It feels like their nerfs aren't even targeted at balance at all; just FUN. They're nerfing how FUN things are and literally nothing else. I cannot even imagine how a team of game writers can come out of a meeting with an agenda like that but they managed it somehow.

I'm having a hard time figuring out what's going on in the background of that pic.

I see a wizard casting (what must be hold animal, despite the fact that wizards can't get that spell)

A gunslinger in a cape with an automatic weapon, I guess?

Is that a cleric in the top left?

And something going on about a mildly apologetic fire person on the left.

Also two skeletons watching a guy bash his head on the lower back of a bear.

What is going on?

Write her up yourself.

I would generate one, but I'm not going to use Ultimate Intrigue in my barley farming game.

I would also generate a Vigilante (Stalker) / Wizard / Bladecaster with Riven Hourglass and Tempest Gale for time stopping, knife throwing shenanigans, but it would be too high level to ever use.

I think conductive and shirt nerf are direct at Kineticist, more than any other class.
>>
How does Implement Mastery work on a Vigilante (Psychometrist)?
>>
>>47343549
I assume the man is in fact not bashing his face into the bear's ass but turning into one. I believe the wizard is pointing dramatically with his staff while he casually casts Black Tentacles, while the cleric is calling down the orbital laser.

House rules if I ever end up running a campaign

• Characters may choose the average of their hit die rounded up instead of rolling at leach level
• All Paizo common and featured races allowed
• All Paizo classes allowed
• All Path of War and Expanded classes allowed
• Unchained classes allowed: Barbarian, Monk, Rogue, Summoner
• Variant multiclassing and normal multiclassing allowed, but no levels in a class that is your VMC. VMC must be chosen at character creation
• Fractional base bonuses are in effect
• Unchained skill rules are in effect
• Character gain 2 skill points every level for background skills as per the unchained rules
• Crafting and profession rules use the expanded rules from unchained
• Backgrounds and occupations rules are in effect
• Skill unlocks may be purchased using the signature skill feat. Unchained rogues can use their class features to unlock their skill as normal
• 2 traits (Paizo or otherwise) allowed at character creation. Up to two drawbacks can be chosen from the Paizo list, with each drawback allowing an extra trait to be chosen.
• Variant magical item creation rules are in effect
• Hero points rules are in effect
• Grappled creatures lose their dex bonus to AC against all attackers except for who they are grappling
• Called shots rules are in effect
• All characters may benefit from the power attack, weapon finesse, piranha strike, and martial power feats once they have at least +1 BAB and meet all other requirements the feat would entail (STR 13, light weapon, etc). They are considered as having these feats for the purpose of gaining feats or access to prestige classes, or any other choice that requires power attack or weapon finesse.
• All 3pp content is allowed, subject to DM permission
• 3.5 content is allowed, subject to DM permission

>>
>>47343854

Class-specific changes
• Rogues, ninjas and monks have full BAB
• Combat stamina feat from unchained given for free to all fighters
• Fighters have good will save progression
• All classes without caster levels have a minimum of 4+INT skill points.
• Paladins and Rangers have caster level equal to their class level, not their class level -3
• Alchemists have a caster level equal to their class level

So, thoughts?

Is there anything that should be changed from here?

Your HP rule looks fine, although I prefer 'everyone gets +10 HP at first level, and takes average round-down every level afterwards'

It's consistent, it frontloads HP to make Rusty Dagger Shanktown less of a nightmare, and it ends up coming out to about what everyone would get on average anyway (since you're just taking the 19 .5s they'd get and frontloading them)
>>
>>47343480

Pretty much this.
Paizo laid the groundwork and the rules, but they shouldn't declare what is and isn't allowed in games, because they're absolute morons that way with a biased agenda.
>>
>>47344002

Have them defend the face from attacking demons (nothing more than they can handle without the face). Perhaps a multi-part trial where the face has to argue, the casters need to fend off disruptive magic, and the martials need to beat down disruptive imps.

Granted, it's World of Darkness, but our princess the hopeful campaign consisted of: a 30 year old man, a 16 female ghoul, a 17 year old female high schooler, a 24 year old male librarian and a 22 year old alcoholic.

Far better way to play a magical girl campaign.

The amount of magical girls that have a sexual relationship with anyone is vanishingly small, the point is to make it so you can read into it... if you like.

Curious, why exactly do people want to make a character who locks down enemies via standing in the way and so forth when an Entangle spell shuts down casters, is very sticky, and lets you hold the line just fine? What's that one druid variant that is basically just a better ranger? Go for that.

You can always stand behind your entangle effect so you have the feel of tanking.

What happen when you use Furious and Empower together though?

For example, if your normal blast is 5d6+17.
Would it become (5d6+17+10)*1.5 or ((5d6+17)*1.5) + 10

So as much as I want to jump in with the DSP stuff, looking now and again at the pathfinder/DSP threads I'm kind of turned off at the idea of needing a character with 40 different pretige classes to be viable.

Well, I can see how it might offend their sensibilities; consider that, as pretentious hipster SJWs, the men an women at Paizo place a significant value on the false utility of "authenticity". Priding themselves on not buying the mass produced clothes from a major chain. With something that can change a garment on command, you destroy the foundational concept of authenticity - anything that is, can be replicated.

