. The whole POINT of the Cthulhu Mythos is that humans are to everything else in the universe as ants are to humans

The way it was explained to me way, an enchanted sword would hurt Superman just because it was magic, but a sword enchanted to be able to cut through anything would, because Superman is part of "anything,"
Just being magic isn't enough, it has to still be strong enough to overcome his super-durability, or have some conceptual bullshit behind it.
>>
>>47742547
You are not understanding. He's not downright IMMUNE to magic because that particular power doesn't work against magic. He's still incredibly tough even when you remove the actual invulnerability power. Otherwise any dumbass magician would BTFO Superman

He basically became one in the new game.

Apparently, the new Doom takes place several hundred years after the first Doom and Doomguy has been stuck in Hell for a long time sealed away in a box or something after he spent a really long time slaughtering demons.

Also, his suit apparently has tiny canals or something built into it that allows his to absorb the sort of energy that demons use.

I mentioned this earlier - Farseers for example have absurdly powerful minds, and he has no special defense against mental attacks. It can't be instantaneous. What to a normal being would be like a passing moment is like several hours or days of calm thought at a breezy pace for superman, and that's for the incarnations who aren't ridiculously super intelligent as well

And even if he starts to go crazy, the moment he does something like pound the ground with his full strength, RIP planet and everyone on it

As ridiculous as 40k is, comic universes will always manage to be more ridiculous. With the Martian Manhunter it wouldn't even be an argument for instance, he's Superman lite with a side of Proffesor X

We have had at least five threads with the premise of "Sailor Moon in 40k" and the result is always, always "The scouts save the galaxy and bring in Moon Kingdom times a thousand"

People just don't even know how gloriously overpowered those miniskirt wearing fourteen year olds are. Daily reminder that at one point in the manga, when they could not find a group of villains, one plan that was seriously debated, was having Sailor Jupiter use lightning to KILL EVERYONE ON EARTH, and then have Sailor Moon use her healing and resurrection powers to revive everyone EXCEPT the people they were looking for!

Sailor Senshi do NOT fuck around.

There is literally a sailor scout whose only power is "destruction", and who has used it to end entire civilizations for the sake of the greater good of civilization in the solar system.

There is another scout who can control time. As in stop it, go through it, etc.

At one point in the anime, when Sailor Moon couldn't defeat a villain with the Deux Ex Machina, who was basically the God of Ultimate Evil at this point, their solution was to exploit the fact that this fight was happening in the future to go back in time and steal the Deux Ex Machina from herself, so that they now had TWO Deux Ex Machinas, which then defeated the villain.
>>

Holy shit, I need to finish the manga and anime. I know about Saturn and all, but I never did reach Stars. The romance subplot that gets rid of Mamoru turned me off too. I probably won't be able to find all those episodes on youtube anymore. Been years.

>In the First Arc of the manga, Usagi tried to dodge an attack by jumping away from it and threw herself into orbit. She was explicitly not flying in the process--she just jumped really hard and reached escape velocity. I just want this as a baseline, pre-everything Usagi, to make it clear that before about five power ups, she still had enough leg strength to convert anything she kicked from a solid to a liquid state of matter.

>First Arcs Big Bad was this little missy name Metalia who, as a side effect of waking up, drove the entirety of planet Earth insane to the point that everyone on it proceeded to try to murder everyone else. She, in fact, exterminated all life on earth in short order. She also grew to a size dwarfing that of planet Earth, absorbing horrific amounts of energy in the process, and generally being a nightmare until the Senshi put her down. She was an Aspect of Chaos, itself basically an Outer God who embodied that which was not, as were all the other Big Bads. Usagi eventually faced Chaos himself, but I'll get to that.
>>
>>47751484
>So let's fast forward. We'll go past several arcs and such minor things as Usagi blowing up planets, her warping time and space to reincarnate Setsuna retroactively, and other such minor things to skip to the end. Galaxia is the apparent Big Bad and it's hard to argue when she killed all life in the Galaxy, so yeah. Anyway, Galaxia swings by Earth, murders Tux and most of the Senshi and recreates them as her servants using their Crystals, which she then sends against Usagi to torment her. Usagi goes to confront her, flying to each planet in the solar system and then to the center of the galaxy in a couple of minutes at thousands of times the speed of light, and receives said torment, only to rise above it and defeat all the other Senshi alone, plus Galaxia's other minions. She then faces Galaxia*, who destroyed all life in the galaxy and who was tossing around planet destroying blasts, etc.

