I've got a question for anyone that knows D&D. Everything I've read says that Sorcs are gimped when it comes to how many spells they can learn. They only get them when they level and they can't learn them otherwise.

Is there a way around this or is that the no bullshit no fix tradeoff for D&D spontaneous casters?

Actually a spell-caster can learn magic outside leveling up through self-study by basically committing tons of time to working on that. Sorcerers in fluff are freaking scary because they can learn from Wizard tomes as easily as a Wizard and still have their insanely flexible style. This is supported in the system, I think, however I've never read the rule in question. Give me a minute.

Found it! I was wrong about it allowing more than the allotted amount, however it's cool that you can get access to some pretty exotic spells as long as they're Arcane. Sorry, I couldn't help with your problem.

I tend to try to work behind the scenes, so I don't get quite as many titles as some jumpers. Gunnm ended up getting the title of Oroboros because of my mutations and regen. Which was worth a chuckle with Jormangandr once we got our memories back.

Van Hellsing ended up titled as Uriel by the remnants of the Church, had taken All is Lost and Rebellion, the city ended up getting renamed to Eden after we took it in the name of humanity.

Most recently Naruto ended up with me titled as the Heretic of the Mist. Was running around claiming Anubis was the eighth sword of the mist, created to bring an end to them. Because I was bored, Mist was the home of my background, and Mist hated my guts.

Also there's always Page of Life and a few others, but those were more job titles.

1. DLCs will take place during their respective shows or during the 'downtime' between shows(i.e there is a year between plots and the plots take a year to resolve so for example, Mad King would take place somewhere near episode 11 or so of Kamen Rider OOO)

There's a whole bunch of ways for sorcerers to know more spells. Knowstones, Runestaves, Drake Helms, Dragonpacts, various prestige classes and feats and of course scrolls, wands and staves.

The drawback in actual play is that all of them are significantly more expensive than a wizard just scribing a new spell into his spellbook.
This doesn't really affect a jumper who is not bound by level-appropriate wealth and other balance concerns.
Aside from that the only benefit wizards have is that they get better alternative class features and access to some exlusive prestige classes and feats, but sorcerers get their own unique stuff so it balances out.

So checking the upload folder it seems the Mage jump has been put in with the corrections asked for in the previous thread where it was posted. If the jumpmaker shows up, would you consider removing the Arcana limitations in regards to being stuck at three 5's? By your own admission it's due to White Wolf's strange and arbitary restrictions, which is not a real reason to carry them over in the jump. Note that I am NOT saying to remove the gnosis cap at 5 nor am I saying to get rid of the arcana capped at gnosis. Just when scrolling down and wondering why the limitation is to find the answer as "Because White Wolf implemented strange and arbitrary restrictions that’s why!" is rather irritating to say the least. With enough time it stands to reason one could raise their arcana ratings, even with the...equally strange limitation of restricting growth by half in future jumps. Which itself is never explained. Please explain your reasoning for that as well.

Begun work on Noumenon. Making perks connected to each roomnand denizen so there's a lot on my plate. Due to the nature of the setting the perks will be particularly unique.

I'm thinking of utilizing a similar system to drawbacks called Curses that will be optional for each perk. Not sure if I'll have Curses remain permanent or not but I know taking them will discount the perks. Most likely going to be a Gauntlet jump.

Not the author but by my understanding Gnosis 5 was due to Archmastery and similar silliness, while the Arcana restrictions were kept so choosing what to specialize in would be meaningful. Unlike Vampire and Changeling Mage gets exponentially stronger past six instead of linearly. Believe the note was more about the reason for those precise levels of Arcana instead of why they're limited in general. Can go poke the maker though.

I have a shapeshift heavy build and I won't go near the GC enhanced capstones. Some people have come up with ways that sound like they might overcome them, but the drawbacks are just too steep for what they offer.

I'm cool with a Tenchi Muyo Pick One And Only One style capstone, but permanent drawbacks are a hard no-go for me.

Got a little question concerning something I've been meaning to create in terms of magic.