By making it an illusion rather than a transmutation, they seize authenticity once more - your clothes become a facade of trying to fit in to their authentic social circle like some filthy prep. What was before an item that could have brought cultural harmony without the sacrifice of self-expression becomes another tool of division - between the "real" and the "fake". Without these social divisions, they can't schlick themselves to sleep over how much they're fighting against them.

And so, the transmutive properties of the sleeve of many garments MUST be removed, for it goes against their very philosophy of protected classes and division.

There is no sexual dimorphism in Pathfinder for gender.

There is for age, just not gender.

A strength 8 character can lift 160lbs off the ground and stagger around with it.

A strength 10 character can lift 200lbs off the ground and stagger around with it.

Pathfinder is not a good system to extend to the general population.

Hm? Aha, you made me look, but you're wrong. Male kitsune have five inches over female kitsune.

What you meant to say is that there are no rules to cover... why a given strength rating is assigned a character. How you fluff it is up to you.
>>
>>47346111
>other non-magical set of clothing

The former is armor, the second isn't clothing. There is no such thing as fire-resistant fabric in 1pp Paizo. Asbestos cloth etc is 3pp.

This could very easily be changed in a way that doesn't destroy the feel of the item for a simple, minor-convenience. Just add, can't be made of special materials. The rest is just a lack of understanding

I myself don't know any of them, but I'm sure there are some tools out there that can be used to generate maps. Your GM could, like with modules, take maps from preexisting content and use them.

>Beastmorph Alchemists
>Animal Companions
>Eidolons
>Monks

The vast majority of which are casters or caster related. 3pp and creature templates can expand that selection, but it's still pretty fucking narrow.

For what it's worth, considering that I am /very definitely/ a biased opinion, most of DSP's stuff is multiclassing/PRC ENABLED, but not REQUIRED, if that makes sense. Some of it is that we feel PrCs ought to be worth taking (which doesn't mean we haven't fucked up...) rather than automatically shit, unlike certain parties that will remain nameless. Some of it, like Path of War's multiclassing, is a throwback/homage to the parent system. >>47346917 If you are available for comment or ruling Gareth I was wondering if equivocate from shattered mirror could be used to gain/share buffs with allies based on the wording or if I am reading it wrong? "You ensnare yourself and a foe in a reflective relationship. You can initiate this counter in response to [an] opponent in close range... being targeted by a... ability. For one round, any such effect targeting that opponent also targets you (and vice versa), even if it normally could not affect that many targets or one of you would be out of range."
>>
>>47347064
It says it only works when an opponent does it. If you're using it on an ally, they're not your opponent.

Depends on if your DM lets you swap between designations.

Playing PoW is like playing any of the Sengoku Basara games
Be an epic badass wiping out waves of mooks with a single blow whilst silently praying to god that your DM doesn't throw Lu Bu at your general direction.

So, here's the deal: there is no sane way to handle 'ally' and 'opponent' aside from letting individual characters designate them. As such, RAW, yes, you can do precisely this. It wasn't designed with that as the intent, but...

Well, but Shattered Mirror is an odd duck, in that it kinda scales with the op level of the campaign. If your DM/group is comfortable using the letter of the rules in that fashion, then go nuts. If they're not, don't. It's one of those spots where there's no good way to close the hole, and where even if there was we might not, because why fuck with a group that's comfy doing it like that?

That's not true. No one in PFS asked for the X Grace nerfs, no one asked for the UE item nerfs. Paizo uses PFS to figure out what items people like, and what out-of-the-box builds they enjoy, so that they can be nerfed.

Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon.
Probably the most accurate rendition of a group of people playing a tabletop game.

You got a ninja who can walk on walls
An Incubus Bard
Two lesbian angels who are a wizard and cleric
A Bard Illusionist with a special archetype that causes his illusions to be 100% real thanks to his performance: author
Another Bard who becomes untouchable once she starts dancing, gaining DR, concealment, and boosted evasion
Among other things...
>>
>>47347330
Here's the thing

If lots of people are using it and having fun, it MUST be overpowered

That's why everyone wants to use it. Everyone is a powergaming munchkin, and whatever they enjoy must be squashed for the good of the game, so that no one can have fun.

Okay? None of those have anything to do with getting consistent face-to-face games. That's why people play PFS, to have a game where the GM won't bail after one session, where there's at least a minimum level of competence in the adventure design, and where you won't have to deal with the GM's horrible fetishes.

It's the plain oatmeal of tabletops; bland, inoffensive, and uniform.

Thanks, that is basically what I thought. I probably won't try it unless I ask my DM first(I'm mostly asking because this may help me keep the less capable members of my group relevant when I use buffs on myself.) The funny part I like about the maneuver though is that if you use it in combat your enemies and allies won't want to help or hurt either of you other than through direct attacks so it is kind of an initiate duel ability(which there totally should be a discipline that let's you initiate and be the master of all non-spell duels from pathfinder(I.E. Psychic Duels, Verbal Duels, Fencing Duels, etc.)

Psychic Duels can be fueled by spells and are initiated usually using spells, but do not require use of spells to win(I have played with the rules quite a bit as I enjoy them and from my experience those with good mental stats and per day abilities to spend will often defeat min-maxed spellcasters unless the caster is built around psychic dueling).