>Usagi wins that fight. She then faces off against Chaos, the corruptive force outside the Universe who had poisoned the Galaxy Cauldron, which had created the Universe. But to do this, Usagi had to dive into the Galaxy Cauldron and is quickly annihilated, which sucks.

>She gets over it and pulls herself together, enduring it to fight Chaos--and pretty much win, though you can't really beat Chaos. While doing this, she also revives her friends and the rest of the Galaxy and then crawls out of it and makes out with her future self for a little bit as a reward for saving the universe.

Aren't the Sailor Senshi actually reincanating? Like I can remember their entire team being confirmed dead more than once. Usagi once literally temporarily became undead by removing her pure heart, out of sheer willpower to gain power that surpassed even the grail and achieve Eternal form all just to save Saturn, and THEN RETURNING HERSELF TO LIFE again just by sheer willpower. With Saturn just being reborn as a baby again.

The show has these characters using giant robots that are really imprisoned eldritch abominations combined with the souls of their mothers. The robots kick some serious ass, but when they're in a "controlled," state they can only last five minutes when being unplugged from their multi-mile long power cords.

There's a running gag of the main character (>>47743112) not ever getting in his robot, but the only times he does that is in the beginning (understandable, since he was really overwhelmed with the situation and had no idea what was going on), a brief stint in the middle (he gets over it after about two episodes of being a bit of a shit), and the end (when the author had well and truly lost his goddamned mind). He's a reluctant hero, but he's also a growing boy who feels like a confused and overwhelmed growing boy.

The show is actually really good until the last three or four episodes. From there it goes off some serious rails, and the movie that was supposed to close the entire thing out winds up being a total downer and turns him into an unforgivably and absolutely horrifically morally-challenged and incompetent main character.

He's also best girl.
>>
>>47744225
The angels are just eldritch horrors or aliens. It's honestly fair to say that they're called angels for the same reason the show has such out-there Judaeo-Christian iconography: it makes the show feel more important. Hell, even the title and what the robots were called were only done as so because the author wanted it to sound deep and complicated.

Take away the iconography and it's a fair-to-middling giant robot show that only stopped being good because near the end the character's mental states and existential crises took priority over the sake of the entire world from a storytelling standpoint.

The people of the 41st millennium are probably severely lacking in Spiral Power, and by the end of the show Team Dai Gurren was creating larger than planet sized robots using just Spiral Energy.
So the don't need the people, which they'd be better off taking for a Hive World, and they don't need the technology, because they can create better stuff from nothing using only their raw willpower.

>ITT: characters from other media who could survive in the 41st Millennium

Do you people realize that surviving in 40k is actually not that big of a deal? Sure it takes Space Marines to fight the unearth horrors of Chaos and other xenos but you don't have to be superhuman to survive in 40k.

You are forgetting that there are trillions of trillions of completely average people that live in the countless planets of 40k living a relatively normal life. Sure, they are not rich and prosperous only a few are, they are opressed and and religiously conservative, but even after all that still live normal lives if requires a bit more determination for some in more hostile worlds.

As long as you do not have to go toe to toe with the big league of 40k combat you can still survive. If anything you might need a deal of greater willpower and endurance than today's average real life person but you don't need to be a super soldier to do it.Heck if anything the IG is the living proof that it is possible, or else there wouldn't be a constant supply of solider for the IG grinder to throw away in the thousands.

So, let me get this straight.

An evil mega-corp has started fucking around with shit that was never meant to be fucked around with, dug too deep and awakened and ancient slumbering good.

I can honestly say I never saw that coming.

Is the game itself any good or is it another Duke Nukem Forever?
>>

It's so the closet nonce crowd can wank to it and pretend they aren't scum.

Then I'm now going to buy it.

Just one question. Is it possible to go through the whole game without anything but bare hands?

This is why talking about video games on the internet is ruined forever. You're not good at it at all. You should stop. Your posts are like someone trash talking about how good they are at pool when they can't even hold a cue and keep hitting the white off the table.

Games are not your topic, friend. There's something out there that suits you, and this is not it.

That's only true in the manga, 2nd anime, and musicals. In the first anime, which is what most people mean when they talk about Sailor Moon, she's exactly as old as she appears to be.
The only time people talk about the manga is when they're comparing it's plot differences to the anime, or in powerlevel discussions like this thread. The powerlevels of the manga are an order of magnitude higher by the end compared to the anime. I mean, in the anime the only Sailor Senshi to unlock their Eternal transformation is Sailor Moon. In the Manga, even Chibi-Moon gets one, not to mention her own team of Senshi.