How likely is it that I could replicate the mechanisms of the Gate of Babylon? Without becoming a servant myself. I wish to figure out a way to create a mini dimension that I can shove weapons and stuff into so that I can shoot them out at ballistic speeds and stuff and reclaim them afterwards. Assuming I have level 100 Overlord magic, Thousand Masters perk from Negima! and Magic Manipulation from Demon King Daimou and other magic perks, how likely am I to attain a rough equivalent?

You've already got a butt-load of magical power behind yourself, so I think it's safe to say you can achieve something pretty similar to what you're describing. If you really want to be sure, hit up a Dungeons and Dragon or Dragonlance Jump. Go in as an arcane caster and you'll be able to craft a custom spell to do just what you want.

The pocket dimension is probably the hard part, your magic should be /way/ more than sufficient to get the shooting and reclaiming.

Teleporting stuff out of the warehouse would make it easier, if you'd be okay with that. There's Fairy Tail Reequip magic, Raildex Teleporter, and... I think there were a few more? Would have to search for those...

Anyway, if you really want to make an independant mini-dimension, maybe starting with a Borderlands Storage Deck and converting it to magic would help a lot in getting that down?

D&D.. might be able to help, if you try scale up a Bag of Holding. It doesn't really do portable pocket dimensions of size like that on it's own through... With the exception of Genesis, which has a fixed location on the Astral Plane and so isn't really useful for your purposes.

But yeah, tech-to-magic is the easiest way I can think of. There's other perks that do the same thing Crimson Saint does, I think.

Arctic Nation technically /can/ be solved with violence, but by the time you are able to intervene, it would have to be taken to an extreme most people wouldn't consider. I left it rather vague because I didn't want to limit people's story prospects by setting clear rules. Suffice it to say, to stop Arctic Nation with violence you would have to murder both political parties/gangs down to their last member. The repercussions of so much violence would have a profound effect on the city.

Interspecies Uproar is another I left a little vague to allow for some interpretation. I specifically stated it /cannot/ be solved with violence because it is, at its heart, a social issue. Adding bodies into the mix will only exacerbate, not soothe, the under laying problem.

Huh. I hadn't seen that piece. It actually does a good job of plugging the last few gaps in the overall picture of Zootopia.

I suppose, in light of this new data, I should lift the restriction on reptiles and amphibians. With the caveat that they hail from a far off continent and would be one of a very few in Zootopia itself. The city isn't really designed to suit their needs, but there's plenty we didn't get to see in the movie itself.

Yeah, Gaia and I have quite a few. Part of being a planetary mother goddess, she's very family-oriented. Once we got past seven I built a colony ship and imported it into Uncharted Waters so they could all be out and active at the same time. Having to stay on the ship all the time might seem like a bit of an unkind restriction for them while their parents are off having multiversal adventures, but it's a big ship. Last time I checked my math there's around 4 thousand Earths worth of living space in there. Volume, not surface area, so the apparent living space is much higher. They're not going to run out of things to explore for a long time.

In the comics, Azazel (red teleporting guy in First Class) is like 1000 years old, due to part of his power involving a weak healing factor that slows his aging.

Part of the problem is that despite knowing that letting Creations Breed is a BAD idea and always ends badly, they keep on making Creations capable of breeding. So two go Rogue, or don't get attention for long enough, breed, and have a bunch of young who have never known Shaper Control.

Items like Bags Of Holding and Portable Holes are based on - literally have as their requirements - lower and middle level spells like Secret Chest and Plane Shift; if you want their big "you could fit a ship in a bottle" cousins, you'll have to create them yourself and you should be looking at high level spells like Mage's Magnificent Mansion, Gate and - you've probably guessed it by now - Genesis. Exactly what you can achieve will of course depend on your DM Jump-chan.

Some creations tend to have other issues, such as drakons and drayks have stereotypical dragon traits, including greed and desires to dominate everything. The beholder types are similar and insane. Serviles are fairly cool if you make them magic users that are intelligent, but they are literally mutated humans, with a few hundred years of work into trying to make them more servile. Servile minds though are a huge issue in that though they are almost always perfectly loyal, however they go insane if you give them the ability to shape other creations.
