Are Rhinos less of a WAAC-fag vehicle choice in a Gladius than Razorbacks?

Keeping a static general image. Other thread is page 5. You rushing new generals without new news or an edition worth making a new thread for. Only reason for hitting it that early is try and leave an argument behind or to try and get a jump on any other threadmaker.

It's funny though, so do what you do.

jokes aside, I had a game with some kiddo in a Gw store, and found more sportmanship and simply the will to fucking play a game to have fun that warhammer neckbeards lack.
its just obliterating the opponent with the most waacs list they could tailor.
game's not the problem, community is.
40k has devolved in one of the worse community ever saw by humankind.

Because they lost all their cataphractii in the horus heresy. Theres a reason why most space marine chapters who retain cataphractii have them shoved in a dusty corner 98% of the time. Theres also a reason why Chaos terminators fucking suck.

No, no, you see, once you reach a certain threshold of TOO old, like volkite, grav, cataphractii, and the dozens of ancient tanks like Spartans and Sicarans, Chaos don't get those because they're too old to keep in shape!

You guys only get things from the sweet spot of "old, but not too old" where all the shitty stuff is, like Indomitus and bolters.

Loyalists and Chaos marines, plus Eldar.
The Eldar have Scorpions, Dire Avengers, Dark Reapers, Fire Dragons, and Warlocks, but are missing Banshees and Hawks, which is one of the reasons why they are somewhat underpowered right now. Their weapons also should do more damage than they currently do.

It's because boobplate has no real practical use and is more of a detriment to their health in case of an injury than anything else.

Repostin since I didnt realize the last thread ended.

So 3rd edition guy here. My flatmates and I just had our first game in maybe 8 years tonight and had a blast. My guard actually got pushed hard by chaos marines on objectives and lost even though I tabled him to only a single LasPred and Typhus.
I happened to watch a large game where someone was using a Death Corps of Kreig force that had this batshit rule of returning whole infanty squads to the table as long as they were wiped out to the man. Are there any other Guard companies with unique rules like that even if theyre CA or IA entries?
>>
>>47733938

Elysians get a special army list from IA, as does Armoured Battlegroup (generic heavy tank company). Tallarn also get a special rule you can apply to certain units, IIRC. I think that's it, though.
>>
>>47733938
Also, goddamn weapon virus. A whole platoon unit of 2 infantry squads lost 8 men to Gets Hot on overwatch and he didnt even make the goddamn charge.

Don't even need to jink for that save.

I enjoy the look of pure confusion on Necron player's faces when they ask why you didn't bring more stuff that has S10 AP1, as if that's just run of the mill junk everyone has on everything.

Don't get me wrong, I like that Necrons are powerful and deadly and scary like they rightly should be, but I just wish they were good AND flavorful. Robot skeletons coming back together after being chunked a bit by explosive ammo is totally fine, but robot skeletons coming back together after being atomized by instant deathrays, nuked, etc?

I really miss the old cron saves. You could even shoot your way into the middle and hurt a lord before everyone stood back up to defend him again without having a bunch of guys just not give a fuck like they're nurgle or something and headbutt your bullets disdainfully with no effect.

Nah mate. Tau fluff is also a major reason they get hate, at least from me.

One killed a Sneaky Marine from my favorite trolling Spess Mehreen chapter, Edgy OC style, where he just straight up shot him with no warning, nor any indication he knew he was there. Ridiculous.

Also, that one fluff bit where Tau pilots are the very best. No exceptions.

My anger for them is almost that of my anger for the Ultramarines. But it's less than that of my anger of the EC.
>>
How do I deal with the Retribution Phalanx? Been playing it a lot lately and it's really causing me problems. The player hides the Overalord with a cryptek and a bunch of immortals and gives the squad a bunch of res orbs. It wouldn't be so bad if they were treated as deepstriking or if they had to be set up within 3" Rather than only one model, but other than that I can't deal with an endless squad of warriors and scarabs charging my units.

Nah, there's a wee bit of fluff wherein a Tau in a battlesuit is talking to a Hammers of Dorn Apothecary who's removing the gene-seed from a fallen Space Marine, and an Assault Marine, iirc, sneaks up behind him and instantly gets killed by him. The Tau then flies off to go and be edgy somewhere else.
>>
>>47734730
Yeah, the rule is so poorly written and loose. I think the intent is that the Overlord is supposed to be easy to kill, but its so easy to make him invincible meaning that the warriors will keep coming back and charging you from across the table.

If we're talking about fluff, the tabletop doesn't matter; Aunva was important to the Tau and losing him is a big issue. Being trapped from the rest of the galaxy is bad too. The story didn't end with the Tau successfully ignoring the firewall, it ended with some hope for the Tau.

I think you people just hate that Tau lore always ends with things looking up. Losses are still bad for the Tau, but a reoccurring theme of the faction is their ability to learn and improve.