How do we define "survive" anyway? Nearly everyone in the galaxy is doomed to a violent death and the Champ appears to have service studs, which are indicative of at least a decade of service. He may have died in the trailer (we never see the body) but he did make it pretty far compared to most.

Not being one of those people, whether it be because you're lucky enough to avoid every single horrible thing that wants to kill you for the entirety of a natural human lifespan, or powerful enough that even if you haven't they stand a 0% chance of succeeding.

Where do Perpetual and Chaos-induced respawn capabilities fit into all this? And does the dreadnought state still count as "survival?"
>>

I'd say yes, those count, given that the person is still able to act at their full capacity afterwards.

And I'd say this doesn't, given that they are kept in suspended animation whenever they aren't needed for killing or advising.

I actually don't have one. It's just one of those assumptions I've seen made about the setting enough times I assumed it was just from some book I haven't read.
But even if they aren't, it's a reasonable assumption that the Geneseed enhancements can't be passed on like that, otherwise they wouldn't make such a big deal about harvesting them and would just do it the natural way.

It was a convenient conversion tool. Wearing crosses around your neck didn't really become a "thing" until they started converting Norse Pagans, who wore Mjölnir around theirs, and Christians latched onto that to make the process of conversion easier.

Mercer wont stay dead unless every remaining trace of him is vaporized or he's absorbed by a similar being, though. The fact that he can shapeshift and absorb memories also gives him an advantage.
>>
>>47772305
The thing is: Humans are NOT bullet ants in Lovecraft. They have no defense whatsoever against most everything else in the universe. A Great Old One doesn't even have to lift a finger if his "enemies" are turning into gibbering lunatics just by trying to comprehend it on some way

Again, that's the whole point of the setting. There's absolutely no diginity. If something else decides for some reason it wants to fuck up the bunch of primitive 3-dimensional insects who explode if you look at them funny, they can and will. It's just that usually nobody bothers because we're that fucking irrelevant.

>>
>>47772880
DBZ powerlevels are extremely inconsistent but in any case I doubt they'd be able to do much against a rampaging Oozaru

Master Roshi is able to blow the moon to pieces with a kame-hame-ha with a power level of 139. As in, the guy unleashed more power than the world's combined nuclear arsenals on a single attack. Raditz is almost 10 times as strong and he was the lowest of the low by Saiyan standards barring Goku who couldn't train properly on Earth. Vegetta and Nappa are themselves several times stronger than Raditz on their first appearance, over 10 times in Vegetta's case. If I recall correctly they casually pulverize a city upon entering Earth, and at that point they weren't much more powerful than what you could reasonably expect from high-class saiyan warriors if there were any left besides them. Again, you only need a powerlevel of 139 to blow up a rock the size of Australia from hundreds of thousands of kilometers away, and only slightly more than that to move so fast you're literally invisible to human eyes and have to rely on sensing ki instead.

With Saiyan-Human hybrids you enter a whole different ballgame. Their potential is supposed to be higher than the most elite saiyans. Gohan achieves more than what his father did in 20 years with one year of intense training, and as the Namek sagas goes on he's almost as strong as Vegetta on his first appearance (and still relies on Krillin due to him being far better at controlling ki, because humans weren't always irrelevant on DBZ). Some powercreep later Goten and Trunks have a powerlevel in the millions as little more than toddlers.

This is all before they turn Oozaru which multiplies their power level by x10. Not like they could be reasoned with since hybrids and low-class saiyans can't control the transformation
>>
>>47773273
They still can't breath in space.
So an Inquisitor calling in exterminatus would have the same result as when Frieza blew up their planet.
>>
>>47773273
Oh I forgot Goten and Trunks didn't have tails

Supposedly saiyan hybrids born without tails instead get a huge boost in power and easier access to the Super Saiyan transformation. There was a theory that it was because Vegeta (no idea why I used two ts either) and Goku already had become Super Saiyans before having them, so they had "evolved" beyond Oozaru

Yep we managed to go above.
In "At the mountains of madness" there is a description of how elder things fought old ones to a draw. Now we would exterminate elder things, we only lack space travel. Even the Shoggoths fallen on the danger scale since napalm, they are organic and fire likes organic things.

Not to mention that poster eldritch abomination was rammed by the fishing boat. It would be sad if some bigger ship would ram it, or shoot it.

Cosmic horror aged pretty bad, but in early XX century all of the things could exterminate us.
