He was an extremely charismatic warlord that united the savages of a desert backwater, and successfully waged war against the noble empires of the north.

We're talking about a man so aggressive, he was kicked out of one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Europe, a man that fucked a 9 year old and was praised for it.

To be fair, this is a gross oversimplification. He was 14 at the time, and was masquerading as the son of a Christian man whose job it was to confiscate any valuables from those being sent to concentration camps. He helped out, and saw nothing wrong with it, since he was 14 at the time and figured if not him (a fellow Jew), then the Nazis.

He also warned those being summoned to concentration camps that they would be taken beforehand, so that they might have a chance to hide themselves or escape.
>>
I don't feel that politicians are "Villains" like you see in fantasy and other fiction. To be a proper BBEG you have to be taking some amount of personal action, like, it's you yourself burning down that orphanage. Having reprehensible opinions and the power/money to enforce them is evil and all, but it's not the same as being Sauron or The Penguin.

Upper-tier mafiosos and Hell's Angels types and the like would probably qualify because they actually do their own gangster shit at times.

Mithradates the VI was basically a supervillain. He allegedly killed 80,000 Roman/Italian colonists living in Anatolia in under a week, without any Roman forces getting wind of the plan, and effectively unified parts of Anatolia behind him by saying something like "Look, I did it but you knew and didn't say anything and we're ALL getting blamed for this so shut up and send me troops." He regularly tested poisons on convicted criminals. And finally, he was immune to most of the major poisons used in his time, leading to the anecdotal, but totally badass story that when the Romans finally came for him in his palace Mithradates drank every poison he had in his extensive stores but was immune to them all so he forced his bodyguard to stab him so he could avoid Roman retribution.

In Brazil we have Eduardo Cunha.
He isn't probably the most corrupt politician, or the one that most caused harm to the country, he is problably the most "sucessful power hungry arrogant unlikeable manipulative psychopat".

Among the things we can give him credit:

he was accused of corruption. Switzerland pretty much gave proof of it, giving information about his bank accounts there.

They were going to start an investigation on him.

The government didn't stop it.

4 hours after the process of investigation of him offically started, he made the "ask" for impeachment.

Now, or president is pretty much incompetent, but is less corrupt than most of the other important politicians (still corrupt, though).

He gave an excuse to start the process of impeachment and went with it.

Later, the association of lawyers gave another "ask" for impeachment, more reasonable, more complete. But Eduardo Cunha, as leader of the common house, denied it, because he wanted HIS impeachment process to be the one to take out the president.

Similar thing happen about a law project about dealing with underage criminals.

There was Cunha's project, very ruthless but nor much refined, and another, I don't remember from who. Cunha's project was rejected. IN THE SAME DAY, through legal loop holes, he made minuscule changes in his project, talked to other politicians, and made they approve his project.

Now the impeachment is most likely to occur.
The vice president is from the same party as Cunha, and Cunha will become the vice president. And most likely, they will finnish the investagions on his corruption, even though we already have proof of it.

Not only this, but he does this we almost no support of the population, just controlling other politicians and using population dislike from the current president.

Among other things, he does have 200 internet domains like "facebookjesus.com.br", "jesustube.net.br", "windowslivejesusmessenger.com.br", etc. Or had in 2014, not sure if he still has
>>
>>46995817
He manipulate fanatical believers always he can.
He's very right-wing, but most likely don't belive in any ideology, just goes with what he thinks will be easier for he to manipule.

He tried to manipulate the people that would make the commission of impeachment and his investigation for corruption.

In both cases, many of these people are also facing charges for corruption.

He is pro big corporation, against net neutrality, etc.

The list goes on...

I think recently he even gradually started to look more like Palpatine from Star Wars.
>>
>>46995905
Almost forgot, a little piece of a interview with him:

"The people are not even care what I say, just take the last sentence," acknowledges Cunha - and repeats the slogan: "After all, the people deserve respect," terminating their speeches on the radio. "The phrase can turn demagogic, but have to pay attention to intonation. I say 'the people deseeeeeerves respect!' Everyone burst out laughing."

>>
>>46970549
Military dictators. You don't tend to get benevolent people into those positions, especially when you give them a blindly loyal army.
Corporate big wigs are popular if you want a more subtle BBEG.
Basically take anyone with lots of power and make them irredeemably corrupt or callous to consequences.
>>
>>47006311
>especially when you give them a blindly loyal army.
How does this happen, anyway? Media always portrays these armies as callous, unfeeling, or maybe even cruel. But they're from that land, why would they be ok with fucking with their own people?
>>
>>47006364
Because being in the military gives them power too. Benefits. Acquisitions. Authority. Stomping on a civilian that sasses you. A sense of, I guess, belonging if they like the military. That last one isn't so bad though.

This isn't much of a thing when the military has a lot of oversight and responsibility (or can just get the stuff without legal hassle), but if the military IS the government, you only answer to your superiors.

Also, cults of personality. North Korea is an Orwellian shithole, but the population can't fight back an inch even if they wanted to.

>no blatant criminals
This guy is most likely a billionaire, one of the most powerful criminals in the world and a major instigator of the War on Drugs in Mexico, which has caused more deaths than some of the United States' actual wars (some towns in the mexican border are literally ruled by drug cartels). He broke out of jail on a motorbike using a fully lit tunnel over a kilometer long. You just can't make that shit up.