What loses were "bad" you twat. You lost maybe 75% of a planet at most while the rest was shielded. Then, no less a paragraph away the Tau already had a way to ignore the firewall. >>47735205
And they didn't find a way to get across it without huge risk and uncertainty. That paragraph didn't state that the tau just laughed off the firewall and all was well, it represented that the Tau scientists were hard at work and with progress and time the Tau will rebuild.
>>
>>47735283
>no less a paragraph away the Tau already had a way to ignore the firewall

Oh no, they're cut off from the big meanies who want to kill them. Oh whatever will they do.

Entire empire is self-sufficient anyway. Only thing they need the Gulf for is taking over more planets. >>
>>47735606
>Yeah, I mean all those Space Marine and Guard losses matter right?

It's a standard part of the Imperial fluff that they take insane losses and it doesn't greatly affect them. That being said, the Titan loses were just ludicrous. On the order of "We lost 100 Baneblades" level.

On the flipside the Tau are supposed to be a tiny empire, a lone candle flickering and guttering in the darkness, that a single breath could extinguish. Them losing billions should be a massive deal, but there's no indication that it is.

>For now. The book didn't go deep into the future or what will happen later. We can only speculate.

Here's my speculation: This never comes up again. It's not like GW particularly cared about Aun'va anyway, and the average Tau player would barely be aware of his existence anyway, compared to the likes of Shadowsun and Farsight.

Yeah, just like how the Sevetar's death didn't matter because he was instantly replaced. That's why there was no whining about his death. Same with the Emperor's death. It's a pretty minor thing to lose your visionary leader. It's almost always a good thing to lose billions of soldiers, your leadership and your ability to move.

One time thing, m8. Ultramarines are well Ultramarines, Iron Hands don't have enough weak flesh to die off completely and you should know that one build that they're famous for, Dark Angels live in a rock, RG are too sneaky, Sallies have building sized flamers, and the Blood Angels are too bishie to die off completely.

we did ask for new sculpts for jetbikes, which included bits to make cannon bikes. But the rest of it caught us with a WTF.

We also asked for Banshees to be better and the waveserpent to function as a transport and not the best shooty tank in the codex, and got both, but last I checked no one else minded those things.

Lol. 5E Salamanders was the only relevant pod list and was nowhere near as strong as Eldar and Daemon lists, nor as strong as the future marine lists. 7E pod bullshit from BC and Skyhammer don't really count because, well, 6E and 7E Tau and Eldar exist.

What's the best ork plane, by its own virtues? I'm not sure what it really need it to do in my army, just need better shooting

I could take a dakka-jet for 145 points for 9 s6 ap4 twin linked shots at bs 3, that's amazingly accurate for ork guns. s6 is enough to shoot down other flyers, right?

Burna bomber gives me lots of ranged ignores cover for people stacking stealth and shrouded, but I'm not sure about throwing around all these blasts at bs2, at least it has decent (for an ork) shooting on top of that making it a solid anti-infantry option, as long as their armour is 4+ or worse.

Blitza bomber is just a big ap2 armour bane template with some guns to shoot afterwards, can never have enough ap2 large blasts if you ask me.

No idea about the new one, is it any good (for an ork vehicle)? Worth buying some suppliment for?
>>
>Have a game against Tyranids tomorrow
>He just finished his fourth Hive Tyrant

Its 2000pts and I am going to spend most of my turn just sitting on objectives helplessly firing at FMCs. Fun stuff.

>>
>>47737372
Just take a Vendetta wing.
>>
>>47737353

If you're absolutely dead-set on having an Ork plane, the Dakkajet is the best. Least random, best dakka.

>Blitzbomba

Bad at doing what it's meant to do, taking out tanks. Also extra level of random.

>Burna Bomba

Provides one of our only sources of Ignore Cover. Sadly it's basically firing heavy flamer small blasts. Outflanking Skorcha buggies do the same but better.

>Wazbomb

Overpriced junk. One KMK shot for 140 points when a Mek Gun does the same for 30 points, on a more durable platform, is completely insane. Mek Gunz just straight up do everything it's meant to do, better.
>>
>>47737353
If you're not using Death from the Skies, Dakkajet is by far the best. It's easily one of the best models in the entire codex. Take a dozen of them.

If you are using DftS, the Dakkajet is BS1 against ground targets, so the new Wazbom Blastajet is probably the best.

Flyer armor tops out at AV12 and AFAIK there's no T10 FMCs, so the Dakkajet will always be at least somewhat useful as AA.

>>
>>47735828
First founding chapters aren't allowed to die out. They just get replaced with later founding successors.

40k ASA whole just hasn't fleshed out the intervening ten millennia very well. There's a ton more fluff written about M41 and M31 than there is about the ten thousand years between combined. It's a shame they didn't put out campaign books for major events in between. Them they could actually have first founding groups getting blown out and actual, major Imperial losses and victories.

Any help for KDK against 4 tyrants at 2000.

For Kdk I usually bring a Gorepack and a juggerlord with some of the flesh hounds. Mostly running a Slaughter cult for sweet sweet blood but if I ally in Daemons I may need to run a CAD instead. Princes are expensive.

I am going to try and bring an allied Nurgle detachment with a Daemon Prince, Plaguebearers and five drones.
